The moral of the story is that Zeus sucks and doesn't deserve his knee caps.
That’s basically the hidden moral of 80% of all Greek myths or more ;/

Many first reason human worship god in greek myth always started with "fear"
Yeah Zeus kinda sucks in all of the stories almost, it seems...
Our boi Prometheus the real MVP.

Yep. Zeus is overrated
@@jackdarby2168 it's not the original it's just created story
If you really listen to the stories of Zeus, he really is worse than Hades
Exactly. Hades almost always minded his own business. The few times he interacts with humans are when they visit the underworld directly...
I think Hades is honestly the most just among his brothers. I just think being the overseer of the Underworld puts him in a negative light.
Hades was never bad to begin with, dont mix him with the Hollywood Hases, he was a stern but just ruler governing the Underworld and he never had lashed out in mortals like his brethren.

He hung hera over a primordial void. Hes crazy.
He's done worse.
So Zeus got mad at Prometheus for creating his future side chicks, then proceeds to go after everyone that intervened (I mean look at what happened to Sisyphus)? 🤔
no not rlly if prometheus never gave fire and k owledge to us zeus would be much happier than finding a gurl the doing it with them =/
@@nillythelich688 Actually, I think Hera would. She is the one who is always jealous (rightfully so) that her husband was always going out with these girls. Hera can't really cheat because she was the goddess of marriage and other stuff so it would be kinda wrong. Many of the heroes in Greek myth are sons and daughters of Zeus and were demihuman, meaning that he was most likely out hitting up human women more than hitting up Hera.
@@leonalionheart1398
True, though Zeus was not limited to humans, nymphs and other godesses were his targets as well, her main issue would have been when Zeus was boasting about it since it would be an insult toward her and gods were very prideful.
The Olympian gods sounds really evil. They do all sins. Revenge, jealousy envy punishment for pleasure. all kinds
The olympians where the aspects of human nature they represent the best and worst of us
It was like, they put all the evil things in Pandora's Box and sent Pandora down to humanity. But even though evil is not yet created that time, they were already evil gods and goddesses. I can't help but think that the evil was not the humans left alone with the good things but rather the evilness of the gods and goddesses themselves.
Ever heard of the saying “we’re created in God(s)’s image”? We take after our creator(s).
@BMATRIX or its just our scientific nature lol. We are animals, some animals attack on sight , some attack for food , some attack out of fear , some attack for dominance and then some will never attack even when their life is in danger. Humans are just animals that are at least 30% more intelligent than a monkey so our raging primal actions are catastrophic when compared to that of well monkeys. God and gods are just peoples way of getting by lol no truth to them at all but what is life when you believe in nothing , right ?
@@connorgolden4 This statement is for lazy people that refuse to become better.
That's why Kratos killed Zeus for being selfish.
Especially for Athena, she admired Prometheus’s creation and contributed much to humanity’s success with fire. So much so, she would help complete Kratos revenge against the Olympians, and attempt to persuade him of her “rightful” rule over humanity with the power of Pandora’s Box. Which *might* also be a plot point in GOW Ragnorak, I hope.

