1: full length awning, eliminate the tent. 2: travel trailer fold out stairs 3: swing out handrail at the side door stairs for customer safety 4: crank down jacks on trailer corners to eliminate trailer suspension bounce when people walk through trailer 5: square front trailer for additional interior space compared to pointed nose trailer.
Be careful with the full-sized canopies mounted on the trailer. They can easily be damaged and then you have nothing to use. Consider longer legs for the tent instead
Agree with other suggestions …. some other thoughts- - Putting adhesive, non-skid treads on ramp. Once rain comes, even if covered, ramp will get wet & slick. - Steps need a hand rail, at least on one side. - Signs above freezers with what’s in each freezer - Agree with some sort of ‘enter here’ or ‘come on in & shop’ > agree w/ what Chuck mentioned- I would not have walked into trailer unless I saw Saundra b/c I would’ve thought I wasn’t allowed in there. - Brighter or taller sign near ramp…I remember seeing something about steaks on your sign but that’s it. You guys offer a MUCH wider variety of pork (and beef) products but that isn’t apparent to the average person walking by booth now. With prior set-up, people passing by scanned the magnetic signs quickly and bingo- saw you had sausage, tenderloin, etc and were likely drawn into the booth to check things out. How do you clearly show your variety of products to those walking by so they want to come in?
close the void up, connect the tent and trailer. remove all doubt they are connected. put up a sign that says sheraton park farms meat here and use a big arrow pointing inside the trailer.
Love the trailer, I would add vinyl lettering on the walls of the trailer mentioning what’s in the cooler and add signage to the ends of the cooler facing out that say “ENTER HERE”
The main thing that stands out to me, is have one or two of those beautiful steaks meat side up! Let them see the wonderful that your beef is. So glad you had a great maiden voyage with the meat trailer. Yes, we DO love Saundra!!!!
The wooden exit stairs are a personal injury attorneys dream. Burn them and buy an aluminum one with hand rails and certified for commercial/ retail use. Love the channel and wish y’all the best
Slide the tent, all the way against the trailer, spin your table around where the sign is facing outward, and also slide it against the trailer flash with the entrance. Bring in an additional table and connect it to the table with the sign, making an L shape so people exiting out the trailer may place their items on the new table for a check out. And I always enjoy watching your videos!
Maybe think about reversing your flow. Easier to go up the stairs empty handed and come down the ramp with your basket. That would also allow the person in the tent to direct them up the stairs into the trailer. Just my thoughts, good luck! Love watching your channel.
I agree that an entrance sign out front is needed, and in conjunction with that, a sign advertising what is in the trailer...beef, pork, chicken, and eggs.
May want to consider putting something non slip on tailgate, I have a trailer that I use for my cabinet business and a little moisture and it gets very slippery. Also a handrail at both doors, older people will appreciate that I believe. But other than that seems like a great idea!
First thing I would recommend is you not leave your cash box sitting on the table while you aren't standing next to it. lol. Ans maybe one of you stand at the entrance to the trailer? Everyone knows you both, so a familiar face at the entrance will draw them to the trailer. Glad it was a great first day with it. 🥰
Add a canopy/awning over the entrance ramp so that Sandra can sit out front and welcome people into the trailer. Also on rainy days that ramp can become slippery, so keeping it try would be good. You mentioned that the steps were a little high. Watch your second customer in the video. Highly recommend a handrail, she was a little unstable and almost stepped off of the second step. Great setup on the coolers. Looks like you have room above them for shelves for more product.
The freezers with the glass lids are so nice. Allows customers to see your products without opening. Maybe turn the meat packages over so the product shows instead of the packaging & labels. Also, signage above each freezer would help.
I lived in a small town that had a local guy drive around in a relatively small truck that was a portable grocery store including butcher shop, fresh vegetables, canned goods, dairy and everything else I loved it
Hello my suggestion is have your tent right up against side of trailer. Come on in sign. Inside trailer on walls have some sort of signage of what your selling. Have a life size cut out sign of you guys pointing with you pointing into your stand. Your the brand.!! Have an arrow on the drop down door so people know it's OK to walk in on your door. Have a product list pamphlet you hand out. ❤
Having sold our farm-raised meat out of coolers at markets for years you are on the right track!! You can pack any day of the week, you don't have to unpack as soon as you get back and the product stays MUCH better! We also have a retail stand that people shop the freezers and they really like being able to pick out their product. I agree that you need handrails and none skid on the ramp...maybe you can use non-skid paint to paint WELCOME on the ramp. And the idea of a roll out canopy like a camper as someone suggested would tie the spots together and eliminate the hassle of the tent. Keep up the good work!
