TWIN LIVE RELEASES SHOWCASE LEGENDARY BAND’S VERSATILITY AND POWER
Status Quo are to release a pair of ‘twin’ live albums, ‘Down Down & Dignified At The Royal Albert Hall’ and ‘Down Down & Dirty At Wacken’ on 17 August through earMUSIC. These releases capture the legendary band delivering two sets, each full of hits, energy and passion, while each offering a radically different tone and style of delivery.
Francis Rossi said, “There’s no other venue like the Royal Albert Hall, every artist wants to play there. So, to bring our Aquostic show there was a dream come true. The Quo classics were stripped back and delivered by the band in a new fresh way that really allows the melodies to shine. Fully acoustic and featuring some fantastic extra musicians and vocalists, this is a show we’ll always be proud of.”

Status Quo have sold more than 118 million records, received countless gold awards and top 10 singles, played over 6000 shows together and spent 23 years away from home on tour to rock around the world. The line-up for both these shows, recorded last year, features Francis Rossi, Andrew Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards, Leon Cave and Richie Malone.
‘Down Down & Dignified At The Royal Albert Hall’ and ‘Down Down & Dirty At Wacken’ demonstrate both the evergreen quality of the timeless Quo catalogue, the sheer musicianship and stagecraft required to deliver those hits, and the versatility of the band.

Rock'n'Roll has the best fans in the world. You can see teens sing along songs that were written 20 or 30 years before their birth.
This was written in 1975.....quite a bit earlier than 20 or 30 years.....

Status Quo - "Down Down" from the 1975 album "On the Level" was a favourite of mine here in Montreal, Quebec Canada and was in my rotation as a Free Lance DJ...There's nothing like the energy of Rock n Roll. :-)

They tried to crack the American market in the mid 70's - and this was the make or break radio jam. They didn't make it.
Virtually unknown in the USA today. I saw them 3 times - they toured constantly. I really liked them.

Have watched them Live in Australia since 1974. This Line-up is very, very good and tight. New blood has ensured some more high quality life in Quo. I look forward to them in Ozzz next tour. Qou man all my life. I would like to see them take on "Women in Uniform" by the Skyhooks. I think Quo would do a better job and may have a big hit. I miss Rick but shit he rocked to the very end. He was brilliant as is Richie Malone. A very good rhythm and lead.

It's funny since it amuses and annoys Rossi at the same time. There's an interview where he asks the interviewer how many notes make up a chord, She didn't know, How many notes it takes to change a chord, She didn't know and admitted she didn't know what she was talking about.
Also my brother has tried learning the rhythm guitar of their songs. He says they may look simple but they are actually quite tricky to play.
Without rick no quo... get a life people and enjoy the music while you still have it! They still put up a real good performance. Yes rick is missed and god bless his soul bit he's gone! Just enjoy the things you still have and make the most of it

It's not always so easy to find the right person.
It was Rossi that kicked everyone out of the band, first Coghlan, then Lancaster. He wanted to get rid of Parfitt as well so that he is in total control. He should be charged with crimes against rock for ruining one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.

Thomas Becker sorry but quo isn’t over. I saw them live in Dubai and it was amazing. Do you suggest they quit and the younger people can never see this awesome band again? That’s mental. Richie and Leon are 2 of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Andy and rhino have been in the band for 30 years. If you want to listen to the frantic 4 then go dig out your rocking all over the world album. Let us true quo fans enjoy the music until they decide to die or quit
Aye, the Frantic Four reunion was fun but fuck me were they sloppy as shit on that tour. John Coughlan can't play for shit (though he was never great). I just watched this and thought it was bloody good. So please, for the sake of actual Status Quo fans... fuck off.

Absolutely agree. The awesome Frantic Four reunion gigs 2013/14 would have been the ideal opportunity to end a wonderful long career in the best possible way, because that would have closed the circle. At the latest after Rick's death, Francis should have finally closed the Status Quo chapter. RIP Rick and Alan!

The end of the frantic 4 tour was the real end of Quo . . . the Donnington performance was passable at best but for those who have seen the real Quo this is just the Rossi cover band.

Going to see them support Lynard Skynard. Looking forward to it. They still might be fun but would prefer to see Rick. This guy seems like a typical mediocre, processed session musician. Don’t think anybody could replace Rick but think they could have chosen better.

What's really sad is the crowd gave the band nothing for actual bangers like Rain and Paper Plane but In The Army Now got a bonkers reaction because HOLY SHIT SABATON COVER.
Quo have lost their rhythm since 2005 onwards , problem with metalheads they can only listen to one style . Quo should give up the ghost too though - Rock has died
Rossi has been saying the same thing, he doesn't understand why they are getting invited to this kind of gig actually.. And remember once they were headlining this events all by themselves.. ;-)