Prometheus sounds a lot like Jesus Christ in the Greek mythology.
Creating life on the earth, and sacrificing his own life to save humanity.
He has more parallels with Lucifer than Jesus though.
Exactly
Wouldn't ya say prometheus is like God cause they say God created us in his image so jesus would be prometheus's son
You summed that up better than I was going to Patrick Rose.
@@lungelontlebi7597 1. Lucifer means light bringer/light bearer. Prometheus was also a light bearer.
2. Prometheus was wisest among the Titans. Lucifer was brightest amongst the angels. Bright is a cognate for wise.
3. Both were higher beings but lesser than a God. Angels are lesser than God while Titans (Prometheus was a titan) are seen as lesser than the Olympians because they lost the war against them.
4. Both acted against the will of the Highest authority. Zeus/Yahweh
5. Both were rebellious in nature and seen as a trickster, Prometheus betrayed the Titans before he betrayed Zeus while Lucifer betrayed God and the angels.
6. Both gave Man something that they should not possess which is knowledge.
Prometheus disobeyed Zeus and stole fire from Mount Olympus then gave it to man and from it learned a thousand arts which gave birth to the first civilization. Lucifer disobeyed God and gave the forbidden fruit from the tree of life to Adam and Eve which gave them knowledge of good and evil i.e. reasoning which then also lead to the first civilization. Prometheus also gave man the gift of reasoning upon their creation.
7. Both were punsihed for this act of knowledge giving and cast down from heaven/olympus. Stripped of their divinity and condemned to suffer for eternity.
8. Both represented the sin pride but the difference is intent. Prometheus rebelled against Zeus because Prometheus was prideful of his creation, he is a god of craft after all. While Lucifer rebelled because he was prideful of himself and wanted to be equal with God.
I would say Jesus, Lucifer and Prometheus belong to the same archetype told in different ways. Maybe??... Idk. But Lucifer and Prometheus definitely have more similarities, characteristic of a liberator archetype.
Prometheus is the one deity that I can think of who never did anything wrong. He protected his creations and chose the side that would allow life to to on. He was a good guy.
O rr
Let's add Hestia to the list, as well!
In one of the books I've read a long time ago, it says that a long time has passed since Prometheus's endured the gruelsome punishment given by Zeus. One day Hercules - son of Zeus, passed by, and saw Prometheus's heart once again being ripped out by the wicked raven. Hercules killed the raven and set Prometheus free from his chains. He then pleaded to his father to release the Titan from his everyday torture. It was only then did Zeus finally ageed to set Prometheus free again, under one condition that he would still have to wear a pair of bracelets to remind everybody of his punishment and that they should never disobey a God like Zeus.
Hope this is canon though, Prometheus really deserves some Peace and Freedom after all he has done and endured for mankind and humanity.
Agreed
thanks god ❤
which god ??? 🤔
@@mongubatun6066 The one and only. Prometheus🙏
Goes to show Herakles is really Zeus' favorite child, besides Athena. What a chad! Prometheus created and gave us fire, while Herakles symbolises the endurance and ingenuity of humanity. For example, his triumph over the Hydra symbolises humanity's ability to turn swampland into fertile soil for agriculture
Sounds like a Olympian disinformation
Prometheus is one of the best creation god, not only he created mankind, he also gave them fire. With his power of foresight, he knew that he will suffer eternal torment yet he still stole the flame, because he loves mankind, he loves his creation.
Thanks, Prometheus. And thank you too, Heracles for freeing the titan.

Hades was faithful to his wife Persephone, he allowed Orpheus to take Eurydice back to the living world as long as he did not look back while traveling from the Underworld to the living world (but Orpheus was an idiot and looked back losing his love for the second time) and told Heracles during his 12th labor that he can take Cerberus to Eurystheus as long as he did not use any weapons.
@@serbianslav5494 plus Hade's job required him to be cold and ruthless because if Hades acted like how Zeus and Poseidon did at their jobs then it would have been a large problem and Hades even allowed the soul of King Sisyphus to go back to the world of the living for one day to take revenge on his wife for not giving him the burial reserved for a king in which SIsyphus tricked him and fled from Hades which explains why he needs to be cold and doesn't gets his emotions in his way

I’ve never heard the version where Athena was the one who suggested fire.
Well, now you have
Athena is actually a good goddess in Greek, only Ovid (a Roman poet) made her bad because of the Arachne and Medusa Stories. In Greek, Medusa was originally born a gorgon, but Ovid made her the cursed priestess of Athena, and Arachne is a story made by him. I have a theory that he hated the goddess Athena (Minerva in Roman)
The thing that baffles me the most is that zeus who is the king of gods and Indra who is the god of rain and lightning likewise are both portrayed as aholes sometimes. I guess our ancestors hated irregular weather patterns
Zeus King of the Olympic Gods, wields thunder and lightning. Indra King of the Devas ( Devaloka) , wields thunder and lightning. Both known for having a weakness for women and suspicious of anyone overthrowing them. Basically they are the same,
The truth maybe both are Indo European thunder deities. The horse men and charioteers did swift looting plundering and r*ping from the agriculturalists. They therefore prayed and identified with the thunder gods as an allegory for their swift attacks. Also after they established dominance over the agriculturalist while settling down and creating the warrior class, they regarded their patron thunder gods as the chief deity, higher in rank than the agricultural gods.
After this initial establishment they forgot how their myths came to be. And also the irregular weather patterns can be compared to the irrationalities of the human mind, the raw will to power. Their Zeus and Indra became aholes.
And you know Zarathustra initiated a revolt in respect, he classified the Devas of the attacking hoards as demons and Asura/Ahura ( Titan) as the "truth" and the "good". Ahura Mazda is similar to Prometheus in this respect. Similar movement also happened in India during the Puranic age( the age after the Aryans settled on the Ganga valley), a movement from the worship of Devas to 'Bhagwan'( supreme lord Krishna). The story of Krishna and the Govardhan mountain is a allegory for that.
For the Greeks, they moved from offering to deities with arbitrary mood kind of 'religio' to a more philosophical way of life starting with Socrates, eventually which led to their convertion to Christianity, which borrowed heavily from Greek philosophy.
So this is kind of the inspiration for the story of Lucifer and Jesus combined
Prometheus gone but never forgotten
The story isn’t complete without the part of Hercules rescuing Prometheus
