The news today has been very exciting, seeing the legend Ken Griffey Jr. gracing the cover, and knowing that he will finally be in the game, the first time since he retired as a professional in MLB The
Show 10. There will be much more news about MLB The Show 17 coming along, and I encourage you to stick with Sports Gamers Online, as we will be covering news of the game preparing for it’s exciting release date in March!
God hearing Vin at the beginning gave me chills
This to me is easily the best intro put together by the show and maybe any sports game. It couldn't have been more perfect timing with Vin Scully retiring, the Cubs winning the World Series, it was the perfect tribute to the history of the game. It captured everything I love about baseball.
I like the show 16 the most
Both are great but 13 is the best
@@xjoshlll, now 19. With winter. The winter opening.
@@xjoshlll 12 for me
Agreed
1. Ted Williams' .400 season, 1941
2. The Shot Heard 'Round the World, 1951
3. Jackie Robinson steals home at the WS, 1955
4. Don Larson pitches a perfect game during a WS, 1956
5. Hank Aaron's 715th home run, 1974
6. Carlton Fisk's historic walk-off homer in WS Game 6, 1975
7. Bill Buckner's "Between the Legs" error, 1986
8. Cal Ripken Jr. in his 2,131st consecutive game, 1995
9. Lou Gehrig's emotional farewell speech, 1939
10. Kirk Gibson's game-winning homer in WS Game 1, 1988
11. Kirby Puckett's game-winning homer in WS Game 6, 1991
12. Joe Carter's World Series-winning homer, 1993
13. Edgar Martinez and "The Double" in the ALDS, 1995
14. Edgar Renteria and the Marlins win the World Series, 1997
15. Derek Jeter and "The Flip" during Game 3 of the ALDS, 2001
16. Dave Roberts' steal in the ALCS, 2004
17. The 108 Year Drought Ends, 2016
Thanks
Giants win the world series, they won the pennant, it literally says "The Giants win the pennant" like 1000 times
Don Larsen* and Dave* Roberts
I got a lil bit of tears when the Cubs won
Giants Lost the world series to the Yankees in 1951, that was the famous shot herd around the world broadcast by Russ Hodges
I actually come back to watch this every once in a while. Goosebumps every time. This is literally the best intro to any sports game ever
Same. It's perfect.
I have Show 17 installed still for this.
“It’s Time for Dodger Baseball”
The best words in all of MLB. Vin Scully is the man.
I'm a tigers fan but yeah that's cool
It makes the dodgers my second favorite team behind the cubs.
Hell, I'm a Brewers fan and I get goosebumps when I hear those words from Vin Scully
RIP
The best intro to a game ever.
If you didn't cry, do you really love baseball?
Yes especially when the cubs won it all😍😍😍 or Lou Gehrigs speech
Bro as a Blue Jays fan who was at the fabled game six in 1993, I frickin burst out into tears on my couch when I heard the “Touch ‘em all Joe!” Baseball truly is more than a game. Heroes get remembered but legends never die.
@@georgebridgman2221 I’d cry to if I was a BLue Jays fan they suck
@@thedon1570 Fr the lore is crazy
RIP Vin Scully. This intro still gives me the chills when he goes “It’s Time for Dodger baseball” and I’m a jays fan
It was the perfect way to honor Vin in his final year.
Best Show intro ever?
Sports Gamers Online No pretty boring tbh.
The Show, maybe. Greatest ever? Triple Play '99. 'Think you could handle the heat, the hook, the hammer?' Nothing came close to me.
Sports Gamers Online one of the best video game intros ever period.
mr198221 Step up to the plate, and bring it on
Piazza Delivery yup
I liked it. Captured what I like about Baseball; the nostalgia, something which other sports can not capture in the same way.
Bobby Kozakow Lol what?
@@MrAnonnymous Kind of true, because baseball has the richest history among all the major pro leagues. NBA really began its cultural presence since Bird vs. Magic inthe 80s. NFL got bigger in the 50s and the 60s.
Baseball's been around the 19th century. It's a game that gives the biggest respect to traditions and history. (sometimes to its detriment)
Bobby you are wrong about many sports will not capture the nostalgia. All sports have something nostalgic about achievements, hardships and loss. Football “soccer” have the same nostalgia feelings, especially in World Cup, which has countries fighting other countries, and champion league where the best of the best of European clubs are in place.
