10 Banned Episodes that were Pulled from Broadcast

- When a new episode premieres on tv, show producers love to see the reception to their new episode but sometimes an audience reaction can to the other way. If something happens in an episode that’s too dark or disturbing, parents or concerned adults will often write to networks to have the episode banned from tv. Today I’m going over 10 episodes that were taken off the air

00:38 - not exactly, no. The title sequence would actually show Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the Toy Story crew sitting down to watch the episode, so I believe the reason none of them are referenced is because the show we're watching is the same in-universe show that Andy watched to get him interested in the Buzz Lightyear franchise before the first movie.
Right, it's the TV show the Buzz toy is based on, same as Woody's Roundup.

Except for season 3.
I like how Gargoyles makes an episode about the dangers of guns and why gun safety is important then stupid parents doing what they do best, complaining, completely misunderstood the message.
American parents, even back then, never seemed to want to do the work of understanding such a message, finding it far easier to blame the people behind the show for something completely asinine. It's something the Simpsons made fun of in the season 2 episode "Itchy & Scratchy & Marge"
@@comettamer Teaching children proper gun safety makes them less scary. If they're less scary, it's harder to take them away from people who you shouldn't be taking them away from.
@@KopperNeoman Nah, you only have to look at the people that use their guns like fashion accessories and refuse to use the word weapon to describe them to show that's not true. Those people tend to be the dumbest with guns and complain about literally any requirements because they don't fully understand or respect what they're holding. You only have to look at which groups support and oppose gun safety to see the reality.
@@KopperNeoman It sure does make them less scary, but not as many parents were willing to admit that.
I swear, the only reason Buzz Lightyear isn't on Disney + is out of pure spite from Pixar. That's why the movie Lightyear exists, to say THAT was the thing that Andy watched that made him want a Buzz toy, not the cartoon series. And that's not the only episode they banned. There was an episode where a small, militant alien race had this major conspiracy to take over the identities of political leaders, leading Buzz to be caught assassinating the fake Galactic President. I forget when they banned the episode, but I'm surprised it got to air in the first place.
Did they ban the gargatian aliens because of it? If it's what I think it is. It's gonna be a dumb reason
I always interpreted it to be Lightyear ( the movie) was the original show that the toyline was made from ( think something like Ghostbusters) and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command ( the show ) was made after the toyline Buzz Lightyear was from proved to be successful and thus a show was made to further promote toys after the movie's shelf life
@@larrychilders6599 The Buzz cartoon series seems like something that's kid friendly and far more in line with the " Andy's Star Wars" concept the movie producers were speaking of. The movie felt like Andy's Star Trek. Something he'd admire when he was older. Personally, I like to think of it as the other way around. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was the original concept, Lightyear was the more adult reboot. Though Pixar DID have disdain for Disney making a cartoon with their characters, which while I want to understand, I just feel is petty. It's not like they made some cheapo cashgrab with Star Command. They had some of their best Disney Afternoon veterans, including Tad Stones, working on it. I didn't dislike the movie (except for the Zurg reveal), but it just paled in comparison to the world building and twisting sci-fi/sci-fantasy concepts. I LOVE the one where Buzz is brainwashed into thinking he's an office worker.

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: the tape opens with the movie toys watching the same tape we're watching, and the tv show opens with the movie toys tuning into the same show we're watching.
Lightyear: opens with a subtitle "this is the movie Andy watched."
Which of these is more of an in universe explanation of where the Buzz toy came from?

My favorite quote in the Buzz Lightyear episode Super Nova is when an incarcerated Mira Nova says "Energy? Please, please give it to me! I need it!"

It always irks me that "Stark Raving Dad" which gave us one of the best musical numbers in all of Simpsons history, got banned because of "Leaving Neverland" even though the latter has apparently been disproven.

@@stayuplateproductions And Aladdin is the only other series based on a movie that's suspiciously absent. Both sequels, including "Return of Jafar" which was the lead in to the series as well as the Hercules crossover episode are on Disney +, but the series itself isn't. Someone told me once it was a bizarre copyright thing, though.
It’s a good thing I got ahead of the nostalgia before Disney and other companies started making money off of it. Scouring the Internet for uploaded episodes of old TV shows from my childhood was commonplace for others like me before Disney+ and Paramount+.

