Yeah, it definitely rides better in low to mid level content, and with a lot of solo stuff. I mainly use it as my "hehhehe funny ball build" when im messing around either alone or with friends, or for stuff like legend lost sectors. For anyone wanting to try it yourself, id recommend using lights a bit more than mactics did, as with voilitile they hit harder, and do good stun on stuff like wyverns. My gameplay loop is Dodge for Invis, throw lights to proc volitile, blocking when health is low, then slamming when big crowds or low on ammo, which tends to loop you back into invis. Then ya just keep it going, saving dodge for if you break the loop/need to retreat. Overall though, really glad the build got some love, and really appreciate the video!
@Gunslinger8912 lmao, fair enough. To be fair though, he ended up using the build with a slightly different gameplay loop than me, and his mods reflect that. I like keeping/having my dodge up at all times to restart the loop or get outta danger as needed, and to proc Reaper consistently.
This is the build I use! I honesty didn't think anyone else used this combo. My build focuses more on going in and out of invisibility to keep Gyrfalcon up as much as possible to clear out trash. - Deadfall (Super is up to you, but I prefer this) - Stylish Executioner + Trapper's Ambush - Echoes of Obscurity (Could swap this out for something else) + Starvation + Persistence + Undermining - Dodges, jump and grenade are up to your preference - Primary is up to you - Ruinous Effigy (Main weapon of choice for non-boss targets) - Retrofit Escapade (Fourth Time's the Charm + Target Lock, Main boss DPS) Stat focus should be Res + Dis - Helmet - Harmonic Siphon + Special Ammo Finder + Heavy Ammo Finder - Hands - Momentum Transfer + Impact Induction + Harmonic Loader (Most likely gonna wanna swap Impact Induction out, and Loader if you're comfortable with your reloads) - Chest - Harmonic Resistance + Harmonic Reserves + (My third slot is empty right now, but a Melee or AOE Resistance might help) - Boots - Void Weapon Surge + Harmonic Holster + Absolution - Cloak - Reaper + Bomber + Powerful Attraction
“A Song Of Ice and Fire” Winter is coming, guardian. Ensure your readiness should the long winter befall us once more. This build absolutely abuses the artifact perks, turning enemies into freeze-dried chicken nugget dust. And the best part is, it’s got room for customization, allowing you to fine tune the synergies for that perfect pop! -The build- Exotic armor: pretty flexible in terms of how it interacts with the loop. I’m running stag because it looks cool, literally. Karnstein armlets would work well and provide healing. Exotic weapon: Sunshot isn’t 100% integral to the loop, but the artifact mods make it OP and it’s easy to activate radiant via the “Torch” artifact mod. YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST ONE SOLAR WEAPON TO ACTIVATE RADIANT. Helmet mods: thermodynamic siphon (for orbs from solar and stasis weapon kills), heavy or special ammo finder(whichever you use more of) Arm mods: impact induction (for more grenades), firepower(for orbs on grenade kill), fastball (optional) Chest mods: resist, harmonic reserves(for more chill clip ammo capacity) Leg mods: recouperation(for healing on orb pick up), double solar surge(to make sure Sunshot gets the kill(s) and activates radiant) Class item mods: bomber(for more grenades), time dilation(for longer solar surge), powerful attraction(optional, but does help grab orbs that are in dangerous spots) -Weapons- Kinetic: Riptide(chill clip) Energy: Sunshot Heavy: Typhon GL5 (chill clip. This slot is optional, but multiple stasis debuff sources are a big help) -Key artifact mods- Flame, fiber, and freeze(to combine siphon mods) Kindling trigger(to apply scorch damage/buff Sunshot) Flint striker(for radiant) Torch(for bonus damage) Hail the storm(for increased damage and stasis debuff) Rays of precision(for BOOM) The rest are interchangeable, but I prefer to build into stasis, as mods like pillar of ice and dragon’s bite just makes you more powerful. -Abilities- Healing rift Burst glide Penumbral blast Glacier grenade(coldsnap would also work great, just less cover) -Aspects- Iceflare bolts(for stasis seekers) Glacial harvest(for stasis shards) -Fragments- Fissures(for increase damage) Bonds(for orbs) Chains(for resilience) Rime(for overshield/resilliance) -The loop- Step 1: use Sunshot to get radiant(via flint striker) and clean up any low-level enemies Step 2: throw glacier grenade to freeze enemies or provide cover Step 3: pop rift near cover/frozen enemy Note: you should be fairly resilient by now thanks to whisper of chains + healing rift. Also, while radiant, weapons deal increased damage to stasis debuffed enemies via torch artifact mod Step 4: defeat enemies with chill clip weapon while in rift (to get some stasis seekers on the field thanks to iceflare bolts aspect) Note: powered melee can also be used to get a stasis seeker on the field Step 5: switch back to Sunshot and start popping frozen enemies(once radiant, you’ll deal increased damage to enemies effected by stasis debuff via torch artifact mod) Once abilities regen, which should be quick enough, restart the loop.
I love how this series just took off. it's such a good concept! I'm sure that your fan base is experimenting with the weaker or lesser used exotics to get featured
This was a really common build back when Gyrfalcon dropped. I used it for a couple weeks in stuff like strikes and gambit and bumped into a bunch of people playing the same build. Guillotine works well with it in your heavy slot.
