Very nice to see the cheif officer explaining the setup procedure! I'm very proud that Ortofon is danish, but went with the Grado Green instead since it just sounded better in my opinion and their cartridge and stylus selection is much easier to understand for a noob like myself. Great video!
❤ thank you so much sir for this wonderful instructional video and I plan to apply it to my U-turn orbit green basic turntable and very excited about it thank you so much and God bless all of you at Ortofon!!! I already have the cartridge installed on a redhead Shell on my sl2500 direct drive professional turntable and it sounds fantastic! I am 73 years old so I've been around the block a few times when it comes to phono cartridges.😂
Very well explained for a novice like myself. I recently upgraded to a new turntable which came with the 2M Blue and was blown away with the new sound! Greatly appreciate the step by step process so when I need to upgrade I will be comfortable in doing so myself. Great Video indeed!
Very well done rudimentary cartridge / arm set-up video. I've forwarded to a few clients & friends. Thanks. Please continue producing "TT 101" style vids. 👍
i'm loving my debut carbon pro, BUT they should come with extra head shell plugs. these wires are so tiny you are going to break them off at the lug ! of course when going to try fit my Ortofon Bronze, the last wire i went to put on i broke the wire at the lug. so now i'm here with a nearly $700 new stylus that i can't try because i have no replacement plug and finding it difficult to find online

This brush cleaning technique will excite so much static charge, that the record will crackle out of nowhere, even when there is no dust at all. You will need an antistatic device like Zerostat.
Very good instruction video. I have bought the 2M Bronze cartridge and mounted it on the tonarm exactly as shown on the video and it worked perfect. The sound is wonderful. However, I have a problem to put the cartridge protection gurad back in place. It simply does not snap back into place. I mean, its not rocket science to put the guard back in place, but I don't know what the problem is. Has anybody an explanation and/or solution ?
Good video. > it is absurd. those 4 tiny wires and the connects - super fragile. So , how do Ya replace the wires / connects ? I have a fairly expensive T' table - instantly worth like 2 cents when I broke one of the tiny, cheap connects....( and electronic repair shops, generally gone the way of the Dinosaur ) at minimum the SME replacement H'shell ( about $ 25 with wires ) should be used. actually by now Cartridge plug in direct to end of T'arm should be standard.
I do have a question, What do you think of Wooden head shells? I recently bought a wooden head shell, l lined it all up with my protractor everything looked good but the cart looked off center when I put it on over hang gage & looked directly at it? I then took my calipers measures the 2 slots from side to side & noticed there was a 0.0020 thousands difference from each side. The records sound great when I play them, & it all lined up good with my protractor. But is it ok that the cartridge is off Center? is my question Any help would be great Thanks..
Hello , nice video ! I want to rewire the tonearm of my debut esprit dc , may I use cardas cables ? How about the fifth black wire with screw at the edge of tonearm should I change it too? What silver solder and what clips at the end?
thank you but like all these videos, we only talk about the easiest, we forget to adjust the fixed position of the cartridge with the "overhang" before the vertical tracking force. then you talk about the antiskating of looking at the book, is it difficult for you to say, at such a notch we have 2g, that it must be adjusted in relation to the weight of the cantridge,
Step 2, vertical tracking. This turntable probably came with an om cartridge which is very light. A 2m red is much heavier. The counter weight for this table is probably a 65 gram, part no 00. You would need to swap this for a 75 gram counter weight, part no 01. Refer to your turntables instructions on cartidge weights. That is the total weight of the cartridge, not the tracking downforce. Otherwise a good tutorial.
Preferably the "black" one. Saves money and fiddling !!! I had the experience with the "blue" PS: wenn jemand möchte, ich verkaufe das "Blue“ um 150€. NEU!!!! (If someone wants, I sell the "Blue" for 150€. NEW!!!) PSS: 19:54 Cleaning the brush over the sound plate, may not make much sense🙃
At 12:00. Careful! Before putting the front scale of the counterweight to zero you have to fix the rear part of the counterweight!. Very important and not really made clear in your video ;-))

Maybbe it would be worth to also spend some thoughts on the tracking angle and how to adjust this.
how come there is no overhead shot to see the 2 alignment points???
Cheers for this! Great Bally got myself a 2m RED andnisntalled myself, what's a difference!

Does people really put the stylus guard on-off every time they wanna play a record?

hello! can you advise me on adding an Ortofon 2MR Bronze on a McIntosh MT5 turntable?

So if I don’t align the needle and weight, I could ruin my needle. I don’t have that measuring thing and the arm weight thing.

Affordable initially. Replacement stylus, not so much.
Hilarious v2.01
Thank you sir for this instructional video. the setup for tonearm without balance ring and without antiskating weight like Pro-ject T1 is much easier?