I really like your "new look". You've already identified the things that work/don't work so things are looking good. I know you already have plans to put a monitor on the wall with a video of your beautiful farm (and the humane conditions that your animals are kept in). I think it all looks good. I would recommend a ramp on the exit (perhaps with a handrail for the elderly/infirm as I'd hate to see anyone fall on your steps. People really do appreciate that you're doing everything possible to be inclusive. Of course, the extra booth looks a bit bare so it would be great if you could tie it in with your trailer and, possibly, extend your range of goods for sale - but you've already identified that. There are already lots of good suggestions from other viewers One things for sure: you'll have plenty of space for ice-cream / ice lollies when it gets hot ;-) Oh. I almost forgot: a supply of business cards/ flyers advertising your farm and what you have to offer would be good too. I know you have it on your trailer but a flyer would be a good "memory jogger". Can I aso suggest that you place the meat side up (so the customer can see the quality) and the black side with the label down? When a customer likes what they see, you've already sold it by the time they look at the price label. What I mean to say is the price label shouldn't be the first thing the customer sees.
We started our own freeze dried candy, we have been doing craft shows for many years. Every show is a learning curve, we're having issues with wind this year here in NC! My suggestions is paint the door that you lower down for the customers with your logo and enter here. Great set up, my wife and I were talking about rehabbing an old popup trailer for vendor events?
Seeing how your setup is known for your red/white coolers I would have wrapped the freezers in vinyl to make them stand out as yours. And almost look like your coolers. Little late now but just the change I would have done.
I think turn the trailer sideways and put visual signage on sides. Put your eggs and outside items at and around ramp. Put hand rails on the exit steps. I think this idea of the food trailer is absolutely perfect ❤. I realize you do have the side of the trailer with your name and logo ❤❤❤
When you get a larger trailer look into an ATV/Snowmobile trailer with ramp doors front and back, that will eliminate the steps. Adding lettering either to the walls or freezer tops with what products are below, ( steaks, roasts, hamburger) . Ad open flags to the rear of the trailer would also help. Adding an awning to the right side of the trailer so when customers walk out your right there & hang t-shirts and caps from it.
You guys were really smart in stepping up with the trailer this year, if for no other reason than , by what I seen , the direct competition you had this year, we saw 2 or 3 other vendors selling meat and eggs this year that we haven't seen in the past, you guys really stood out. You may want to check your date for the next market, the Clemmons paper is advertising it for May 11, good to see you again, and happy that you had a very successful Saturday
Maybe the new tent could overlap the trailer a little to make it look like all one booth. Adjust the steps before someone falls out the door or put yellow across the step. Move the table nearer the exit that will make it look more like all in one. Love the new set up. The freezers are so nice.
Love the new freezers! As a disabled grandma, I would want sturdy handrails or even a ramp. Plus, consider a rope to make an isle to the entrance with a very Enter Here sign. And try to shrink that big empty space. Just walking by and not seeing anything, some folks wont investigate. Figure out a way to show your meat products. Colorful bright picture posters? You guys are so awesome!
Love your channel. I like the trailer idea. I would like to suggest a sign near the walk way at the ramp, “PICK YOUR OWN MEAT” with an arrow into the trailer. I like Sandra’s idea about more signage on the freezer ends facing the public. “COME ON IN” or something like that. Careful on changing too much loosing your successful branding. God Bless, hope the best.
Suggestion: as you go in pork right chicken left the beef left in the 2nd. That way the do not have lot of beef and pork lookers back to back. But on one side your logo on the side of the cooler and on the other enter here. But you do have to shopping baskets on one side. The above the freezers on the walls if you can put the types of cuts type below.
It was such a pleasure meeting you two at the Clemmons farmers market. Yall definitely have an awesome set up. Them steaks were off the chart. Huk keeps asking when we going back to see that lady. Sorry chuck Just so you know Huk lit up like a Christmas tree when y’all mentioned his name.