Clearly, Matics, is not a grape gun enthusiast. Which honestly fair enough. But what I would recommend as a gameplay loop, drop both the charged up for damage res, or reserve mods. Then use the ‘utility kickstart slot’ for reaper. Here’s why. When you use your dodge, as some of you may know, or may have just learned watching this video, it deletes the grape ball. Now, what we usually do, us hunters that is, is produce a ball, dodge towards it, to proc invisibility, before using the guard drain, which both heals you, damages nearby combatants, and count’s as void weapon damage, and so will proc volatile from gyrfalcons. This is for add clear, for bosses. There isn’t much this build can do for you. But what you can do as a nice thing, is use the balls as little ‘grenades’ so to speak, assuming the boss has a ton of adds to take advantage of. If not, really, this build only shines in lower end content. If you want something with gyrs thats for more high end content, might I recommend either the new sidearm, or the vexcalibur build shown recently on the channel itself. These were just some words of advice from a hunter main, who loved the ruinous effigy once, when I was but a mere solo lost sector enjoyer.
One thing to keep in mind: The Catalyst gives Ruinous Effigy about a 25-30% buff on targets that were recently damaged by the spheres made by REffigy. Not to say it's a go-to for boss damage but you can get a decent bump up in it's damage if you run out of heavy or need to finish it off.
Bonus Fact about Ruinous: - (Yes) when energy is out, drain drains you for more and more dmg (and will straight up kill you) over time, even if you try to stop and re-proc it or have devour. - Energy while draining goes away a bit faster when low - Draining also acts as a sword guard, mitigating dmg from all directions by about 80% - While drain can also benefit from Gyr volitile, the Gyr volitile effect deactivates while invis (was sad about this) - to add to the last, you can curcumvent the deactivation by usn the melee atk after the drain to re-proc. After melee (which also blinds), you can go back to drain or you can slam - While all other orb dmg "dissorients" enemies, buff to Ruin allows for orb slam to suppress enemies (procs actual suppression effects, also champs) - The Orb slam does more dmg depending on how much ammo it has (this might have changed). - If you have the catty for ruinous, ANY dmg from orb (light, drain, or slam) allows the ruinous laser to deal increased dmg to effected targets (about 30%)
With vanishing step, when you use it, immediately hold whatever button you use to pick up items, and it should pick up the orb while dodging. So you essentially drop it, but pick it up again.
Solar Warlock Invincibility Boss Shredder build. Fragments: Solace, Torches, Ashes, and Empyrean Aspects: Heat rises. I use Touch of Flame for extra DPS but if you like Icarus Dash you can use it. Fusion/Solar grenade (I use Fusion grenade for faster cool down), Incinerator snap, Pheonix Dive, and Well of Radiance. Crafted Ammit AR2 Full Bore, Ricochet Rounds, Incandescent, and Stats for all. I use Dragon's Breath and seasonal fusion (If crafted god roll that is better) Mods: (I prioritize resiliance) Helmet: Harmonic Siphon x2, Solar Targeting Arms: Focusing Strike x2, Fastball..... (I know you don't like it) Chest: Void, Solar, Arc resistance Legs: Absolution, Insulation, and Orbs of Restoration Class: Distribution, Bomber, and Reaper To start loop you need to activate heat rises then pheonix dive, this will activate restoration x2 and make you invincible (basically). You will use your powered melee to get radiant or use artifact mods. You will use Ammit and with artifact mods you will get ignitions with precision kills, and proc incandescant with kills that are precision or non-precision. That gives you invincibility, but we need the boss shredder. When in DPS you use well then go: grenade, melee, grenade, melee, on and on. Once you run out of infinite ability cool down you use god roll fusion and dragon's breath for extra DPS and then continue to be invincible and shred bosses. Hill_Billy406- Fireteam Taco is my clan. If you read this thank you for your time Mactics.
I have used this build for years, I love it. Ruinous effigy+gyrfalcons is such a fun build to run. Draining enemies while you have volatile rounds makes them volatile as well, even if you're invisible. So you can drain enemies and make them volatile all while invisible and then heavy slam to kill them and immediately turn invis again.
One thing to note that after dunking on a target and if it doesn't get killed, shooting effigy will give bonus damage to that target until the debuff wears off. The exotic interaction (both armor and weapon) lacks synergy because, like you mentioned, the sphere generation is a 50/50 while volatile round is active and the odds of making one gets significantly low when having a fireteam who may rob your kills before you could deliver the final blow and in high end content the odds are significantly getting lower. Until Ruinous effigy gets a buff it stays in my collection for now. There is hope and potential for the weapon, not just now...
This build is actually really amazing. This is what I used after lightfall came out to beat master root of nightmares and master nightfalls. With just ruinious efegy you can deal with both barrier champs and overload champs. Also the orbs don't count as special ammo so it will spawn special and heavy ammo. The problem is that matics didn't use the build correctly. If used correctly, it rips on everything but gms.
Please try sixth coyote strand hunter with wellspring/demo judgment of kelgorath. Spectre and Marlstrom. Quicksilver or Final Warning or even new bow when it’s out, solar or strand heavy (cataphract/apex). Dealers choice grenade but I like threadlings. Point is, you will always have grenade and ability energy, grenade damage feeds into ability energy, decoy takes all the attention, reaper gives woven mail and surge. This build works in all end game content. Absolutely carried me through solo flawless warlords, especially the second encounter.
