Who cleans up the tons of powder in hundreds of cities afterwards?
Some churches don't even let people throw confetti or rice anymore because of clean-up costs. ;-)
Not really. Unless the colors are natural ( which are too expensive ) it's bad for the environment, skin and animals. Why not just go to a pub ?
Just like spring is colourful..so this festival is to welcome the the spring as respect to mother nature..HAPPY HOLI🍂
I'll add this on my bucketlist😉
If you want to celebrate it,please don't just do it anywhere
A lot of places it is celebrated aggressively n you'll hate it.
I recommend you to have a milennial indian frnd.

It's made of flower petals so it won't. I have asthama too but I celebrate every year like crazy.
@@nikhiltiwari6923 maybe the one you use are made of flower petals. But gulal everywhere else is powder unless it's herbal gulal which is very expensive. I won't recommend it for asthama patients.

Finally you gave up on the all caps policy. Please, do that with all of your videos. It's much easier to read than the all caps thing.
The thing is, the title of something, a video, or document or anything, is supposed to be capitalized, that way it looks better, formal and proper. So, I guess English isn't your main language, so it's better not to say that.
I wasn't talking about the title. I was talking about the written information inside the video. NatGeo always types the info in caps, which becomes difficult to read.
I’ve always wanted to play Holi but my parents never allowed me to:(

This level of celebrations take place in only few states of India. Majority of the people here celebrate holi only by worshipping fire and lord Vishnu. But diwali is celebrated countrywide with even more enthusiasm, especially in Northern India.
Karan Vir Singh South Indian also celebrate holy as much as north India, may be you are not aware .. few places in Karnataka, it's celebrated for continuous 7 days
But let's be honest, Holi is way more fun
In which city is this located please?
few states? lol...
we norteasterns also celebrate holi
Yeah...but then again...those "few" states" alone account for literally Hundreds of Millions of poeple. #LOL
But...The festival is infact now gaining widespread popularity even in places in India, where it traditionally was NOT celebrated with such gusto.

EDUCACIÓN CULTURAL Y ARTÍSTICA MI LIKE
India isn't a s##t country. Its just that we are a country of 1 billion people with very diverse culture. Hopefully, we will catch up with you western countries in terms of quality and infrastructure. all these problems can be eradicated by education. If enough of our people are liberated from poverty by education, then that day isn't far away where our country will join the list of developed nation!
Saurabh Yadav I believe it is coming soon, india has a good amount of doctors, psychologist and engineers and together they can shape the population
Lmao I agree with you but the videos about Holi
China is a country with over 1 billion people and a diverse culture yet they're one of the biggest modern leaders in infrastructure and design. India is so rooted in both religion, and deep culture and history it's traditionalistic system puts them at claw when compared to other third world countries. Along with India's government which is failing to support such a vast country, india will buckle under itself.
"With very diverse culture"
Well.. a country which has a low level of tolerancy is dont have many diversity. That's what made them intolerance.
If india is so diverse, then how about the intolerance thing? Muslim, black people, judge people based on the skin color, gender, race.
Saurabh Yadav well, developed countries have many pathalogical problems of it's own. But India has a very long way to go to being a country with good enough living conditions. I live in a chawl in Mumbai with poor infrastructure all around and the authority in charge of these chawls don't do much to help us residents in terms of the water supply problem, decent enough sanitation and roadworks. Gratefully I am not born in a slum where conditions are a great notch worse than in the chawls here. It will probably take half a century or even a century long for India to become tremendously clean and decent enough for living. But i also notice that India is becoming very capitalistic and seems to be copying the capitalistic US and other such western countries. We ignore the suicides of the farmers in Maharashtra but would have Modi gladly ink the thousands of crores deal with Japan for a fucking bullet train to connect the city of Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Then there was the stupid demonitisation move which actually resulted in the deaths of so many people. It was a thoroughly botched implementation which affected the poor people terribly even as the rich and the privileged lauded the unnecessary move.

Not wishing to be the fly in the ointment, but has anyone researched what breathing in all that coloured powder clouding the streets does to one's lungs?
Lovely colours and all, and quite the celebration, but those clouds of powder being breathed in........
Actually the real Holi in villages is played with natural colours and it's lasts only for some time so there is no serious damage to worry about 🙂. And after breathing the pollution that we have in the atmosphere it is almost harmless. It's Holi today so happy holi.
