Never fully got the enormous size of the Nostromo until I recently viewed one of the size comparison animations videos of iconic movie and TV spaceships. That scene of Kane's funeral would have shown the size rather well. The Nostomo always has appeared rather small imo. That means the tankers containing the ore it was towing was just gigantic in size. On a different note the scene that has always stuck with me from when I saw Alien in 1979 as a kid to today is the scene where they are jettisoning Kane off the ship. When Dallas says Any last words and the entire crew doesn't respond it felt very cold and foreboding. That along with the music really had an effect on a little kid and still does. The crew was in shock but also it just didn't feel like they truly gave a shit either. It's actually now that I think of it my favorite scene and music interlude in the movie.
