Prepping Our Tunnel for Spring Growing + Why We Took a Little Break from YouTube

After a period of unintentional neglect, our high tunnel has seen better days. We've finally rolled up our sleeves to embark on the revitalization journey, clearing out the remnants of last season's produce to make way for the upcoming spring gardening season. The to-do list is extensive-pulling weeds, reestablishing beds, adding nutrient-rich compost, and carefully laying out our weed fabric. As we let everything settle, our basement Grow Room becomes a hub for starting seeds indoors.
We want to share our journey transparently. Jalena's recent health challenges prompted a brief hiatus from video postings, a topic we discuss candidly in our blog post at freedomforestf.... While this may be a bit more personal than usual, our commitment to overcoming setbacks and rekindling connections within our homesteading community remains stronger than ever. We are a family of 6 STARTING OVER! We recently sold our little farm in the city on 1 acre in Arizona and moved across the country to an 8 1/2 acre property in a small town in South Carolina. Our new gorgeous property allows us more space to homestead full-time using regenerative agriculture practices and forest farming to create freedom from harmful chemicals in our food.
We invite you to come along on our journey as we start our new homestead from scratch with BIG goals of becoming more self-sufficient. We are still new to this, so there's going to be a LOT of hard work ahead, but it will all be so worth it once we are growing our own food and raising animals, each one for a specific purpose.
