I think pet stores will struggle to stay in business..
Without a law, stores here in Central TX have been doing it for over 10+ years. I havent seen a decrease in sales. If anything the stores doing it on their own has gained respect from people I have asked.
BANNED NOT BAND.
Seems strange that in light of New York's huge spike in crime and economic hardships, that THIS was important enough to get the governor's attention even for a brief moment.
So animals should die, be abused, shelters use even morectaxpayer money?
What about the skank breeder who pay shit in taxes. We should go after them recoup money for public good
How about you spend a day with a rescuer or watch a dog getting dragged to a kill room.
Important question.. now what happens to all of the pets in the pet stores???

I hope "puppy mills" get shut down nation wide! Rescue animals are the way to go!

Totally over due - now they have to make laws that are harsh when you neglect or hurt animal of any kind - it’s a life that also needs to be protected - this is just the start and I congratulate all that put the time and effort into putting this into law - now let’s shut down zoos
Keep in mind that there are many human mills too.
Stores in Central Tx have been doing this successfully on their own without laws for 10+ years. While banning in pet stores it looks to have created more successful individual breeders. To answer you question of " will the law allow the shut down of out of state breeder?" I do not believe it will shut down out of state breeders as people will seek them out if they want these types of animals.

You buy them from the breeders or go tk a shelter and adopt one? The uk pet shops inky sell let supplies and small rodents and sonetime fish but not dogs or cats and we seem to find them just fine so your be ok.