What I love about this is it’s like a grocery store. Sometimes I don’t like purchasing because the farmer brings me their option and not able to pick out my own.
The association with SPF and red and white tents, coolers, and tablecloths has been your standard. A shock shift in signage might slow or impede people finding you. I love the new signage. Maybe doing a slow transition by combining, then dropping red.
Maybe another good idea is to get some red decals that marks each freezer/cooler on the wall behind them of the product contained within them. Pic of beef behind the beef cooler etc. That would brighten the decor inside as well. Otherwise folks, this looks great.
Looks fantastic. However, you might think about some kind of hand railing for those steps....it is a danger, especially for older folks. Also, get yourself a flag made that says "Sheraton Farms Meats" or something like that and attach it to the top of the trailer so it can be seen from far away.
For tying it together I'd say big "dummy-proof" signs with products in big letters (grass fed beef etc) outside the trailer and everything the same color scheme to make it clear at first glance that it's all one operation. Just my two cents. God bless, y'all are awesome!
Since a lot of people recognize yall by the red coolers, maybe put a couple outside the ramp into the trailer as pseudo funnels to show them in. Could even put the chalkboard on them, I think signs are read more often at a higher level than looking down. Could put some red checkerboard decals on the trailer to match with your stand so people know its the same place. People are a lot like cattle, they'll usually take the easiest path of least resistence.
Agree on the handrails. You could mount the handrail on removable pins or hinges. I would also consider getting some stanchions with ropes/flags etc directing people up the ramp.
Another idea I came up with after my nap. Install a few cameras inside the trailer. One for UA-cam channel content and for security purposes. Good luck
🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations!!! My opinion on upgrades: 1) Move the tent closer to the trailer. 2) Take the red coolers, stack them, label each cooler with one of; Chicken - Pork - Beef, 3) in the top cooler place a box with a sign letting them know to "Come on in and shop". 4) You definitely need a handrail on the steps. Sorry but my hips wouldn't let me walk down them.
I think adding an awning to the side of the trailer would be the fix. One that rolls up like on a camper. It would be attached above the door and roll out to whatever width you need. When customers walk out, they will be closer to you.
Maybe an awning that matches your new tent that can roll open and meet up to the tent! Or a slightly taller tent that can sit between the trailer and tent to make it more like one big space
I have an herb festival every year. Placing the canopy up to the trailer should help. Draping line of lights under the canopy or lights in the trailer will he inviting too. Your wondeful logo on the trailer ramp would be a nice large area to cover. Like a big welcome mat.
I just remembered one more impression.... you had the black with label side up in the freezers. If you turn the meat side up, I think that is more appealing to see.
I have a similar setup with the trailer. I’ve been wanting to add a RV canopy to the side of the trailer. I really like your freezers they make it easy for the customer to see what you have. I also made signs for the end of my freezers so people walking by could see what we were a meat vendor. Your setup looks awesome god bless hope y’all have a great season
I love the new trailer. One possible idea maybe could be a mat of some sort with your logo on it that can lay on the back ramp once you open it up 🤷🏻♀️
I am super happy how you guys changed that up very quick. Imagine when you get a high traffic market on the route this will attract people it’s eye candy, organized and most importantly stocked… Now Market Market Market and Brand Extremely hard!! Maybe a price bored ,simple easy, bold signs and the tvs , flyers, pamphlets… See Uncle Chuck this is a Skinny Jeans move 😂😂 sometimes you gotta put them on and think out side the suspenders and John Deere Hat
You could put a non-slip mat on the ramp going into your trailer. Put your logo on the mat. Make the logo big and bright, so everyone knows who you are. Sit closer to the aisle where customers walk past, so they see you. Put a bright arrow shaped sign out near the ramp, pointing into the trailer.
Using an awning connected to the trailer instead of a tent / canopy. Eliminate the space between if possible. Handrail on the steps and non-slip for the ramp. Nice set-up all around. Glad you had a good sales day. I am tickled for you both.
A couple of things I can think of are steps with rails, awning like RV'S have. Signs above the freezers with what type of meat and the cut. Might be a good idea to put anti-slip on ramp and steps. Some type of hat rack or shelf for the hat's to sell.