And even included the only good call Joe Buck ever made
I agree with you. I could care less about what others have to say about others sports. Baseball brings something to the table that will NEVER be brought by other sports. How can you not be romantic about baseball?
You ever seen a grown man cry?
I did on opening day this year. #itstimefor162
Years later they still have yet to replicate this intro. It shows what baseball is all about in a nice 2 minute video. Gives me chills every time.
Agreed. But, the closest they got to creating an intro that resonates with many people would probably be the one from 2019, the one with the four seasons. Personally, the Winter Intro was by far the most sentimental
Still applies
I come back to this now and again. It was my first MLB game. I knew I'd immediately get hooked after this masterpiece of an intro. I'm nostalgic about those days.
Best video intro. All the pictures collating with the broadcasts gave me the chills
Best sports game intro ever. Chills all throughout the video, I still find myself coming back to see it even after 2 years.
Same. This just gets why baseball is so special, the 100+ years of history, of heartbreak, of "oh-so-close" moments, and of course, memorable miracles.
SAME
This shit hits more after the passing, RIP Vin
“Derek Jeter with one of the most unbelievable plays by a shortstop” chills. Complete chills. My favorite call ever, and it’s so simple
Incredible Intro. Goosebumps, chills, maybe tears. Awesome.
"Today I consider this Intro, as the best intro on the face of the Earth" :)
"Today, i consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth" *holds up chalk portrait.*
Now that is respect for the Iron Horse Gehrig
The first time an intro made me cry happy tears. I love this intro. I'm a tigers fan but I shouted yes when I heard "THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES" my respect goes out to the chicago cubs. Y'all deserved that win
easily the best intro to the show. RIP Vin Scully.
This is the best intro in any sports game, ever. It's not particularly close.
The nostalgia, the subtlety of the music, the original commentary, cinematography, the artistry of using the scoreboard. I get chills every time. Masterpiece.
RIP to the greatest to ever do it, Vin Scully.
RIP Vin
This is one of the most emotional, timeless intros ever made.
5 years on, and this is still the best intro the game has ever had
The best MLB the show intro easily
6 years later and I still get tears watching this.
Oh the feels. One of the top intros
Goosebumps every time.
I just saw this for the first time and my eyes are leaking
I love hockey and college football , but knowing and playing baseball as an American kid it was always gonna be so special , baseball wasn't what it was here but will always hold dear to any Americans heart who grew up playing
I’ll never forget the first time I saw this intro when I bought the game… having played every release of MLB The Show in existence, no intro before 17 or since has encapsulated the raw emotion, excitement or definition of what baseball is all about in the manner that this intro did. It was simple, but so sensational. I’ll still never forget, when the music slowed and Lou Gehrig’s drawing was being showed with that iconic “luckiest man” speech, the emotions began to run high for me, and it did not stop. I am a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, but also a lifelong baseball fan, and I remember never complaining, not even once, to my wife or anyone, that the Reds were not featured in this intro, for the sport loved by millions, through generations, was captured absolutely in this one video, and I’ll never forget it as long as I live… and I’ll keep coming back to see it every so often.
Dernit! I'm literally crying in the bus stop while waiting to go to the work!
This is the best intro to any game ever...
I believe Need For Speed Carbons Intro was the best, my opinion
Definitely a great one, but Forza Horizon 3’s intro was also fantastic!
Madden 13 is pretty good too
I love this intro, it's so emotional and inspiring. Made me cry tears of joy in the inside.
I literally come back to this intro 4 years later because of how good it was. The best intro in the hole series, no doubt.
Definitely teared up a bit. Hands down the greatest intro to any sports game in my opinion.
This is the only intro for a baseball game that I never skipped, truly a masterpiece
This captures the pure beauty that is baseball
2:13 seeing the drawing w/ Rizzo and the guys is just beautiful w/ Bucks call
Touch em all Joe, you’ll never hit a bigger home run. Straight goosebumps
RIP Vin Scully
"This series can't get any better"
T sick la
@@tonybleau6219 bin non bin non
@@tonybleau6219 Ayoye
I’m glad the Cubs broke the curse. I remember watching that whole year unfold and I asked myself will they push it to the World Series and I thought it was possible now winning the World Series was the challenge and I’m glad we pulled it off.
Makes me think of the old baseball days, the good ole days
This is easily the best intro in the series so far. Love it!
