I hope these tips help you guys get your Kick and Bass proper in your tracks. These are tips that I have learned that always seem to help whenever I run into issues with my low end. Let me know what you guys think and if you have any more tips to add to this video. Happy Producing.
Omg !!!! The low end trick with the mb I tried to find this trick so much time!!!!!!! Thank you 🙏🏻 thank you 🙏🏻 no seriously thank you 🙏🏻!!!!!!!!!!!!!!zen you the man!!!!
Aww maan!! I wish you would have really just left the compressor off for a little longer so we could hear the DIFFERENCE at 6:52 That would really help me understand it more, so would understanding anything better be an easier way to do it as well. Brain works by comparing stuff, that's how we perceive, would have made this video 10/10. It's seriously 9/10 compared to all the 5/10 or less on UA-cam right now buddy.
I think you are the best teacher on youtube... the mix of knowledge and good sense of humor is everything.. in every your video I learn a lot and laugh my ass out
Saturating the low mids is a great tip! Seems so obvious when you hear it but I would have never thought of doing that. Keep it up man, your videos are awesome :)
@@マシュードーラン THe more I watch Zens videos the more I´m into the idea of getting Serum. I´ve been using Massive a lot (as well as a ton of other synth plugins :D), but Serum seems pretty dope as well!
Hey vato, as a Veteran I want to thank you for your message at the beginning, it took me by surprise and it means ALOT. I really want to that your tip on using MB is a fucking game changer! Muchas gracias! Te wacho
Also a classic tip that I would add, is to EQ the right frequencies of your track. e.g. If your track is on E, small punch on the kick at 41,203 Hz and remove a bit of this frequency on the sub and boost the sub at 82,407 Hz and remove a bit of this frequency on the kick (Tip from John Christian)
I have several projects that need some help but it’s hard to identity what is needed or if I should scratch the entire thing. Wondering if you could make a video on how to target and fix the issues in old projects? Thanks!!
How do you make your track sound so clean? I've applied different techniques to spread the sounds in different frequencies and around the stereo spectrum but it still sounds messy and cluttered. Any tips? Much love
Pay attention to your reverbs (too many with different amounts or samples drenched in reverb can smear the sound), use a correlation meter to see if your sounds are already wide or too wide (some samples and synths are already too wide as it is) and keep things simple (don’t overdo your sections)
Nice video man keep going! I see that you using Gullfoss as well.Let us know your opinion about that or how you using it in your tracks if you want.Take care!
Good vid man low end is the most important thing if you want it to bang in a club! Another useful tip is put a low pass filter on the master at around 100hz
The multiband trick is REAL good man, helps a lot Zen :D Btw Zen do you think about bringing some video related to granulated synthesizers like granulator 2 ?
do you have a video on bussing in ableton? i am still using version 8 with no way to upgrade cause old computer and interface, i can’t figure out bussing properly
Can your bass and sub bass be in the same key? or does the kick, the bass and sub bass all have to be in different keys to prevent phase cancellation from happening?
6:54 I'm pretty sure R Comp doesn't work in ableton ... Only the gain does. Are you sure yours is working correctly? there's a whole thread about it - forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=230137
I have one question. Isn't the bit with the lows compression with MB wrong? Just because it is constantly reducing gain, and it isn't recovering. Thanks!
Precision strike with the advise man. Sometimes you think you've learned something, you forget it when you're in the thick of things and someone reminds you. Also, can you give a little more room for time when you playback and when you speak? It's cutting words off.
"If the kick ain't right, then there will be no babies made" straight gold haha
Abel Munoz was scrolling down to comment that myself
Can I double-like???? Lol

Dawn Dynasty There’s so many good ways to do it too. Serum’s FX section is my go to saturation method. Simple and straight forward

Another Zen gem.. thank you!
Great video...just came across it a couple of days ago and I’ve already gone back to re-watch like four times because it’s just that helpful. Thanks!

How do you make your track sound so clean? I've applied different techniques to spread the sounds in different frequencies and around the stereo spectrum but it still sounds messy and cluttered. Any tips?
Much love
@Orson Use less instruments/drum elements. Like the old saying goes...less is more.
Pay attention to your reverbs (too many with different amounts or samples drenched in reverb can smear the sound), use a correlation meter to see if your sounds are already wide or too wide (some samples and synths are already too wide as it is) and keep things simple (don’t overdo your sections)
this track is amazing

I have one question. Isn't the bit with the lows compression with MB wrong? Just because it is constantly reducing gain, and it isn't recovering. Thanks!

When the Bass goes to low could you add an octave higher of the same sub and mix it in?