I have to say it’s reassuring seeing all these builds I’ve come up with in the past make it into your videos. 😊 the assassin cowl strand build was the first strand build I ever used bc assassin’s cowl was my go to exotic for hunter when strand dropped. And it’s still great on just about every subclass except void but you can still use it on void if you wanted to. Just a little redundant but the life gain is handy although it really just frees up one armor mod slot and one fragment slot. That’s not nothing but clearly there are better options for void. The exotic combo featured in this particular video was the first thing I did with the Gerfalcons lol I used a mod from the seasonal artifact too but I can’t remember what it was atm. 😅 but the blocking field produced by the transmutation sphere not making u visible….chefs kiss. Lol
Folk forgot about Ruinous Effigy? Clearly i must fix that with a build that i ran ever sense Mantle of Battle Harmony came out. Harmonious Ruin Featured Exotics: Ruinous Effigy, Mantle of Battle Harmony Subclass Voidwalker - Vortex Nova Bomb Empowering Rift Glide of choice or, if you arent afraid, Blink. I run Balance Glide. Melee is literally only 1 thing. Vortex Grenade Aspects Feed The Void Chaos Accelerant Fragments Instability Domineering Undermining Vigilance (simply to good) Weapons Blinding GL or Any Kinetic Primary of your choice Ruinous Effigy Void Heavy Mods Head - Void Siphon, Special Ammo Finder Arms - Fastball Chest - Triple Void/Harmonic Reserves Legs - 1 Void Surge, 2 Void/Harmonic Scavenger Bond - Reaper, Time Dilation Go punch and dunk and have unlimited energy.
honestly this weapon works much better on strand since you can grapple around and dunk on things mid air. Pair it with cyrtarachne and the woven mail will keep you alive.
@@jakobborghus4689 I find that it doesn't even proc gyrfalcons unless you get a kill with the drain part of it- but maybe thats just my luck on strand you just grapple over and dunk mid swing and it doesn't actually cancel your momentum, so youll do the dunk while moving.
@@KormitTheFrag Okay the continuous movement during the dunk does sound amazing. But tbf i mostly used this build, whichever season had the void buffing artifacts (think it was lightfall release). It had something like picking up and orb of power gives you volatile rounds I think? So if you slapped, sapped or dunked everything would be volatile and proc invis. I might just be glorifying it from a time where artifact made it shine with void
@@jakobborghus4689 oh yeah volatile flow! void in general was just amazing then- especially because double special was a thing and you could run some cheese stuff like Telesto or Wavesplitter and watch everything explode
Having used Gyrfalcon's & Ruinous Effigy together all of last season, it's so vindicating seeing the combo get some love. Not by any means the wrongest thing I've run but definitely one I've had a ton of fun with
I used to LOVE using Ruinous Effigy back when there was a seasonal mod (I don't remember from which season) that allowed to gain volatile rounds from an orb pickup. That way you could stay invisible and proc Volatile, weaken, and devour all at once. I miss it lol
I have a build idea for Void Titan, I'm having lots of fun with it lately: I call it... The Drei, Vier, Grenadiere (yeah like the song XD) The point of the rotation is to have overshield and devour pretty much all the time to spam as many grenades we can and weaken and explode everything. Favourite stats: Resilience and Discipline Super: Up to you, I like to use the bubble to have again overshield and grenade regen So for the abilities: Rally Barricade, Jump (whatever), Shield Throw, Scatter Grenade Aspects: -Bastion -Offensive Bulwark Fragments: -Echo of Undermining -Echo of Harvest -Echo of Starvation -Echo of Leeching (this one is up to you, put whatever you may like more) Exotics / weapon: -Graviton Lance + Cata. (for overshield, you already know where we going ;) ) -Armamentarium Chest -In the heavy slot I use a retrofit escapade with target lock but the rest is up to you Armor Mods: -Head: Ashes to assets / Heavy ammo finder / siphon -Arms: Grenade Kickstart x2 / Bolstering Detonation -Chest: res as always -Legs: Recuperation / Stacks on Stacks / Innervation -Titan Towel: Bomber / Reaper / Powerful Attraction
Void warlock build: Super: not nova warp Abilities: healing rift and vortex grenade, jump is your choice Aspects: chaos accelerant and feed the void Fragments: undermining, instability, persistence, and expulsion Armor: nezarec’s sin with harmonic siphon, ashes to assets, and powerful friends or heavy ammo finder is you have the space. Arms with firepower, momentum transfer, and impact induction. Chest can be whatever you like but I personally just run resistances. Legs with double void surge and innervation. Class item is bomber, outreach, and reaper Weapons: collective obligation, void heavy of choice, and special of choice. If you don’t have collective then graviton works well too. Gameplay loop: spam abilities and hit targets with collective that are affected by said abilities and then continue their effects to new enemies while waiting for abilities. Remember that you can chain the effects collective obligation gets when hitting stronger targets as when the timer ends if the target still has volatile and weaken on them you can leach them back and continuously spread them. Hope you like the build!
This is my most used build, except for: Regnant or Retrofit for dps; Smoke Bomb jump ability for longer invis and the armor mods are different. And yes the orb drain applies volatile even if you're invis which is amazing.
They could feasibly make one in every element (jolt on slam, ignite on slam if target is scorched, stasis could freeze and strand could shackle) and each would have its own identity and utility. It would be awesome
Ive used a build like this for months, i dont use the BP with it though and use a heavy/primary that make up for the dps however this build is more to handle adds so the others can focus on the boss.
Just an idea , But it might be possible to go invisibility , take transmutation core , melee then drain to apply volatile with it. I haven't tested but this might clear a lot of ads that way.
Effigy was hella fun when it first came out. You could pair it with the titan stronghold exotic gauntlets and you were invincible. Then bungie nerfed effigy to the ground and made it not work with the exotic...man those were great times!
11:04 You actually didn't get volatile rounds there, because Gyrfalcon only grants them when you manually exit invisibility. What debuffed the Enemy for Stylish Executioner to work was the heavy attack of the Transmutation Sphere which suppresses. From what I've noticed in the rest of the video tho, is that it won't count for stylish if it actually kills the enemy.
