Having perused your website and reading about Sharing the Wins, I have to share this. On May 13th skiing Squaw w/a big pack of 15 or more. There were 5-6 who live or work near Squaw and they're certainly the best & fastest. Proud to say I'm the best-fastest of the non-Tahoe skiers in the pack. It wasn't intended, but I somehow managed to catch up to the fast 4 20-someting yr old shredders. They were waiting for the next lift when I was spending in and they were CHEARING me on the catch up. I'm STILL stoked when I remember this! It's been a LONG time since I've gotten cheers, and this OG is just flattered and mind-blown to make friends, keep up, and ski w/real Squaw skiers. This is next level shiz that I never once Dreamed of! I never imagined starting to Send would open so many doors and introduce me to so many wonderful like-minded people. Thrill of a LIFETIME!

Been skiing for 15+ years and I finally started doing some baby jumps (about a foot and a half of air) and rode a box (at a very slow speed) on my last ski day lmaooo. I was just carefully winging it. But this is so informative! I need to work on my pops. Do you think it’s necessary or beneficial to trick with poles? I really don’t like using them but I need them to scoot on flat terrain sometimes, otherwise I just hold them in one hand so I can use my arms to balance, maneuver, for momentum etc
been skiing since 9, never tried freestyles before, im 19 now and finally saw the beauty of it and am trying to learn it, I feel it is too late comparing to other kids who grew up on the slope..
This was one of the best tutorials about beginning tricks out there. I’m going skiing in a week again and I want to learn how to do a rail slide. amazing video!! i just have a question about my skis, i dont have the curve form on the back of my skis, does it mean i cant perform the 180 or the spins, or does it just make it a little bit more difficult?
Hi!! Beginner here :) Which one would you recommend for beginners who want a little challenge? I've been looking around and only finding some that are either for extreme professionals or basic skills. I haven't skied in a while so I'm not sure which ones would be ideal for me :D
@@BruceOldhamYeah thanks a lot when the snowing season comes this year I’m going to be practicing almost all of these especially the shifty it was my dream trick last year but after seeing this video I think I can do it this year thanks again this is going to help 👍
What point would you say is a good place to start learning tricks? A couple days ago I went on my first black diamond and was able to get down relatively well but idk if I should keep working the basics before I start learning tricks
You can learn tricks at almost any stages, but for more advanced one, you will need a stronger base and more experience. But I would also say that learning how to do 360’s on the ground or jumps can improve your ski because you will learn to centrer yourself and stay in control.
Hey Bruce, I have a question, do you know how to flair in the halfpipe? I have been wondering how to do it. If you do can you make a video on how to do it, if not thats ok.
Hey Oliver! I can flair in a half pipe! - If you want help with it message me on IG I can give you a few pointers there ❤️ also I have a ton of better tutorials and provide in-depth 1 on 1 coaching in my program slopeacadmey.com
@bruce I’ve recently started learning some tricks and I really want to try the shifty, but I’m worried about injury - twisting my ancle specifically. What would you say are the risks with the shifty and what precautions can I take? Thanks!
Hey bro!! - Thanks for reaching out and the input G ❤️ I will deffinetly put out some more advance tricks eventually... but I actually have and entire coaching program with in depth tutorials on all tricks all the way up to triple corks 🤟🏼 If you want to check that out a get some 1 on 1 coaching go to slopeacademy.com if you don't like it you can always get a refund ❤️
@@BruceOldham i can only jump with those but like u did in the video I tried the Ollie but it it’s kinda heavy to lift off ground and it’s not flexible cause it’s like titanium
Hey man I know this video is 8 Months old and you might not be reading this but do you have any tips in how to become more confident when hitting bigger jumps. Like Ive been skiing since 15 years and I would say pretty advanced skier but still when I ski towards the jumps I don't have any confidence in my landing skills etc. Thanks in advance and great video
big big jump or normal jump? normal jumps for me works jumping in a way which causes rotation in the jump. so that you know the slope at which you take the jump is going to be decreased by this force. i am not great at jumps tho, i can only do tricks up to the 360
Yeah there's many ways to build confidence, a lot of time it comes down to putting miles on the right progressions and have someone you trust tell you you're ready... but for all these trick, you pretty much can't get hurt, minus a briuse or two
How much of a difference does the type of skii i own make when it comes to jumping and turning mid-air, etc.? Currently, I have some volkl slalom skis, but I'm browsing for some freestyle skis. I feel like my skis are so rigid that it's hard for me to bend them or get any decent air time without needing some great speed and a big bump. Or maybe my legs aren't that strong?😅
Im responding a bit late but: usually freestyle skis are lighter, longer and a lot more flexible (less rigid), which in other terms makes it way easier to hit a jump comfortably and staying in control. Also, lighter skis makes it easier to turn mid air (: 180’s, 360’s, etc). But you still can make a lot of progress using regular skis but freestyle ones just makes it simpler and faster.
the first and best trick to learn is how to ride a mono ski, and then, riding one with your boots tilted sideways at that point you're ready to snowboard and you're good to go
Hey man!! Glad you liked it! There will be more, how ever I have longer in depth tutorials on easy trick and provide coaching and feedback in slopeacademy.com plus we have a sale on right now ;)

