I kinda like that they did that. The idea that she stopped the bullet herself with little reaction time (little reference to part 3 there) hammers home the idea that Jolyne is perfectly capable on her own. Jotaro flicking the bullet away in the manga kinda takes that away because it makes it seem like Jolyne would’ve been killed if dad wasn’t there to save her. In the anime, it re-contextualizes Jotaro making him look like, “oh. I guess I overreacted a bit there” and leaves her alone.