VOID TITAN THE SPARTAN VOIDLING Exotic Armor of Choice: Doom Fang Pauldron Exotic Weapon of Choice: Vex Calibur Weapons of choice: I used Randy's or Showrunner with kinetic tremors (Dealer's choice) Any Void Heavy Weapon (I like a crafted retorfit with target lock and fourth time's the charm) My Stat Spread: M:30 Res:100 Rec:40 Disc:100 Int:40 Srt:30 (Works well with my mod set up, but mods can be moved pretty freely) Armor Mods: Helmet: Harmonic Siphon, Font of Wisdom Free Slot Opt:Ashes to Assets Hands-On,another Siphon Arms: Firepower x2, (Melee regen isn't super important) Chest: Charged Up, Resist mods of your choice Legs: Better Already, Innervation, Stacks on Stacks Class Armor: Font of Restoration, Time Dilation (Rounds out stats well and leaves room for build leeway) Abilities: Any Barricade (Bastion will dictate on given scenario), Shield Throw (for needed weaken), Scatter Grenade(fast cooldown/decent dmg), and jump of choice. I’ve run this for a while and it’s really fun and can be powerful in the right circumstances. A couple tips: 1. should absolutely be running double special with this. Despite the nerf to the heavy ammo glitch, double special is still perfectly viable, and you gotta treat the trace like a primary. Helps with the damage on majors problem. 2. Remember that you have to manually exit invisibility in order to get volatile rounds from gyrfalcon. If you are running around draining while invis with the orb, then let your invis run out without slamming, you won’t get volatile on your slam and thus won’t re-enter invis from it
Agree with point number 1 - Strongly strongly recommend using commemoration as your heavy to compliment the double special. Basically use Ruinous until it runs out of ammo, then switch to Commemoration and basically just treat it as a primary. It absolutley destroys rooms with it's synergy with Gryfalcons. Special Kinetic slot can be filled with any stasis or strand fusion rifle for champs (chill clip) or boss dps (the new strand fusion) Point number 2 is actually incorrect - the act of slamming the orb takes you out of invis already and the following explosion (which will contain volatile as a result of you coming out of invis) will then reproc stylish executioner and thus make you invis again. You can see this occur in the video at 13:45 as an example I used this build for like 3 seasons straight it's one of my favs.
@@mattcrain8048 sorry, should have been more clear. With point 2 I meant that waiting for your invis to expire does not grant volatile. Slamming does break invis you are correct, that’s one of the ways you can manually break it. I meant “don’t let your invis timer run out, then slam” cuz it won’t put you back invisible
I’ve been using this build for a while and it’s insane, but instead of the ruinous effigy, I use Fiortura-59 with Repulsor Brace or more recently Ros Arago IV with repulsor Brace. This way, not only do you go invisible constantly, but you get an over shield at the same time, because of the volatile rounds Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk gives.
@17:05 i was thinking u could take off volatile and possibly use trappers ambush since the drain suppresses targets and killing a void debuffed target is what makes u invis
Been using R. E. with a void Warlock for mid-level activities like Gambit and seasonal game modes and I love how it mixes up the gameplay. I’ll have to try this with a hunter.
I've been running a build like this for months, definitely one of the most fun void hunter builds I've ever played, thought I prefer the shadowdive instead, so I don't need to proc kills to go invis (which works better for high end content).
I have a build idea that I have been running in solo Legend Lost Sectors for 2 seasons now. It may have been done before, but I can't find one similar to how I run it. So, either I'm completely wrong or this build has just flown under the radar. It is a Stand Hunter Sixth Coyote build. Aspects are Threaded Specter and Whirling Maelstrom. Fragments.... are actually kinda experimental this season thanks to Slice arriving AND on some good weapons AND one of those weapons actually dropping for me. I think that Thread of Warding and Generation are easy go-to options, but now that I don't have to rely on my powered melee for Sever and needing that melee to create the initial Tangle to start the chain. That being said, since useless SIDEARMS are the only Artifact anti-Barrier Champion choice this season, using the melee to get Unraveling Rounds seems like a solid play EXCEPT for the fact that the Artifact gives us that just for picking up an Orb of Power. SO. I am playing around with the following set-up, but it is probably not anywhere near optimal: Threads of Warding, Generation, Continuity, and Ascent. Marksman Dodge for another free reload and using the Specter as often as freaking possible for its tanking ability. Grapple grenade for the, again, utility and survivability it offers. My Kinetic slot weapon is Lethal Abundance with Slice. I haven't actually settled on an Energy slot weapon permanently but use Eriana's Vow when the champs are Barrier and Overload. My mod set-up is very "no thoughts" slapped together Head: Siphon, Heavy Ammo, Hands On Arms: Impact Induction, Momentum Transfer, Grenade Kickstart Chest: elemental resistances as needed Legs: double Absolution, Recuperation Class: Reaper, Bomber, Powerful Attraction I am sure real build crafters can make this build better, and as more Primary weapons with Slice are introduced it will also continue to improve its capabilities. I hope. It has been working for me at least, and is a pretty fun play-style.
Damn, you really never used ruinous before have you. This is the second build video I’ve watched of yours, and I’m not hating on you but you’re clueless on a lot of things lol. But that’s the joy of self discovery 😂
Agers Scepter primary exotic stasis with. Warlock helmet: cenotaph mask. Can u make it disgusting. En fast super regeneration for the weapon benefits. ❤
For me, I use a void Warlock with a hand cannon i got from crota that rolled with subsistence and volatile rounds, transverse hold for near infinite void grenade, use weakening grenades and was able to survive for long periods of time in the boss encounter of Ghosts of the Deep clearing ads like nothing. Void is my favorite subclass all around
Hey @MacticsG1. I feel like at this point you have probably covered at least each subclass for Hunter, Warlock, and Titan. I think it would be a cool idea if you did a video that was a tier list. So for instance you would have a subject (lets say GM's or Raids) and you rank each of the builds ,or maybe just the top 5 or so, for each subject. You could also add other subjects, like (bounties, solo play, or maybe which are the most fun for low lvl content). I think it would be really cool to see a list compiled in this fashion to see how the different builds stack up against one another across different difficulties of content. Let me know what you think!