Greetings! We absolutely love the looks of your new setup! (Future goals for us! Lol!) An idea we have for your "brand recognition" would be to put a huge logo on the walk up ramp to the trailer...and maybe wrap your new coolers with your signature red color.
I think your idea of an entrance sign is a good idea. Include some silly graphics to encourage the kids to pull mom and dad in. Signs on the wall above your coolers (chalk boards showing contents?) would help people know where to look. It looks like a great start!!
Nice clean look inside the trailer. I would recommend to install white boards above each cooler. You will be able to let your customers know what is in each freezer and the price. When you run out of an item you can just wipe it off the board. Good luck
Loving the new setup, signs behind the freezers, BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN, as others have said meat side up, black side down Emphasize that all your meat is PASTURE FED & RAISED
Maybe try putting the tent up against the trailer there’s enough space in between the tent and the trailer in this video that I can see how people may have thought that it was a different booth. Also, I agree with the comment about putting a handrail on at least one side of the steps.
One thing I see is just put a rail on trailer steps! “ safety “. Other than that I’m taking a note from yall on my set up I love it!!! Great job you guys. Love ya Doug
Labels for "beef", "pork", and "chicken" low on the walls over each freezer. I think a video streamer high on the left wall could make it more obvious to enter and shop.
Add a sign at the entrance of the trailer that prompts people to walk in the trailer. My suggestion is that it says “Walk In Store “ or your logo with “Walk In” below the logo.
Stack your coolers on the left and right side of the trailer with your sign and people will see the red coolers and know it’s you. Just a thought. Thank you for what you do.
Get an awning the same print and color as your tent to hang oved the door. Put tent as close to tge trailer as possible. Set up your checkout stand right beside the trailer entrance.
I think that if people are already confused and are looking for your red and white coolers it will only get worse if you change your colors to green and white. But that's my opinion. I do like the idea of some kind of entrance or come in sign so they know they can come through. A hand rail on the steps for the people with less mobility and elderly would be a good idea as well.
I used command hooks a lot on the inside and outside of my trailer. You could get some of those to hang up your hats on the wall which will free up more egg space on your egg shelf.
You could put Sheraton Park Farms on the inside of the ramp into the trailer. You could put enter here on the ramp. Just a thought. I love the trailer idea.
I’d also consider getting your tent as closer to the trailer as you can, that’ll help. Maybe get your checkout area closer to the entrance to the trailer. Maybe a different angle?
i took things to a FM for 20 yr in bath NY. I was the 7th person to join. We opened at 6am and closed at noon. Then it got bigger and starting time was put at 7am and closing at noon. Time went by and it went to an 8am start still closing at noon. It also became more of a flea market with only 13 ppl selling stuff they had grown out of about 60 venders. I liked it when we had 6 hr to sell. could sell a lot more then just the 4 hr they went to. I left market b/c I did not have even that 4 hr anymore twice a week Sat and Wed. Had set up a bunch of honor stands and those hr were need to fill them. hell back in 06 the town fathers tried to stop the market but public said no and three lost their seats over it. The market i went to relied on the lack ppl to support it. By lake ppl I mean the 5M ppl who live in the finger Lakes regime of Upstate NY in summer only,. Rich ppl who ma & kids go to the lake house while Da comes up form City on weekends. Do they ever pay high prices. We all had to prices. The one we had marked for the rich ppl and then the price we slod to much poorer locals We all knew who was who. I went and got the ability to take food stamps and WIC. These ppl paid half of what the rich lake ppl paid. When we had opening at 6am the locals came before 8 then after hat it was mostly lake ppl. I like the 6am opening b/c of this.
I know people mentioned the handrail. But for identifying, maybe have a smaller tent in between the big one and the trailer. Just something to visually connect the two. Doing a great job. Love your videos.
Use a banner that runs across both both sites. Use your chosen color to identify and unify the whole operation. The print on your signs should include letters or borders in your main color. People identify you with red. What is the benefit of changing your main color theme? Use the incline ramp as sighage. "Welcome to Sheraton Farms Meat Market!" For instance. Maybe have an indoor/outdoor with the Welcome sign printed on it. That plywood will get slippery in the rain. Must provide hand rails going in and out. One slip and fall could cost you everything. Really liked what you are doing there.
