Hello, thanks a lot of this. I did try to play both games together with other mame version (groove mame as it have offset fix) using batch files, but I noticed the build of that mame doesnt support link play for these games. I'm gonna try to play. Ohh and btw the Ska a Go Go Song cutting at the end, its because IIDX is playing the "club version" of the song, while DDR plays the regular version. Club version has that different ending
aw, rather unfortunate that GroovyMAME doesn't support link play for those. also, i was mainly referring to the ending, i.e. LOVE IS THE POWER mysteriously cutting out -- still not entirely sure as to why?
So amazing! This seems to run very smoothly, with no dropped frames and perfect sync. What CPU and GPU did you use to run this? Also, are there any special settings required in MAME for it to work smoothly?
@@infinitephantasm i'm having trouble getting it to work. i made the .bat files. beatmania works fine but ddr.bat won't open. the cmd closes right away and the mame doesn't appear. i see "error: unknown option -rs232_network" for a split second before the cmd closes.
@@ShadowFeline odd, both commands should work just fine if they are used as-is without any additional arguments. have you tried the BEMANI fork of MAME if you haven't already?: nightly.link/987123879113/mame/workflows/ci-windows/bemani?status=completed
aside from the link session steps already mentioned, you will need wayder's cheats for MAME from here to enable autoplay: ss1.xrea.com/nekoziman.s601.xrea.com/cheat/ install the cheats like you would normally for MAME, and then just enable them. you will need to enable it after IIDX actually boots into the attract mode though, otherwise some checks before the game starts might fail
@@infinitephantasm wow! This will help me to use it for IIDX and DDR session play. Thanks a lot!! Btw, a quick question: Did you only use your computer or laptop to run both MAME games during link session play? I really hope that it will work on my laptop if both games are running.
@@egoism300 ye, you can just run both on the same PC. admittingly, not sure what would happen if they were run across different PCs (and it'd require different launch arguments regardless), but what i have works for me on mine
@@infinitephantasm hope it will work on my laptop. I'm always fascinated on DDR and IIDX session play for a very long time. These session reminds me of GuitarFreaks and DrumMania' link session play in arcades.
BGAs require ripping using a complex process listed over on the BEMANI fork's wiki: github.com/987123879113/mame/wiki/beatmania-IIDX#videos-advanced-users-only as for your other question about overlays not appearing in club mode -- i'm not sure why that is!
DDR:Kick on the dance floor IIDX:Break Down

今のACシリーズでもやって欲しい😅
ⅡDXとDDRの同時プレイは面白そう😌
DDRからⅡDXへ移植、ⅡDXからDDRへ移植の曲が多いからやれる曲は多いはず😅
So amazing!

Welp, I know what I'm doing when I get some free time...
Wow you found a way to link this game. Looking forward for guitar freaks and drum mania to follow suit
oh, i can't take any of the credit. 987123879113 deserves the lot of it for getting stuff like this working in the first place!

@@infinitephantasm thanks for the link. it works now.
Ska a go go's ending is weird. DDR uses the original chart but IIDX uses the another cut. So you get more lyrics as the charts end.

この当時の最難関曲の1番難しい譜面ダンレボのです。今の最新の難易度表記とかに合わせたら中級者向け位の扱いでしょうか。教えてもらえたら幸いです。
I have one question, overlays for iidx substream are disabled when playing in club mode?
How did you play the bgas for iidx?
BGAs require ripping using a complex process listed over on the BEMANI fork's wiki: github.com/987123879113/mame/wiki/beatmania-IIDX#videos-advanced-users-only
as for your other question about overlays not appearing in club mode -- i'm not sure why that is!
@@infinitephantasm i made that process ( but i used a premade fork build), i followed the instructions, and it worked