The fact that it doesn't go away but instead drains you because your the best immediate scorce of energy is something i love about this weapon. Edit: also ive been using it with my void warlock with Briarbinds. You can hold grape, rift, block/blind, melee hit (procs smaller grape) slam, and then dump mag on boss especially if you have the catalyst. Pick up smaller grape, rinse, repeat, everybody slam. I call it, Ball Fondler
I believe if you damage an enemy with the grape, it weakens the enemy for the trace rifle damage. If I remember correctly. It doesn't weaken for other weapon damage though.
Used this build last season. It’s fun but definitely not viable in anything higher than a raid. Used it for most of a Crota’s End run but not effortlessly
SOLAR NOVA BOMB 200K on warlock Weapon: any solar gun Exotic armor: Verity brow Abilities: phoenix dive, movement any, celestial fire, fusion grenade, Aspects: heat rises, touch of flame, Fragments: ashes, searing, singeing, benevolence, Super Ability:well of radiance Helmet mods: harmonic siphon 3x Gauntlets mods: impact induction 2x, bolstering detonation, Chest armor: void resistance, solar resistance, arc resistance, Legs mods: innervation 3x Bond mods: bomber x3 Seasonal mods: revitalizing blast, rest is yours Loop: frst get 5x death throes then do charge melee and throw grenade and BOOM 200K damage
That's funny. I was using this during the vexcaibur quest during my solo run. At fist it was for farming favors...and it proved to be quite effective 😅
Why the fuck do people trash talk Ruinous Effigy? I use it constantly, it's been badass from the start. It does good damage, the void balls have good damage and utility, and not to mention it's extremely fun to use.
Because if it isn't in the top 5% of weapon damage then it's clearly not "meta" enough to be worth it. A simple minded logic that I will never understand.
Can anyone confirm - this season devour took a nerf down to 100hp per kill, but also grenade ability regen was buffed per kill. I could be wrong but grenade ability energy refound when devour is proc’d seems worse than before.
Le Monarque and Gyrfalcon's is more viable I think with volatile rounds and the added poison effect with Stylish Executioner, Vanishing Step . Effigy was/is fun and I thought had a neat team-focused mechanic since others can use the void balls.
This was my go-to when Gyrfalcons came out. Running around invisible with the AoE was great. The AoE doesn't blind but it suppresses which allows all kills to turn you invis via Gyrfalcons. And the catalyst makes it so anything damaged by the spheres (AoE and Dunk) also takes more damage from Ruinous Effigy. As for boss damage since you'll likely run Void surges I'd use the new seasonal linear fusion with Recon + Precision Instrument. Ruinous is a great add clear while being safe but definitely isn't made for main damage against bosses.
The AoE disorients (Which was called blinding before Arc 3.0. They also changed the blinding grenades perk to disorienting grenades). The heavy attack however, does suppress.
I used this for the legendary lightfall campaign and it worked well at that level. I would be interested in seeing the omni build using this weapon for support role though!
Love your videos, love the builds, and love how in depth you go with YOUR builds. However, it always amazes me how on every one of these videos you don't know weapons and exotics work 😂 always good for a laugh. Keep up the hard work man!
Ruinous effigy is the only trace rifle i enjoy playing with, my only issue with that weapon is to deal with teamates stealing your transmutation orbs. that pretty annoying otherwise is very fun to use and one of the most unique exotic
Huh... I came up with an (unpolished) version of this build back in season of the deep but wrote it off as not very good, a lot of fun though. Ruinous really isn't that terrible which is why it's surprising that it's probably the most overlooked exotic.
Good if you're solo. Sort of back handed if you're in a Fireteam of 3. Being invis 90% of the time forces the other two fireteam members to balance 30% more aggro. Same with gyrfalcons. It's great for the hunter but bad for everyone else.
back in season of the which when void 3.0 came out there was a build for hunters to make them near invincible also hold the charge when having volatile rounds
the point of the exotic armour is to get constant invis through stylish executioner. Devour shouldnt needed. Plus the 4 fragment slots limits it greatly
For me effigy is always about the ball for damage in comparison to the ammo you spend, using it to chunk yellow bars or clearing a group of adds quickly. Its awful in anything difficult because you spend way more ammo getting a single orb and enemies dunk YOU if you're in melee
what exotic armor would you suggest using if i am not able to get that chest. looks fun to run. ill prolly try that helm that makes you invisible on melee, are those dunk kills melee kills
The dunks don't, I'm pretty sure the light attacks do! I'd also probably add the fragment that gives volatile on Grenade kills, so you still have the options for boom booms.
This build has been around for a long time, it’s still fun as hell but this dude didn’t send you anything groundbreaking. Wrecks with retrofit as the heavy!
This isn't really a solo player build. It has the mechanics to be, but you are really supposed to run it with multiple Ruinous Effigy users to activate the catalyst buff.

Hey ! Love the content but quick suggestion, should post DIM link for every build, a LOT of people would love it i think !
AYO????? MY BUILD GOT IN???????
Lol good classic!

