The Emporia VUE is amazing. I was able to find electric leaks and find areas of the home to eliminate electricity waste. We’ve reduced our electricity consumption 40% in the first week alone!
@@akashdeshpande588 I was able to see that my pool pump was taking as much energy than if my AC was to be on all day... I decided to save by covering my pool and running the pump less
Thank you very much! There were very few (if any) installation videos for Gen 3, so this was very timely for me. You also addressed the biggest question that I had (how to install the antenna for flush-mounted panel). I'll be sure to use your sponsored link to purchase the product. Thanks.
Thank you, this was really helpful, so just wondering, how can I monitoring a breaker that has two live lines (AC)?, Should I get both lines at the same time in a single sensor?
Do you have to monitor each breaker? Will the main unit be of value if we only use the 2 main input current clamps? I'm curious if the box has any intelligence to determine what appliance came on by comparing the current draw to that of a common current footprint for common appliances? I think it would not be that difficult to determine a furnace or a AC unit just came on. I ask this because this is how some Smart meters work.
No, with only the mains power being monitored, it is not smart enough to know what specific devices are operating. It does not have this type of feature. One thing you can do however, is to use their smart plugs to monitor smaller appliances.
Unfortunately I am going to have to return mine to Amazon as it has no time of use rate options for Ontario, Canada, which is a deal breaker for me as a Landlord
There is an article about a feature called "PowerSmart" that works when using Emporia's energy monitor and EV charger together. However, I do not have an EV charger and I have not tested this out. Here is the article I'm referring to: help.emporiaenergy.com/en/articles/9084181-what-is-powersmart

Nice :) ...I agree, it has been very helpful for me as well. Thanks for watching!
what kind of electric leaks did you have? Out of curiosity

Thank you! ...glad my video helped.

You should use two different clamps and through the app join them as one

That's too bad... Thanks for letting us know!
So if we only install the two main clamps it will monitor the amount of electricity used and it will keep record of time of use?
Yup
Does it help avoid overload? i.e., can it adjust power on an EV charger to make sure I don't overload my home?
