PJ, the bottom of the pencil case can be pushed inward so it stands up on the table. It’s supposed to be a portable standup pencil case.

    So some mod-rock tips:
If you want a smoother texture, use a paintbrush and a bit of water and brush it over the strips that have been applied. The extra powder on the mod rock will spread to the holes.
If you want to make a mask, or put it on a hand or something, cover the face/ hand with petroleum jelly. Once it dries it will pop right off.

For future plaster bandage crafts you could use foil for more complex shapes and outer layer, some wire for carcass and paper as filler where needed. Also you could use a bit warmer water and keep the plaster bandage for a minute or so (but not too long) so you could easily fill in the gaps of plaster. Anyways, it's a true cutsie!

So generally with mod rock or plaster (that's what we call it in America) before you put it on the newspaper or whatever base material you use, you should get all of the holes out of it by running your fingers that are still wet from the water down the mod rock so that when it dries its a smooth (or smoother) surface to draw or paint on. I hope this helps at all.

Dude that looks so good!! A couple of tips for using ModRoc kinda materials:
•It tends to work better if you use warm-hot water (don’t use straight up boiling water!! If you want to use boiling water than add cold water in after to make sure you don’t burn yourself!)
•If you use tinfoil instead of news paper it’s still a light weight base and it’s much more malleable (it can kinda hurt you hands after a while of working with it, so be cautious)
Anyway, love you and your little ghost boi! Hope to see more of your artistic exploits soon!!

I’m currently taking art classes, and in the past... however long it’s been since I started the course, I’ve had to use Modroc (I wasn’t sure exactly how to spell this, as there are multiple ways: “Modrock”, “Modroc”, “ModRoc”, etc.) countless times. This is honestly a great first attempt, and that’s no surprise, but I have a tip that may help you if you ever attempt using Modroc again.
I must warn you though, this will probably make little to no sense as I have no clue how to word what I’m about to say...
When you’ve placed the Modroc onto the surface after soaking it, it’s advisable to rub the Modroc, as this gets rid of those holes - and if you take enough care, you can actually manage to get it really smooth. It does get quite a bit of Modroc on your hands, but it’s definitely worth it in the end. Also, rubbing the Modroc while it’s still yet to dry can help merge the pieces together, giving it an even smoother touch.
I’d advise doing one piece at a time though, as it sometimes dries too quick to cover up the holes after applying a whole layer... but then again, my Modroc projects have been larger than yours, so it may differ.
As far as I could see on my small phone screen, all the pieces of Modroc merged beautifully, but I did see a few holes in the individual pieces of Modroc. Then again, this may just be me picking out small details, as I’m usually overly picky with my own art (my art teacher often calls me a perfectionist, and me being this way often slows me to a ridiculous level).
I’m not sure how to conclude this, so I hope whoever reads this (and everyone else, I don’t wish a bad day upon anyone who hasn’t read this comment, obviously) has a nice day and hopefully this has helped someone... although it probably hasn’t, if anyone’s even read this.
