Loved the dog translation Andrea 😂x
😆
Dinner plates, salad plates, side plates. The last Hornsea thing I bought was Tapestry design, it's still in my kitchen, it replaced my Scroll design, I'm awful for keeping things too 😂
Hi Andrea. I don't mind the darker brown Denby.. all Denby; regardless of design has tht crispy crunchy stoneware feel to it. Nice video 👍 ty
I had that sage green pot but in a coffee pot. It had a chip on the spout but still sold for around 30 pound and that was a couple of years ago. X
It’s quite a sought after design it seems… although you can see why 🙂
Very interesting
We love Hornsea always have some in our shop consider it to be our bread and butter. We tend to buy joblots at auctions the best way to get it 😊😊
THANKS for a great vlog Andrea 🙂 have a great week
I've really enjoyed this video, thank you Andrea. Im not a reseller but do look for pieces I love in charity shops. I do buy cups and saucers occasionally because they are so cheap and the designs are lovely. More videos focusing on specific brands would be amazing. I learn so much from you , thanks again. Angie x
Thanks Angie 🙂
I love the chevron pattern too. I love that the chevrons are all hand pressed onto the clay. Plus they have that design in the V&A
Yes I saw the article about it when I was researching. So cool 😃
I love the Denby , the Brontë is beautiful I have a really big one and a couple of smaller ones , keep the ones you have and enjoy them . X
They are now in use ☺️
I'm a Yorkshire lass and started saving for my 'bottom drawer' at 21 (I'm 70 now) with Contrast and Cornrose............I am still using them today! This was such an interesting video thank you!
Thanks Sue, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I live near hornsea !!! I love the bronte design too . I've only got a jug 😂
Enjoyed your vlog as i always do - its pronounced Horn-Sea no Zee in it hun
I grew up in Cleethorpes so not too far from Hornsea (especially when the Humber Bridge was built!) but I found my Hornsea pottery in thrift stores where I live now on the west coast of Canada.
How funny 😃
Dog translation sounds like a dalek exterminate 😂 my friends dad made hornsy pottery . She has inherited all his stuff
😂 Oh wow! How lovely for your friend 😃
Hi Andrea, yes it’s hard to resist cups and saucers in good designs but as you said nobody uses them much, so we need to be very selective. They’re often cheap for a reason😊 even when other items in the same design do ok. Regards
They do say that the darker colours and tones for homeware are coming back this year, so maybe the Bakewell will have its day again. 🌸Great video.🌸
Ooh I hope so 🤞
I would say dinner plates, lunch plates & side plates.
Typical three sizes in a set.
Cheers!
Very interesting video! Can I ask why you decided to go from selling clothes to breakables? Xx
It’s mostly because I was loving learning about vintage homeware and not loving selling clothes as much. I don’t regret it. I’ve definitely found something I’m really passionate about :)
@@andreahills74 I love selling vintage homeware too. I’ve sold clothes in the past but I really don’t enjoy it. I find it too much work washing ironing steaming and even taking photos is difficult. I’m loving your homeware videos. Great tips too! Xx
@@marinaagathangelou4049 Yes, that’s definitely a factor for me too… I can be a bit of a perfectionist and it was taking so long to list clothes.
@@andreahills74 yes it does take too long and I find it boring. I love listing toys and games too!
@@marinaagathangelou4049 Yes they can be good fun to deal with 😃
I reckon someone could make a decent living, just having a shop that specialised in discontinued Denby. The prices are good and the demand is high, as long as you're prepared to ship abroad. 90% of mine go to the US, Australia, Korea or Japan.
Yes very true! I do have international shipping available 🙂
