Really helpful, thanks. My husband's G30 charger port has stopped gripping the charger cable (though it still charges if held carefully in position) and after watching this I'm confident of being able to replace the relevant board.
in practice, disassembling this device is more of a pain, mainly because of the battery. We all know that a small damage in the battery can lead to a fire and it is mounted in such a way that damaging the battery is a very high risc. Also it is nearly impossible to remove the buttons without the risc of damaging them. This was confirmed by a repair tech that said that basically they will not do repairs on the Moto, because there is a high risc of damage. The ones that will do it wil charge 140-150euro as they will also replace the battery, rather than removing it. No-one I asked will replace just the screen. The screen is mounted to the frame in such a way that replacing it alone is hard and difficult as alignmend needs to be near perfect. A 150euro for repair is a whooping 20euro's less than a new device. What they recommend me was to buy a new or used device and clone the damged device, or, when that is not possible to a severely damaged screen, just replace the main board between de damaged and new device, if keeping your data is critical. Repairabillity imo should be a 3
For screen replacements, it would be easiest if you found a replacement screen with frame combo like this (www.ebay.com/itm/393485687240?hash=item5b9d9319c8:g:Gm8AAOSwf61hC63c) so that you don't have to pry the screen off. Also for the battery, yea its difficult, but you can use isopropyl alcohol and apply it around the edges of the battery and let it sit for 20 seconds and then try to pry the battery off and apply a little more isopropyl alcohol if needed so it gets under the battery to eat away at the adhesive making it easier to pry off. Hope that helps. Here is a link for the isopropyl alcohol: www.ifixit.com/Store/Tools/iFixit-Adhesive-Remover/IF145-400?o=4
You're welcome. The NFC antenna is on the back cover, it has two gold pads where they touch two gold pins on the main board to give it signal. Make sure the back cover is seated in place properly and that the gold pins on the board are not damaged and make a connection with the NFC antenna points when the back cover is in place.
The shield on the back side of the processor is dented due to impact on the back of the phone and is doesnt turn on or charge. Is it completely broken or is there anything I can do? Cheers.
There is mesh filters for the speakers and mic but no rubber gaskets or water resistant type filters. No OIS on the cameras, they are fixed in place camera's so no point in poking it with a tool since they wont move, its not hard to see that.
hola amigo mi moto g30 resivio un golpe en el blindaje superior ala lado de la camara y no enciende, no resive carga.. que podria hacer, tendra algun tipo de arreglo?
Hi, its possible the screen got a small hairline crack in it somewhere on the corner where you can't see and that may be preventing it from working. Also can be other internal damage or a loose battery cable. Try one more thing, hold the volume down and power button at the same time for 30 seconds and see if it will boot up. If not then it might be one of the first things I mentioned.
@@PBKreviews lo lleve a servicio tecnico y me dicen que toca quitar la parte el blindaje donde esta la pelicula de granito, sobre el blindaje plateado. es posible arreglar esa tarjeta con ese tipo de golpe o toca remplazarla?
Not too difficult. You can use the video as a guide to walk you through it. The earpiece speaker on top is held on with adhesive, so you can heat it up and pry it off. The bottom one is held on with those screws on the plastic assembly so that one is easier.
You would need to replace the fingerprint sensor but its not too difficult. You can follow the video if you feel you would be able to do it, if not then best to take to a professional.
Headphone jack is soldered to the board, would require soldering knowledge to replace, and the charger port is on the sub board and that would just require replacing with a new sub board.
Can the glass lens be removed and replaced without all that disassembly and without replacing the LCD and digitiser? It seems obviously wrong, when the glass is the bit that will break, to tie it to the lcd and digitizer - those knockoff lcds and digitizers are a great place to put a man in the middle attack and collect info from/trick a vast portion of the earth's population - and our computers are now powerful enough to pull it off. Meanwhile, when the manufacturer provides cheap brittle glass, all I want to do is swap the glass for a low price.
If you are talking about the glass on the screen, no it would not be possible for an end user to replace just the glass. Its fused or glued to the screen itself to reinforce the screen since screens are much thinner now a days compared to back in the day. Only factories with special tools and machines can replace the glass from the screen.
@@PBKreviews it would be better from my perspective to glue the display and digitiser to the frame of the phone and a slim tough substrate on the front to provide it with support and surface protection then let me debond and bond lens material as an ablation layer across the display and bezel as necessary
Hello Sir, I am from India. My battery is totally f*** and I need to replace it. Could you kindly tell me the battery model of this g30. Thanks in advance.
Well, time to replace my charge port. I didn't know the G30 had no back adhesive. That makes my job a heck of a lot easier.
👍

No problem. Also check and make sure there isn't lint and other debris stuck around the inside of the charger port. Sometimes that's the cause of it.
I can't thank you enough for your video!! I managed to replace the battery and surprisingly everything works!!
glad it was helpful :)
amazing i followed the way and did my own change of broken lens !!
Nice, glad you were able to do it!

I actually tried to repair it and damaged the battery aluminum foil and it started to melt.
Dont do this !!
Pour alot of alcohol under the battery, before trying to pry it out. Use a playing card, not the guitar pick as shown here.
Thx for the Video 👍🏻 after i replaced my Screen, the NFC doesn't Work any more. What have i done wrong? Where ist it located? Do you know? 😅

In order to replace the battery do I need to do a full disasemble or can I just go so far as to expose the battery connection and then replace it?
Just as far as gaining access to disconnecting and removing the battery.

Is there any water mesh at the speakers or microphone? Does the camera have OIS? You could have moved the camera with the tool to see.
