Starting spring with the VSL Vienna CONCERT D-274 Grand Piano

- Hi all,
after a long break, here I am again. Actually, I was testing my new "patch" of this fabulous Steinway & Sons D-274 by VSL Synchron Pianos, fabulous because it never ceases to amaze me with its infinite possibilities for sound adjustment, the Full Library requires 266.3 GB, but it's not just a request for a large space for a single "piano sound", but it's the way it was conceived, the choices of settings, there's so much stuff inside this instrument, that creates real fun discovering it, for which 266.3 GB are worth it all.

Have you found any near field monitor speakers that accurately reproduce this piano? I do all my recording and mixing with AKG K240 headphones and they sound great, but listening with headphones can get uncomfortable.
Actually, for the recordings I use the JBL 308P MKII, but when I want to play only this piano without going to the recording studio, then I use the "M10 Mc Crypt" (20 watt) they are very small studio monitors (bass 3") and if the bass shouldn't suffice they also have a (mono) output for an active subwoofer, which I have but rarely use,
the good things are that they are small, cheap, and reproduce an incredibly natural sound, the only thing seems they are no longer produced, therefore difficult to find.
However, now I'm waiting again for small monitors that I bought on the internet the "Wavemaster cube mini neo" these have many possibilities such as Bluetooth, digital input (optical), and a mono bass output (subwoofer), honestly, I haven't tried them yet but their performance seems promising, will see.

Hi, I like the CONCERT D-274, maybe because it gives a particular sound to the jazz harmony, but this is a matter of taste, a friend of mine who is a jazz pianist preferred the Fazioli, and others the Bösendorfer, it's difficult to know everyone's taste, however, which one is your favorite?

I really like the d-274 as well especially because cocktail piano is what i play the most, but i also play other things like neo soul, anime compositions, classical, gospel, etc.
And since the vsl pianos are very expensive, i can only afford one and is just hard to choose
Ciao, hai mai provato Garritan CFX? Se si, consiglieresti queste librerie della Vienna symphonic o quelle del Garritan cfx? Inoltre Garritan se non erro, è una libreria ormai di molti anni fa', cosa invece che questi VST di Vienna, vengono mantenuti e curati durante il tempo, è un dato che influisce molto?
Ciao, si, conosco abbastanza il Garritan CFX, questa domanda mi e' stata già fatta... :-)) Cmq, provo a risponderti in inglese cosi forse può' aiutare anche gli altri...spero vada bene per te...dunque...Although the Garritan has a nice sound the difference with the VSL is huge for the simple fact that the Garritan was sampled differently, if I'm not mistaken ten years ago or even more, while the VSL have an advanced modern technique like for example the positions of the various microphones, which gives you not only the possibility to hear the distance of the instrument, but above all the variations of the sound itself, or a incredible regulation of the dynamics, and also the edit of every single key,
practically many very useful things that are not present in the Garritan, just because the CFX... it is a plugin now over the past, then maybe there are those who are also satisfied with old plugins, why not, but not for me :-)

Prendendo come esempio il VLS, che ha delle funzioni e degli accorgimenti in più rispetto al Garritan, che rende l'esperienza ancora più realistica, nel suono di un pianoforte; possono queste "mancanze" essere introdotte usando dei software esterni oppure è proprio il campionamento del pianoforte stesso a fare la differenza, e quindi non si può fare nulla a riguardo?