Thanks homie!! ❤️❤️❤️
amazing video!! i just have a question about my skis, i dont have the curve form on the back of my skis, does it mean i cant perform the 180 or the spins, or does it just make it a little bit more difficult?
Hey great question! I’m glad you like the video 🤘🏼 you can still do 180’s on the skis you haven
except for the fact that you can catch that back edge youre all good
Yeah but it's relatively low risk
Hey man i love watching your videos but i was wondering what skis you are wearing in tgis video thanks!
Hi!! Beginner here :) Which one would you recommend for beginners who want a little challenge? I've been looking around and only finding some that are either for extreme professionals or basic skills. I haven't skied in a while so I'm not sure which ones would be ideal for me :D
Let us coach you in www.slopeacademy.com 😄❤️🤟🏼
My best friend and me loves you thanks for having inspired me

@@BruceOldhamYeah thanks a lot when the snowing season comes this year I’m going to be practicing almost all of these especially the shifty it was my dream trick last year but after seeing this video I think I can do it this year thanks again this is going to help 👍
Awesome tips …thanks!!! 🤟🏻🤩
No problem!! Happy to help!
i ride board but i want to start skiing bc of you bro
Ty! I’ve been skiing from when I was 2 to now, but I never took the time to learn tricks 😭
Ohh man! You have to take the time to learn these man! 😍
Can u make a video just like this but one step up? So like 360s first rail etc
Great video. What length ski's are you using and how tall are you?
Yo, your outfit looks so insanely baggy. I love it. Which sizes (jacket and pant) do you wear to get the baggyness? L /XL/ XXL?
It's XL pants and medium jacket!
What are some things you could you teach at slope academy for an medium park ski who can’t quite hit a rail yet
Well… how to hit a rail ;)
Whats the name of the skies? Love the video
The skis are tom wallisch pro's! and thanks man!
Hey Bruce, I have a question, do you know how to flair in the halfpipe? I have been wondering how to do it. If you do can you make a video on how to do it, if not thats ok.

@bruce I’ve recently started learning some tricks and I really want to try the shifty, but I’m worried about injury - twisting my ancle specifically. What would you say are the risks with the shifty and what precautions can I take? Thanks!
Thanks awesome man!! Not really any risks of injuries on there man! If you want help with you skiing check out www.slopeacademy.com ❤️🤟🏼
do you think you could cover some beginner intermediate and extreme tricks?

hey just wondering were do u usually ski also awesome vid
I usually travel for ski contests, but I'm from Ontario Canada!
What skis do you use? Love the vid❤️!
Line Tom Wallish Pros!!
@@BruceOldham also I’m on those skis that like is use for cruise and there heavy but how I can do tricks?
@@BruceOldham i can only jump with those but like u did in the video I tried the Ollie but it it’s kinda heavy to lift off ground and it’s not flexible cause it’s like titanium
Is it better and safer to freestyle with sticks or without
I have actually been training all of these this winter but im just scared to do 180 and go bakwards
Keep it. up man! If you want help check out www.slopeacademy.com
Can ypu do this on carving skis?
Hey man I know this video is 8 Months old and you might not be reading this but do you have any tips in how to become more confident when hitting bigger jumps. Like Ive been skiing since 15 years and I would say pretty advanced skier but still when I ski towards the jumps I don't have any confidence in my landing skills etc. Thanks in advance and great video
big big jump or normal jump? normal jumps for me works jumping in a way which causes rotation in the jump. so that you know the slope at which you take the jump is going to be decreased by this force. i am not great at jumps tho, i can only do tricks up to the 360
@@pasticcinideliziosi1259 alright man I hear you, have to try it in a few weeks when I can finally start the season :D thanks
Yeah for sure! I would happily help you our in www.slopeacademy.com
Hi just quick question how did you build your trust like I'm scared to try a rail I don't wanna fall on my butt and break something
Yeah there's many ways to build confidence, a lot of time it comes down to putting miles on the right progressions and have someone you trust tell you you're ready... but for all these trick, you pretty much can't get hurt, minus a briuse or two
Insane💯
Thanks boss!!!
Dope snow 😂
Really cool video and i really like the pants.
Do you know where they are from?
Thanks man! It's Dopesnow pants
How important are freestyle skies for all of this?
They definitely help!!
Yo any tips on how to 270 out from a rail?
Yeah man!! Tons, I’d be happy to coach you in Slopeacademy.com man!!!
is is safer to try tricks with ski poles or without them? i fear i might get impaled of one of them lol
Honestly its not really any safer 😄🤟🏼
Tutorial on how to land a double cork 2160 next plz
Ahahah go to Slopeacademy.con lol I will teach you on trampoline
What skis do you recommend for a 12 year old and they have twine tips? Btw you are such a good skier
Thanks man!!! Any skis that is centre mounted and twin tips, go to the local shop and see what they suggest, line skis are great!
Yoo Nice video bit can you please tell me what that place is called
Oh no need to tell me that i just found it en the video bit still a great video
Ahahah okay good love it ;)
the first and best trick to learn is how to ride a mono ski, and then, riding one with your boots tilted sideways
at that point you're ready to snowboard and you're good to go
Great tutorial i hope there is a part 2 coming with little bit harder tricks...
Hey man!! Glad you liked it! There will be more, how ever I have longer in depth tutorials on easy trick and provide coaching and feedback in slopeacademy.com plus we have a sale on right now ;)
Yess thanks man👍💯
ive learn pretty much everything in the video but im having a hard time with the shifty and 5050 shifty, any advice ?
That’s awesome man!! I would love to coach you on that in Slopeacademy.com boss ❤️❤️