I don't think I would have admitted that considering how many changes needed to be made for nonsense mod choices lol
@Gunslinger8912 lmao, fair enough. To be fair though, he ended up using the build with a slightly different gameplay loop than me, and his mods reflect that. I like keeping/having my dodge up at all times to restart the loop or get outta danger as needed, and to proc Reaper consistently.
@@thelastmaleneko1705 for sure, and it looks like a crazy fun build too and I'm gonna give it a try!
This is the build I use! I honesty didn't think anyone else used this combo.
My build focuses more on going in and out of invisibility to keep Gyrfalcon up as much as possible to clear out trash.
- Deadfall (Super is up to you, but I prefer this)
- Stylish Executioner + Trapper's Ambush
- Echoes of Obscurity (Could swap this out for something else) + Starvation + Persistence + Undermining
- Dodges, jump and grenade are up to your preference
- Primary is up to you
- Ruinous Effigy (Main weapon of choice for non-boss targets)
- Retrofit Escapade (Fourth Time's the Charm + Target Lock, Main boss DPS)
Stat focus should be Res + Dis
- Helmet - Harmonic Siphon + Special Ammo Finder + Heavy Ammo Finder
- Hands - Momentum Transfer + Impact Induction + Harmonic Loader (Most likely gonna wanna swap Impact Induction out, and Loader if you're comfortable with your reloads)
- Chest - Harmonic Resistance + Harmonic Reserves + (My third slot is empty right now, but a Melee or AOE Resistance might help)
- Boots - Void Weapon Surge + Harmonic Holster + Absolution
- Cloak - Reaper + Bomber + Powerful Attraction
“A Song Of Ice and Fire”
Winter is coming, guardian. Ensure your readiness should the long winter befall us once more. This build absolutely abuses the artifact perks, turning enemies into freeze-dried chicken nugget dust. And the best part is, it’s got room for customization, allowing you to fine tune the synergies for that perfect pop!
-The build-
Exotic armor: pretty flexible in terms of how it interacts with the loop.
Helmet mods: thermodynamic siphon (for orbs from solar and stasis weapon kills), heavy or special ammo finder(whichever you use more of)
Arm mods: impact induction (for more grenades), firepower(for orbs on grenade kill), fastball (optional)
Chest mods: resist, harmonic reserves(for more chill clip ammo capacity)
Leg mods: recouperation(for healing on orb pick up), double solar surge(to make sure Sunshot gets the kill(s) and activates radiant)
Class item mods: bomber(for more grenades), time dilation(for longer solar surge), powerful attraction(optional, but does help grab orbs that are in dangerous spots)
-Weapons-
Kinetic: Riptide(chill clip)
Energy: Sunshot
Heavy: Typhon GL5 (chill clip. This slot is optional, but multiple stasis debuff sources are a big help)
-Key artifact mods-
Flame, fiber, and freeze(to combine siphon mods)
Kindling trigger(to apply scorch damage/buff Sunshot)
Flint striker(for radiant)
Torch(for bonus damage)
Hail the storm(for increased damage and stasis debuff)
Rays of precision(for BOOM)
The rest are interchangeable, but I prefer to build into stasis, as mods like pillar of ice and dragon’s bite just makes you more powerful.
-Abilities-
Healing rift
Burst glide
Penumbral blast
Glacier grenade(coldsnap would also work great, just less cover)
-Aspects-
Iceflare bolts(for stasis seekers)
Glacial harvest(for stasis shards)
-Fragments-
Fissures(for increase damage)
Bonds(for orbs)
Chains(for resilience)
Rime(for overshield/resilliance)
-The loop-
Step 1: use Sunshot to get radiant(via flint striker) and clean up any low-level enemies
Step 2: throw glacier grenade to freeze enemies or provide cover
Step 3: pop rift near cover/frozen enemy
Note: you should be fairly resilient by now thanks to whisper of chains + healing rift. Also, while radiant, weapons deal increased damage to stasis debuffed enemies via torch artifact mod
Step 4: defeat enemies with chill clip weapon while in rift (to get some stasis seekers on the field thanks to iceflare bolts aspect)
Note: powered melee can also be used to get a stasis seeker on the field
Step 5: switch back to Sunshot and start popping frozen enemies(once radiant, you’ll deal increased damage to enemies effected by stasis debuff via torch artifact mod)
Once abilities regen, which should be quick enough, restart the loop.
This looks good. Thanks!
I imagine that retrofit would be good for range dps
Yep, pretty much how I run it!
Bonus Fact about Ruinous:
- (Yes) when energy is out, drain drains you for more and more dmg (and will straight up kill you) over time, even if you try to stop and re-proc it or have devour.
- Energy while draining goes away a bit faster when low
- Draining also acts as a sword guard, mitigating dmg from all directions by about 80%
- While drain can also benefit from Gyr volitile, the Gyr volitile effect deactivates while invis (was sad about this)
- to add to the last, you can curcumvent the deactivation by usn the melee atk after the drain to re-proc. After melee (which also blinds), you can go back to drain or you can slam
- While all other orb dmg "dissorients" enemies, buff to Ruin allows for orb slam to suppress enemies (procs actual suppression effects, also champs)
- The Orb slam does more dmg depending on how much ammo it has (this might have changed).
- If you have the catty for ruinous, ANY dmg from orb (light, drain, or slam) allows the ruinous laser to deal increased dmg to effected targets (about 30%)
Ruinous is fun when you turn an enemy into an orb and then attach an arc spear to it and make the hunter super a roaming
wait, what? got a clip showing that happening?
With vanishing step, when you use it, immediately hold whatever button you use to pick up items, and it should pick up the orb while dodging. So you essentially drop it, but pick it up again.
