i listen to that roberta flack almost every night that one of my favorite album she was the alicia keys of her time..plus that album cover is beautiful the light caught her perfect
Newbie here: What are you doing at 8:18 when you are tapping each and every pad from left to right in order as the sample is playing? I see a lot of beat makers doing it.
I have the same question! I've been making beats for a bit now but never with a drum machine so that part is foreign to me. Hopefully we can figure it out! 🙂
@@fkntourist is there a trick to getting the song to keep playing as you hit each pad to chop it? the only way i've ever known to chop samples is to manually chop them and drag them onto each pad. i'm new to drum machines for the most part though and am used to using a daw.
Sloan wait a min. So you can make the “sample” or song u want to sample play and in real-time tap each pad to assign the slices you want? If so that’s awesome. I just assumed you manually slice and assign and she was just playing her slices back to see how smooth it sounds altogether.
I love this video and crate diggin is one of my favorite parts of producing is finding the gems you use to make your favorite beats. ima have to stop by that record store one day. peace from portland maine.
It’s when you go to sample mode, slice, and choose the manual option. It will allow you to chop the sample then when your done, select apply to choose which pads you want to apply it to. There’s videos on this
It's hard as hell sampling Al Green tracks I don't care what anbody says I usually sample his shit in reverse. At a certain Tempo you might catch a horn Melody you can use.
Thanks for taking me on a trip to the vinyl records store, the fair, and your little creative space. It was cool and was dope that you had an appreciation for Popeye, lol. I used to watch his cartoons when I was young. Keep grooving and have a great day. Your inspiring. 😄
what kinda record player is that? I plan to get my 12yr old son a Mikro MK3 w/ FL studio he will be a beginner but he is interested in making beats now...Wanna know what kinds of record player you have or do you have suggestions on some for when he does get to sampling
I can never figure out how when you chop the samples.. hit apply all and I cant get to the second "page" of the bank if that makes any sense. Only the first 16 pads shows up. I hate that.
Really good music and feeling. I have some technical questions : What kind of vinyl platine did you used ? And what is the process to record it right through maschine Mk3. Thanks a lot before all. Hear you soon
Nice video. I never sample ever when I make a beat but I love the music other producers make with it. I don't need the lawsuits so I just leave it alone but good job, you are gonna go far.

Bjs e abraços do Brasil....,🤩🤩🤩

"chopping" the sample. Aka dividing it into separate pieces.

alley dash more of a setting than a trick. It depends on what drum machine you’re using though. I’m only familiar with Maschine

Hey Sarah, I just bought a maschine but I have no idea how to use it haha. How do you set it up to do that chop technique at 8:19?
It’s when you go to sample mode, slice, and choose the manual option. It will allow you to chop the sample then when your done, select apply to choose which pads you want to apply it to. There’s videos on this

There’s a slice mode and you can manually chop the sample on each pad. It’s lit.