Still brings a tear to my eye to watch the very end of this intro... 💙❤️🐻⚾🏆
Rest in peace Vin scully
Notice the scoreboard at the end. Visitors is 17(Bryant in Cleveland for the championship). Home is 24 obviously for Griffey. Also the gold 17 jersey at the beginning, cubs just released the gold world series jersey last week. Can't wait to play this!
Nice catch!
Best intro of all Mlb the show / Mlb # the shows
Just got the fall update for 19 and had to watch this one again loved this game
Chills all over and I cry every time I watch this. In a good way.
I remember when I played the show 17 I never skipped this intro
Chills.
Wish I was a kid playing this again :( at 17….with no worries, just learning about baseball and playin the show 🤙🏼
“This is gonna be a tough play….the Cubs WIN THE WORLD SERIES!!!” Chills every time.
This and ncaa football 2012 are my favorite sports games intros
RIP VIN
This sport has always been in my life all 17 years I’ve been on this earth. Played for 4-5 years but stopped in middle school being I wasn’t playing to be competitive but because it was fun. I watch games when I can and remember being woken up and walking down the hall and seeing that throw to first when the Cubs won. This weekend I’m going to the big A. Hopefully one day Fenway, this sport doesn’t care about who you voted for, skin color or even your religion.
My favorite game of all time
I’m happy I got to witness this myself and I’ll always remember it
Rip Vin Scully
If they ended it with what Vin Scully said when signing off the last time it would have put the nail in the coffin for this being unbeatable
Sends shivers down my spine.
The best.
This is nostalgic
“This is gunna be a tough play Bryant THE CUBS WIN THE WORLD SERIES BRYANT MAKES THE PLAY ITS OVER AND THE CUBS HAVE FINALLY WON IT ALL 8-7 IN 10”
It’s so perfect the only that’s missing is Bob Sheppard and im not even a Yankee fan
It’s time for Dodger baseball! RIP Vin.
By far the best mlb the show intro ever
This intro is the best ever because it show the famous times in baseball history
the cubs winning was the greatest game ever can't prove wrong
Was I the only one that cried watching this
👍🏽yup
Henry Aaron 🐐
Got chills as an Indians fan, the BEST intro ever made, makes me tear up every time
The only thing to make this intro better is if the final score on the scoreboard was 8-7 in 10 innings. Other than that it’s perfection.
Mvp of mlb the show intro
"Bryant, The Cubs, WIN THE WORLD SERIES!"
Now that's the best words in MLB
I will never understand how anyone on earth can resist the romance of baseball.
Edgar’s double always gets me
I cried very powerful
No one:
NO ONE:
My dad at midnight: why tf you crying so loud
“For the love of baseball that’s why” yea I feel ya bro
Idc what you think, this is the best intro to the MLB games ever
I just wanted to play video games now I'm crying dammit
There's MLB the Show 2017 intro, the show 2013 intro, 50 feet of crap ... and the MLB the show 2020 intro
Name of the song?
Must save the world
What’s the song or was it made by mlb the show?
Gainityle Against the World by Samuel Karl Bohn
Anyone know the name of the chalk artist?
“How can you not be romantic about baseball?”
No 2009? "The Yankees are back on top! World champions for the 27th time." :(
Fuck the Yankees
How is that one of the best 15 or so moments in baseball history?
Holy shit, dude get some perspective...
2020?
Anyone else watch it in 144p to piss urself off
GIAMBI WAS SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A one a two a three.. 🥲
muffin song
Whats the name of this piano song?
ringworm9 I found it once so it’s definitely on UA-cam. I think the title had the word “Rain” in it. I’ve been searching ever since. It only had like 3k views on it
Against the World by Samuel Karl Bohn
Kasabe you’re the man! I must’ve been remembering the rain on the cover.
Baseball❤️😪
MLB The Show 13 Intro>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I liked 16's intro way better. Griffey is great and all, but the Cubs just won the World Series. No bryant on the cover, and no real life calls in the intro is a huge letdown IMH.
Cole Burton what do you mean by real life calls
There were a bunch of broadcast calls from the 2015 season put into the intro for The Show 16. For example, when it transitions to the part of the intro with Anthony Rizzo, you can hear Len Kasper in the background making the call for when Rizzo jumped up on the tarp and made his catch in fowl territory. They did similar things for the other 5 captains as well I believe.
the world series call at the end of the 2016 world series was the last call in the video
i3oogie just realized that, I watched the video in a jam packed room with the volume on low. Good call!
the madden entrances over the last few years are better but I do like this one
Horrible
