I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
Love to see someone sharpen a chisel chain the proper way...square cut with a chisel file...not a hoakie round file filing for farmer cutting....square filling like a professional faller...awesome.
Sharp chain and a 20" bar makes 462 like a light sabor for sure! Love mine and use 20",25", and 28" light bar.
Get a good quality file, for some reason Stihls files are crap
The ones at Tractor Supply are twice as good and stay sharp longer.
Je vais testé ça sur une ancienne chaine qui tire sur le coté, comme ça même si je rate l'affutage, je ne perdrais pas grand chose ! Je suis épaté par l'agressivité la vitesse de coupe et l'absence de vibrations ! Merci , super vidéo !
Si vous voulez débuter avec la méthode de la lime plate, je vous conseille d' essayer avec la lime Goofy. Vous pouvez regarder ma vidéo sur ce sujet, ça pourra vous aider.

that is one monster, and what a sharp chain, the chips coming of that is insane, i need to up my filing skills big time. it goes trough that wood like a hot knife trough melted butter, insane!

500i is technically in the 80cc class if I remember correctly. I could be wrong, though.
J.T 500i 79.2 , 462c 72.2 ... The 500i seems to use a lot more fuel than the 462c ... I’ve got one ported that wears a 20” bar that moves right along , the guy in the video files one helluva chain from what I can see !
@@fabzacres-blackcat I've heard people saying that the fuel consumption goes down after break in. Guessing you haven't experienced that?
J.T I prefer my hotwoods ported 462c or 572xp with a 20-25” b/c ... if I need to run a bigger bar I use a 660 or 395... Nothing against the 500i but it’s a “tweener saw” imho and since I have my bases covered with other saws I do not own one

Sehr gutes video! Der Schliff schneidet ja blitzschnell (auch wenns "nur" Nadelholz ist).
Die 462 ist glaube ich eine der Top 10 Sägen auf dem Markt, oder? Wie lange ist sie bei dir in Benutzung, gibt es Anzeichen für Kinderkrankheiten? Ich frage, weil ich auch eine habe, die bislang 10 Tanks gefahren ist.
Die 462 ist ein sehr gut maschine !! Ich habe mein von 3 monat und 0 problem !!!! ( Ich sprache und verstehe nicht gut deutsch )
Die Säge schneidet nicht schneller sonder läuft nur ruhiger.

@@zampano153 ich habe bislang nur mit dem Srandardschliff gesägt, mit diesem noch nie, aber rein vom Gefühl her scheint die Säge ins Holz schneller einzudringen, wenn ich es im vodeo sehe. Grüße aus Bosnien
@@Ivan-L. ich kenne auch nur Leute die diesen Schliff anwenden,daher die Information.Man muss aber scheinbar sehr lange üben um ihn drauf zu haben.
impressionnant stihl fan suisse!! quelle coupe !!! intéressé par votre affûtage quel type de lime , taille forme etc ,me conseillerez vous pour affûter une chaîne 75lpx pas de 3/8 gouges chisel carrées
felix 357MG je vous conseille la lime Goofy . Je vais bientôt publier une vidéo sur l'utilisation de cette lime. ( et par la même occasion supprimer l'autre vidéo que j'ai fait sur l'affûtage où j y présente la 4 limes différente qui existent... trop de gens ont mal compris cette vidéo et pensent qu'il faut utiliser les 4 limes pour chaque affûtage, ce qui évidemment est totalement faut !!! )

@@ettoreilballerino non può durare di più e ti spiego subito il xche, il dente x durare non deve avere troppa angolatura col file fatto da lima piatta si va a creare un angolo sotto il dente di taglio troppo accentuato e la catena non dura , taglia veloce ma su legno morbido e non dura vari pieni, le mie catene tagliano cosi e durano vari pieni su legno secco anche di acacia, poi col file ti manca il laterale che in tutti i modi devi sempre farlo col tondino, dunque quel sistema li diventa lungo e contro producente nel bosco simo mica a pettinà le bambole. se guardi il video della VALORBE vedrai che il miglior angolo non è quello che fa il file ma il contrario, poi se vuoi il file si fa anche col tondino basta saper dove lavorare sia nel laterale del dente sia SOTTO il dente di taglio, saluti
