Shawn, I notice you have done this event both solo and as a team. Interested to know your thoughts on the difference in terms of risk, endurance, morale, etc. Planning to join next year, would be my first Water Tribe event.
You may have grouped some of my WaterTribe experiences together with other random trips. The OBX130 is not a “WaterTribe” event. It is just a loosely organized “moving messabout”. I have only ever sailed it solo on my own boat, but all of the participants generally work together as a “team”, to help each other down the course. There are always risks and you need to be prepared to take care of yourself in all situations. Unlike the WaterTribe events, for the OBX130, F120, etc., endurance really isn’t an issue. It’s not a race. There are no deadlines. If you get tired, you can always stop. Many do. If you want, you can still catch up the next day. Every day on the water is good for morale. Fair winds!
Nice trip. Well done.
I am going to endeavor to have my boat built by the next one.
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊 ❤
You can never get enough of small sail boat's and white sand!
I'd love to join ya'll one of these years in my Tanzer 16!
Not only do I enjoy sailing with you; I LOVE the way you weave these endeavors onto video
I’m just “preserving” memories so that I one day can remember good stories to tell in the rest home. 😁
