I don't mind cutting prices or making good deals at the end of the market to clear my table off. Most customers early in the day don't try to negotiate but when it's close to closing time I'm ready to make someone happy when I shoot them a price and say, "All to go."
Ohio here. At the store, peas/snap peas are $5.50 a pound. Tomatoes $1.49 a lb. Sweet onions $1.29 lb. On facebook some of the farmers have listed absolutely crazy prices. Cucumbers 10 cents each. Tomatoes 25 cents each. Wow. Red bell sweet pepper are $1.25 on sale at the stores. I drove to a farmers stand and they had them 25 cents each. They were HUGE. I bought 2 dozen and gave them $20 just for those. They said stuff was coming in ready to pick and for some reason, customers are really scarce this year. I planted stuff in huge pots this year. I planted six 5 gallon pots of "Santa Claus melons". Those are coming along nicely. I have about 30 ready to pick in another week or so. I will sell some for $7 each. Once you've had one, you'll want more.
Watching your paps hustle at the market is awesome! Tell people to try substituting Lebanese squash in zucchini bread, its really good and pretty easy to make
I fully agree with you that it's an honest work, But I don't agree with you that it ain't much. The hard work that you and other farmers do to provide food to your community is far off from being "ain't much" on the contrary it is the most important for basic survival. I salute you and your family for you hard work and dedication. Just some uplifting words from a stranger ... Cheers🍺
All of your produce always looks great and just a heads up on your video roasting corn and andrew coming up behind you enjoying your roasting skills i was really impressed with the burlap bag covering the corn " Great Idea ". people don't realize how many hours a day you work. God Bless you/sammy and the whole family.
I love love love kolrabi :) only found that lately from watching farmers on UA-cam! Never even hear of it, not really sold in the supermarket in the uk. Just planted a load myself now!
Maybe one video you could do small interviews of your family and co-workers asking about jobs they like at the farm and their favorite things to harvest or do and so on. How they got into farming and if they think you're a slacker for just talking to a camera while they are working.
Lol! I was wondering the same thing if they thought he was a slacker for holding the camera while others were working and I wondered how in the world could one person hold that many heads of broccoli and still manage to hold a camera?! Way to go!! Congrats on the rain I’ll continue to pray for rain for you. ❤️🙏🏻🥰🇨🇦🫶🏻
Another great video. Wish we had the farmers markets here in Louisiana like y'all do. Most of our farmers markets a closed this time of year cause of the heat. Like today it was 100 degrees with a humidity of 85 and a heat index of 117. Keep up the good work bless all of y'all.
man the produce looked awesome. You are starting to get a lot of different kinds also. It must be nice seeing the money comming in for a change instead of going out huh. Hope for a long growing season and good weather for people to shop. good to see Ben back (like him) (works hard with a smile) Sammi hangs right in there with yall, three hard workers . good good video Logan thanks again
Hey Logan, good to see yawl. We went to our huge farmers market today. Not much growing here in the hot temps. 109 today so we are just praying for something to happen with the weather. God bless your family! Mike & Rochelle
Your Paps is one wheeler dealer!! It's great watching him make the sales. I'm curious, is Ben a family member, friend, employee? I have gotten the rest of the group finally figured out! Great job to all of you!
I love these farmer markets not so much for the price but the freshness however a lot of these vendors are buying from large produce warehouses and pretending to be a local farmer.
Hey Logan. Can I make a suggestion? I think people want to see more interaction. We want to get to know you and your family. I'm camera shy, too, so I understand. You don't have to dazzle us...just talk to us. Btw, you're doing a fantastic job!
People need to get over the need for vegetables to be absolutely perfect. They all have the same nutritional value and took the same effort to grow. Why should they be cheaper?
@@jfig120 I agree with you. But, grocery stores and markets only sell perfect looking fruit and veggies. It has been marketed this way by the media Plus many farmers give imperfect veggies to farm animals thinking no one will buy it, or leave it in the field for compost.
@@robertsmith1865 All true. That needs to change, especially when buying directly from the farmer at a farmer's market. It's , frankly, disrespectful to the person who grew it to expect a discount.... It's asking them to discount the value of their labor and time.
Wow, I’m in the Central Valley of California and there’s no way I’d ever pay $1 for one tomato at a Farmer’s Market or roadside stand. I might pay $.50 each, but usually I get four for $1.
Fun watching gramps dealing at the market!
Farmer’s Markets Rock! Thanks for your Consistent and Strong 💪 Efforts growing Food for ALL of us. 👍🙏
Paps is the man. Make that $$.
You can't beat honest work and good vegetables. Keep up the good work!
I enjoyed watching and hearing your Pap WHEELING & DEALING and what a BEAUTIFULL SUNSET. I could use some FRESH STRING BEANS about now.
Beautiful sunset from the field.

So what do you do with left overs if you don’t sell them on next farmers market either?
We try to sell them at a lower price if they are still good, if not we tend to give it to our and our neighbors animals. Thanks for watching 😃
what a qt
Do you guys ever donate to a food bank
We need to verify so I can find the real farmers

they were runnin' over $3 each here by Columbus OH for hot house maters earlier this year ... it's still early so no wonder they sold out ..