Okay, to correct you, James Wood did not voice Devil Pluto in Minnie Takes Care of Pluto. The VA is actually Penn Jillette, who is best known as one half of the magician duo Penn and Teller.

I actually feel sorry for Pluto. While Pluto does get into mischief at times, But that was NO excuse for Minnie to Behave this way.
I'm pretty sure there were other episodes that revealed the tops of the parents, mainly, that they were missing. Because I've never seen or heard of this episode, and I knew. There's at least and episode where you can see their shadows, and they clearly end at the waist, so they did reuse the gag.
Leaving Neverland was ultimately disproven. There's no longer a good reason to keep that Simpsons episode banned. At this point the people keeping the episode locked away are just being self-serving. The episode doesn't deserve to be banned for all eternity.

Removing the gargoyles kitchen scene was far worse than cutting it all together because you're showing kids that playing with weapons is fun until someone gets hurt and see why. Now it's Only showing kids that playing with weapons is fun.
I wouldn't call Chicken negative. Rude and short tempered is more like it.
as far as I hear about Gargoyles, Disney+ censors many episodes including Deadly Force but the complete series DVD as far as I hear is uncut and uncensored

Bevis and Butthead was NEVER my favorite cartoon as a kid. Ever since, I've seen dumb characters as people you are specifically never to imitate and never to associate with.
You forgot to mention the King Nova had a energy phasing addiction when he was younger. That detail really helped sell the episode to for me.

I love Stark Raving Dad! That's my favorite Simpsons episode because I'm a major Michael Jackson fan. It's so stupid that the episode was pulled because of false allegations against Michael. And the version of Happy Birthday Lisa that wasn't in the show, is way better than the one that was. Fun fact, the only reason that Michael didn't actually sing in the episode was because they couldn't come to an agreement with Michael's record company

Don't forget about another Cow and Chicken Episode that was Banned as well, which is Buffalo Gals which was banned due to the Sexual Innuendo Jokes that were mentioned in the episode and never got played again

The No Smoking episode of Cow & Chicken aired multiple times before being pulled. It was my favorite episode from What a Cartoon Show as a kid, so its sudden absence always puzzled me.

Ahh. Fiw and chicken was the Ren she still fir kids. Despite revenge stumpy being marketed to kids.
While I'm normally a "both sides of the coin" type of person myself, if one side makes sense, and the other side is a Flat Earther or a "not see," then the decision is easy. Showing Mira going through withdrawals makes it "understandable"? *_Exsqueeze_*_ me?!_ I could understand the argument that "Maybe we should say that drugs give you superpowers," and sure there's a nuanced discussion about whether or not you can admit drugs do have _any_ positive benefits. But showing the consequences are literally what angry moms have been asking for all this time. "Hiding" a PSA in a normal episode is a stroke of brilliance.
Also, I can't believe Tiny Toons *s2e03 Elephant Issues* segment *"One Beer"* didn't make the list. Buster, Plucky, and Hamton, share a single beer, somehow all get exceedingly drunk off that one third of a beer, and eventually drive off a cliff, die, and go to Heaven. After _all_ of that, they break the fourth wall (if you even consider Tiny Toons _having_ a fourth wall) and announce that it was all an act to keep kids from drinking or something. It was a similar idea to *"Super Nova"* only handled in the most ridiculous, ham-fisted way possible. But, as explicit as the messaging was, it was also banned, because TV Network executives are dumb.
Most of this episodes tht r banned are still released in our country. Not same as unreleased episode though.
I saw EarShot as a kid, and its my reason why i would NEVER want Telekinesis as a power.
now as an adult i'm watching True Blood and it just firths my choice.

I hate Deadly Force that episode writes Broadway a literal teenage bodyguard as a moron who treats a weapon as a toy he should understand that guns could kill due to being shot at and should have respectfully asked Elisa to teach him how to use it.

If you do another video can I suggest Paw patrol pup fu it's not known why it's been banned but people believe it was because the Asian lady was teaching the characters kung fu or what it's called in the episode pup fu
I honestly dont see why the episode is banned to begin with yeah Michael is a terrible dude, but people still enjoy his music separate the art from the artist after all. What next ban all of his songs? Big whoop he appears in one episode

The obligatory banned/contreversial episodes video. Even though I've seven of these, it still somewhat baffles me episodes like these would be banned, a time where, I thought, TV audience were less sensitive with the content of a show's episode. Although the ban of the Buffy episode is reasonable.