Solar Warlock Invincibility Boss Shredder build.
Fragments: Solace, Torches, Ashes, and Empyrean
Aspects: Heat rises.
I use Dragon's Breath and seasonal fusion (If crafted god roll that is better)
Mods: (I prioritize resiliance)
Helmet: Harmonic Siphon x2, Solar Targeting
Arms: Focusing Strike x2, Fastball..... (I know you don't like it)
Chest: Void, Solar, Arc resistance
Legs: Absolution, Insulation, and Orbs of Restoration
Class: Distribution, Bomber, and Reaper
To start loop you need to activate heat rises then pheonix dive, this will activate restoration x2 and make you invincible (basically).
This paired with the void quickfang is my go to fun class. So many purple explosions
@@thebhoy8561use ruinous with heartshadow?
I like razors edge with chain reaction but quickfang is cool.
@@x9x9x9x9x9 true that is a banger but when you do the super fast swing combo with quickfang it just feels right
I have to say it’s reassuring seeing all these builds I’ve come up with in the past make it into your videos. Lol

honestly this weapon works much better on strand since you can grapple around and dunk on things mid air. Pair it with cyrtarachne and the woven mail will keep you alive.
Perma invis makes it a breeze to dunk tho
@@jakobborghus4689 I find that it doesn't even proc gyrfalcons unless you get a kill with the drain part of it- but maybe thats just my luck
on strand you just grapple over and dunk mid swing and it doesn't actually cancel your momentum, so youll do the dunk while moving.
I have a build idea for Void Titan, I'm having lots of fun with it lately:
I call it... The Drei, Vier, Grenadiere (yeah like the song XD)
The point of the rotation is to have overshield and devour pretty much all the time to spam as many grenades we can and weaken and explode everything.
Favourite stats: Resilience and Discipline
Super: Up to you, I like to use the bubble to have again overshield and grenade regen
So for the abilities: Rally Barricade, Jump (whatever), Shield Throw, Scatter Grenade
Aspects:
-Bastion
-Offensive Bulwark
Fragments:
-Echo of Undermining
-Echo of Harvest
-Echo of Starvation
-Echo of Leeching (this one is up to you, put whatever you may like more)
Exotics / weapon:
-Graviton Lance + Cata. (for overshield, you already know where we going ;) )
-Armamentarium Chest
-In the heavy slot I use a retrofit escapade with target lock but the rest is up to you
Armor Mods:
-Head: Ashes to assets / Heavy ammo finder / siphon
-Arms: Grenade Kickstart x2 / Bolstering Detonation
-Chest: res as always
-Legs: Recuperation / Stacks on Stacks / Innervation
-Titan Towel: Bomber / Reaper / Powerful Attraction
I’ve been waiting for a ruinous build for years thank you and whoever came up with it
You're welcome! :)
Swapping for Wavesplitter you can suppress enemies, get free reloads, and do significantly higher beam damage.
Void warlock build:
Super: not nova warp
Abilities: healing rift and vortex grenade, jump is your choice
Aspects: chaos accelerant and feed the void
Fragments: undermining, instability, persistence, and expulsion
Armor: nezarec’s sin with harmonic siphon, ashes to assets, and powerful friends or heavy ammo finder is you have the space.
Arms with firepower, momentum transfer, and impact induction.
Chest can be whatever you like but I personally just run resistances.
Legs with double void surge and innervation.
Class item is bomber, outreach, and reaper
Weapons: collective obligation, void heavy of choice, and special of choice.
Plus I never use my primary except for champs.
Ruinous effigy is definitely a unique exotic. Glad to see it used.
They could feasibly make one in every element (jolt on slam, ignite on slam if target is scorched, stasis could freeze and strand could shackle) and each would have its own identity and utility. It would be awesome
Ive used a build like this for months, i dont use the BP with it though and use a heavy/primary that make up for the dps however this build is more to handle adds so the others can focus on the boss.
no fucking way this is the build i was going to submit after yesterday's stream
glad ruinous is getting some love
For real! It's one of my favorites!
Just an idea ,
But it might be possible to go invisibility , take transmutation core , melee then drain to apply volatile with it.
I haven't tested but this might clear a lot of ads that way.
Effigy was hella fun when it first came out. You could pair it with the titan stronghold exotic gauntlets and you were invincible. Then bungie nerfed effigy to the ground and made it not work with the exotic...man those were great times!
11:04
You actually didn't get volatile rounds there, because Gyrfalcon only grants them when you manually exit invisibility. What debuffed the Enemy for Stylish Executioner to work was the heavy attack of the Transmutation Sphere which suppresses. From what I've noticed in the rest of the video tho, is that it won't count for stylish if it actually kills the enemy.

I’ve run this for a while and it’s really fun and can be powerful in the right circumstances. A couple tips:
1. should absolutely be running double special with this. Despite the nerf to the heavy ammo glitch, double special is still perfectly viable, and you gotta treat the trace like a primary. Helps with the damage on majors problem.
2. Remember that you have to manually exit invisibility in order to get volatile rounds from gyrfalcon. If you are running around draining while invis with the orb, then let your invis run out without slamming, you won’t get volatile on your slam and thus won’t re-enter invis from it
People also forget the slam supresses.
So it overloads champions as wel.
And counts as a void debuff for stylish.
Special Kinetic slot can be filled with any stasis or strand fusion rifle for champs (chill clip) or boss dps (the new strand fusion)
Point number 2 is actually incorrect - the act of slamming the orb takes you out of invis already and the following explosion (which will contain volatile as a result of you coming out of invis) will then reproc stylish executioner and thus make you invis again. You can see this occur in the video at 13:45 as an example
I used this build for like 3 seasons straight it's one of my favs.
