I started learning Blender 5 years ago. I'm 64 years old and I'm still learning Blender. And enjoying every minute of it, thanks to young folk like you!
I'll be 68 in April. I started using Blender about the same time you did. I mainly use it to make 3D models to print. My drummer has a set of lights that he broke the height adjuster on. I've got a replacement on the printer right now.
@@baldeagle5297Cool. I've been holding off on buying a 3D printer because I know it will be a real money pit for me. Plus, they keep making them better and better.
@@blenderinthegrass I've got a resin printer and an FDM. If you're going for looks, a resin printer is best, but I've never found a resin that wasn't brittle. FDMs make a more robust print but layer lines are visible. Don't wait for the ultimate printer to come along, prices won't come down any time soon. Best of luck and happy printing.
I'm only 57 and moved from a pro career of decades of Lightwave use to an instant pro career with Blender once I got up to speed. As a solo VFX artist, no one cares what I use as long as I use it well! As to 3D printers, I can only say that anyone that wants to 3D print should absolutely learn to 3D model. You can only print so many vases and little dragons before you realize what you want to print doesn't exist on Thingaverse. The best entry level FDM printer is a Elegoo Neptune 3 model, any of the ones from that line... the smaller ones are cheap. For Bald Eagle... to keep resin prints from being too brittle, add a little (10-15%) of Siraya Tech Tenacious Flexible resin to your standard resin and bingo, prints that won't shatter.
Lots of blender channels have "how to learn Blender from other channels" posts, often at the start of each year. Curtis Holt, Ducky3D, SouthernShotty, and Blender Made Easy have released videos like that. (Blender Made Easy just released earlier today, actually.) That just shows the respect in the Blender community.
Thank you sooo much man! I'm so glad to be a part of your channel. It's so hard to find someone genuine like you on UA-cam nowadays. Wish me luck for my Blender Journey 😄 Love you ❤️
Actually it's the right time to start learning blender , because blender now has developed a lot + poeple are starting to make more and more tutorials which means u will never get lost or even bored
you always can start at the legacy versions, it's what I recommend these days. a lot of resources and tutorials and if you miss a feature you are good enough to get a newer version.
bruh im having a lot of fun using blender, i got an understanding for the UI/pages and still have to understand the nodes and obviously a lot more but its so cool bro. The year before i learned davinci resolve (video editing software), and it has a node based compositing page so honestly blender kind of comes off to me with a natural feeling. if you enjoy software youll definitely love blender, especially if you have hard core specs which btw it confuses me when people upgrade their pc just so they can play warzone at a higher frame rate, like its cool but try out other software, our machines can do a lot these days.
I think this question "is it too late to learn %ACTIVITY%" is popping up more and more often because people are scared of AI like ChatGPT is gaining new abilities stupidly fast with the exponentially increasing speed and basically we are 2-3 years behind the time when AI will be able to generate the marketable results in every aspect like imagery, video, music, modeling, animation, coding, storytelling etc. and make the human intellectual work to cost nothing at the demands of the modern jobs and market. Of course, free artists who are making arts outside of the corporate demands like "draw a banner" or "make some cute painterly sprites for another free2play grind RPG and also write a music score for it" will not vanish, but it will be 10 times harder to gain pennies for your work if you aren't best of the best
Good on ya, bro... More people need to hear this and take it on board as an approach to, not just Blender, but everything in life. You're a great teacher man, keen to see what new tricks you can teach us old dogs in '23!
It won't replace all of them. But a lot. Triangular geometry and PBR texture extraction from an image dataset already exists (NVIDIA) and its only getting better and better incredibly fast. Only a matter of time.
doesn't take a long time to learn blender. Starting with nothing you can learn enough to make what you want in a week, and master it in a month or two with just googling the specific things you want to do when you encounter them.
@@thedarkmatterplanet lol definitely after 9 months of learning blender i feel i can start to learn anything I want and end up with a decent enough piece at the end but i was really making trash during the first 3 months after 6 months is usually when i see my new skills starting to get interesting but I guess for other people it might be longer or a bit shorter
You are too late to learn anything, AI will take over soon enough. Put your time towards skills that you know robots or AI won't be able to do in the next 50 years.

Thanks, seems like I gain more motivation by reading this comment :)

Me who returned after 2 years of not using blender: *so we meet again*
Donut: *welcome back...old friend*
Same here.
Kinda admire the sincerity of linking other creators in the description. Sadly it's not a given anymore that channels are genuine like this
Imagine if he just would've put his own videos in the description

@@aquanton Which would have been perfectly fine too.
Your title was too vague, I thought you were going to say blender was going bankrupt or something
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT TOO! 😱😱😱
Same
I thought it was a personal attack at me or sum, like destiny was shaming me
I didn't think that at all 😂
But titles are supposed to intrigue you
Congratulations, you just got to learn what a click bait is

been doing blender for a year now, that still good advice for learning anything. Thanks you

Darn it, I love the blender community so much!
you genuinely inspire me
*CrossMind Studio's* _Introduction to Blender Series (9 videos)_ looks like an excellent start, before the Donut.
you always can start at the legacy versions, it's what I recommend these days. a lot of resources and tutorials and if you miss a feature you are good enough to get a newer version.
The BEST way to learn blender is to watch a 15 parts tutorial of how to make a donut
we thought about the same joke, maybe I have chance to learn too I feel my mind is in the right direction
im more in the "the AI is taking over everything whats the point" now when i think of learning blender
I remember myself starting back when I was 12 on a crappy notebook with 2 GB ram and no mouse ... never regret starting

me seeing the links: is it donut?
*click*
me: omg donut
Good on you, mate! Have a great day. ☀️🏝️
Great speech that gives the people a hope for something that can be useful for their life and fulfill thier emptiness 😊
Thanks man😀
Thank you i love every thing you do 😘😘
New channel name inbound...
I concur.

I’ve been using blender for 6 years but I haven’t even once made a donut 😅
Even if robots did EVERYTHING for us, it's part of human nature to have the desire to craft things with their own hands.
Me on death bed: Ah, Fuck!
the only thing that made people feel too late to start things is their anxiety to start...
the question is can AI make 3d animation in near future?? what should i do right now pleas help?
Cgmatter addresses the allegations
ON IT

whats up with the beard man 😂
Don’t let him lie to you! It’s way too late now
I make blender content but it’s really hard to get views any tips?
What intention has this title?
That's not the issue. Why start now if AI can do it for you by next year?
fck yea
Don't scare me .I`m old like 44.!
The panic/pessimism of people saying that AI is about to eliminate all human 3D artists immediately has also been entertaining. Not quite yet!
Yeah I get what you saying but for me as a student looking for a profession this is quite concerning. Things moving so fast

Those titles ressemble more and more crypto/investing channels titles.
Cg I like you bro go Spotify listen to burial he has amazing drums bro good beats you will like it
Honestly click bate title but I agree
Ha
What, is Blender gonna die, or something?!
When the video is clickbait

What exactly? From what I’ve seen AI will pretty much replace every task at some point with how fast it is improving every day
But... But this is just clickbait.
