I am definitely curious what your first year was like and what the process of adapting to teaching was for you? How was your first class and what was your first lesson like? Were you able to take it slow and learn with your co teacher’s help or were you rushed into teaching? I’m curious as to how you started off since I am scheduled for a April intake here soon.
@@natewis99 to be 100% honest I was just thrown into it. during orientation they said we could ask our coteachers to just observe the first week or 2…. but I haven’t had an actual coteacher for all 3 years I’ve been here lol and many of my friends don’t either. My first lesson I made an About Me PPT and had them make/decorate nametags for their desks. You could also play icebreakers but keep them really simple since you won’t know their level. However, school starts at the beginning of March, so if you’re coming in April it means you’re coming in halfway through 1st semester. Your first lesson might require teaching the book 🥲 At the end of the day, you’ll learn as you go, so there’s no need to stress! EPIK teachers are such a mixed bag in terms of experience level so don’t feel pressured to be the worlds best teacher right off the bat

Can you go into detail about what to expect during the medical evaluation? What exactly happens from the minute you are at the Dr? Do they check your teeth? Do women have to have a gyn exam? Do they draw blood? Etc. Some people have said if you take any medications the drug test will show them and you can get deported/arrested? Others have said any medication is fine as long as you have a dr’s note explaining what it’s for and saying it is for a physical issue and not mental? You can message me if you’d rather since I know this is a sensitive issue in Korea. And out of curiosity-why does Busan have extra requirements? Edit: would love to see some of your past lessons! Do you ever get assigned to just one school? Several schools every day seems insaneee. When you do have students in slightly different grades (ex. 5th and 6th) how much do you change the lessons, if at all? Also, how do medical procedures work? I’d really like to get braces and a whitening procedure done and I know a lot of people want to take advantage of cosmetic procedures while in Korea. But as a teacher you can’t just not go to class for 3 days in a row, right? When you first land in Korea what happens? Is there someone you meet up with in the airport who takes you to your apartment? Do you need to do anything phone-wise? So sorry for all the questions, these are just some I feel like everyone wants to know but no one ever talks about. 🙃
First of all... I have subscribed your guys channel since first video and keep watching your every single videos of you guys. And this was really useful and informative video and know you guys work hard little time but I have a little suggestion please make videos with better camera quality make videos more creative use some background musics and make on like 7 eleven ( convenience store food 🏪🏪 ) like groceries shopping in local market and in malls and like that also informative videos like this and informative video like this in future. please please please upload videos frequently all 3 of you.😊😊😊
yes of course! however, most EPIK apartments have a twin bed so it may not be the most comfortable to have someone visit for a long period of time unless you luck out w a bigger apartment!!