@@mattcrain8048 sorry, should have been more clear. With point 2 I meant that waiting for your invis to expire does not grant volatile. Slamming does break invis you are correct, that’s one of the ways you can manually break it. I meant “don’t let your invis timer run out, then slam” cuz it won’t put you back invisible
i tried this build for myself after the video and i have a ton of fun with it^^ very nice one.
I feel like this would be better with ominoculous/graviton forfeit and really focus on invisibility and the blinding drain.
I feel stupid not trying to share this build first
The fun part will always be applying volatile and things die when blocking
i did this with your last void build using quickfang and two special weapons to raise ammo rates. worked very well.
It’s definitely interesting but I’m sticking with wave splitter because of how often you can have it in high damage mode
Gotta dodge to invis before grabbing the grape and just sit there draining enemies for a moment before Dunkin on them foos. Shit kinda fun
My mod set-up is very "no thoughts" slapped together
Head: Siphon, Heavy Ammo, Hands On
Arms: Impact Induction, Momentum Transfer, Grenade Kickstart
Chest: elemental resistances as needed
Legs: double Absolution, Recuperation
Class: Reaper, Bomber, Powerful Attraction
I am sure real build crafters can make this build better, and as more Primary weapons with Slice are introduced it will also continue to improve its capabilities. I hope. It has been working for me at least, and is a pretty fun play-style.
One thing to note is this weapon has the strand problem where any blueberry can walk over and steal your grapes
Damn, you really never used ruinous before have you. This is the second build video I’ve watched of yours, and I’m not hating on you but you’re clueless on a lot of things lol. But that’s the joy of self discovery 😂
What scout rifle are you running?
2:18 "gives you volatile for 45 minutes" YOOOOOO I WISH!!!
Ruinous was my first ever exotic quest and I've been using it with gyrfalcons since it came out. So much fun! Not the best dps but fun
i have 65k kills on my ruinous effigy and it doesn't even count with ball kills.
very cool to see the funny basketball gun here.
This vid reminded me of the good ol' days full of public events on Titan :)
Not everyone forgot it! My most used exotic weapon!! Love the purple balls!
I could never forget, easily one of my faves.

That's funny. I was using this during the vexcaibur quest during my solo run. At fist it was for farming favors...and it proved to be quite effective 😅
Featured build is just one of the most common when Gyrfalcon was nerfed and reworked into a volatile rounds mod.
Ruinous effigy is amazing. I'm surprised this is new to new. Drain heals you and gives you damage resistance and slamming it suppresses enemies.
@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 Exactly. If something is fun or unique, why NOT enjoy it? At the end of the day, it's a game so you might as well enjoy it.
We haven't gotten a dedicated build for quite a while now on these will it build videos
I wish they’d add another Guardian that can play support or something. Would be nice if the guardian classes were a little more complimentary.
The orb wasn’t draining your health btw, it was the debuff from the poison dudes in that encounter!
I'm curious if utility Kickstart uses 3 charges then powerful atraction will pickup more armor charges. May be usable if it does
Dont forget the slam supresses enemies !
15:31 LMAO help, that made me laugh
I used this for the legendary lightfall campaign and it worked well at that level. I would be interested in seeing the omni build using this weapon for support role though!
Love your videos, love the builds, and love how in depth you go with YOUR builds. However, it always amazes me how on every one of these videos you don't know weapons and exotics work 😂 always good for a laugh. Keep up the hard work man!
Finally a use for my 15 bucks Starter Bundle.👌
Ruinous effigy is the only trace rifle i enjoy playing with, my only issue with that weapon is to deal with teamates stealing your transmutation orbs. that pretty annoying otherwise is very fun to use and one of the most unique exotic
Looks super fun and unique. Volatile rounds are insane, but I might try graviton forfeit
Ive been looking for a void pvp build... and this may be it
I just love to piss people off with cheeky kills.
I've used it in PvP a few times, and it for SURE pisses people off. Nothing more upsetting then getting beat down by an explosive Grape.
@@thelastmaleneko1705 It's even worse when there's an invisible rat who's doing the dunking.
I love effigy always has been fun. How can you work it with high end. I’ve always used Omni
I've been using a build just like this for a while, i was hoping to keep it quiet because i don't want it nerfed :/
Ruinous effigy with blink voidlock is fun too!
It may not be top teir but it looks pretty fun. I guess ruinous is coming out of collections.
I wish my secret lab chair still looked that fresh. My cat has destroyed the top and now it's all fuzzy 😂
I use to do this with precious scars a couple seasons ago whe. Void was the focus omg the fun lol
Adding devour would really help
It do be having devour, he just didn't really mention it all too much!
the point of the exotic armour is to get constant invis through stylish executioner. Devour shouldnt needed. Plus the 4 fragment slots limits it greatly
When you affect an enemy with an trans orb, they then take more dmg from ruinous effigy for a short time
For me effigy is always about the ball for damage in comparison to the ammo you spend, using it to chunk yellow bars or clearing a group of adds quickly.
@@thelastmaleneko1705 thanks, ill try that
I use to use something similar to this when double special was still a thing
A void sword would be a good fit fot this.
bro, mactics will it build videos r so nice 😁
This build has been around for a long time, it’s still fun as hell but this dude didn’t send you anything groundbreaking. Wrecks with retrofit as the heavy!
I used this on the second boss in ghosts of the deep a couple seasons back just to see how it'd work an oh man is it fun
This isn't really a solo player build. It has the mechanics to be, but you are really supposed to run it with multiple Ruinous Effigy users to activate the catalyst buff.