Id look into a large jackery or similar product. The generator is going to work but a battery generator is perfectly quiet. Hand rails and big bold signs. Your farm logo on the ramp in a skateboard tape and beer, pork and chicken over every cooler
It looks great and even more professional than you already were. I believe once you get everything tweeked and more efficient, your sales will go through the roof. If Oregon was closer, I would deffinetly come see yawll. I do have a large number of relatives your way. I will let them know to check you out
Only thing I seen was maybe putting in a handrail for coming down the steps, I did see one customer kinda struggle coming down
I thought the same thing a lawsuit ready to happen.
Just gonna say that..
My thoughts exactly.
Agree, you may want to consider some type of portable handrail front and side for customers. Love the trailer shopping idea!
Add a roll up canopy/awning the full length on side of unit like RV's eliminating the tent saving space and ease of setup and tear down.
This is a great suggestion! Would make setting up and taking down a breeze! And no extra hauling except table and chairs!
1: full length awning, eliminate the tent.
2: travel trailer fold out stairs
3: swing out handrail at the side door stairs for customer safety
4: crank down jacks on trailer corners to eliminate trailer suspension bounce when people walk through trailer
5: square front trailer for additional interior space compared to pointed nose trailer.
Be careful with the full-sized canopies mounted on the trailer. They can easily be damaged and then you have nothing to use. Consider longer legs for the tent instead
Agree with other suggestions …. some other thoughts-
- Putting adhesive, non-skid treads on ramp. Once rain comes, even if covered, ramp will get wet & slick.
- Steps need a hand rail, at least on one side.
- Signs above freezers with what’s in each freezer
- Agree with some sort of ‘enter here’ or ‘come on in & shop’ > agree w/ what Chuck mentioned- I would not have walked into trailer unless I saw Saundra b/c I would’ve thought I wasn’t allowed in there.
- Brighter or taller sign near ramp…I remember seeing something about steaks on your sign but that’s it. Good ideas
Jill, I like each of your ideas. You think things through very well. You must have a good mind.
close the void up, connect the tent and trailer. remove all doubt they are connected. put up a sign that says sheraton park farms meat here and use a big arrow pointing inside the trailer.
Iam one who loves Saundra, she seems so sweet and easy going. Pretty lady too.
Love the trailer, I would add vinyl lettering on the walls of the trailer mentioning what’s in the cooler and add signage to the ends of the cooler facing out that say “ENTER HERE”
I wonder if magnetic signage “”Chicken” Beef, Pork on the inside walls would help direct customers to the right freezer.
The main thing that stands out to me, is have one or two of those beautiful steaks meat side up! Let them see the wonderful that your beef is. So glad you had a great maiden voyage with the meat trailer. Yes, we DO love Saundra!!!!

maybe you need one of those large standing flags with your name on it. Also put up signage on each freezer so people know what is inside better
Good idea! 👍
Maybe think about reversing your flow. Easier to go up the stairs empty handed and come down the ramp with your basket.
That would also allow the person in the tent to direct them up the stairs into the trailer.

Chuck, make some PVC leg extensions for your canopy and move it beside the trailer. Nice set up!

Handrail is a must, think handicap access. ramp is better, per ADA guidelines.
Install a awning on the trailer like what is on a camp trailer. That will give you shade you need and tie it all together.
The freezers with the glass lids are so nice. Allows customers to see your products without opening.
Maybe turn the meat packages over so the product shows instead of the packaging & labels.
Also, signage above each freezer would help.

I like this unique idea to use non-skid paint to write welcome on the ramp. 😊
Saundra is adorable 🙂 always makes me smile...keep up the good work!
Yes, a "Come on In!" sign where you want people to enter. It's a great looking set up!

Second ramp in ramp out with hand rails. Saw a stroller coming in with no easy way out
Paint thoughts freezers red!! Man I really like this set up! Looks great! It will catch on to the other folks.

Paint your name on the fold out ramp with an arrow and the word entrance pointing inside. Love your new trailer idea.
If you put adhesive grip on the ramp. Paint yellow arrows to enter on it.
Lots of great ideas that don't need repeating.
Love the whole set up.

Looks fantastic. However, you might think about some kind of hand railing for those steps....it is a danger, especially for older folks. Also, get yourself a flag made that says "Sheraton Farms Meats" or something like that and attach it to the top of the trailer so it can be seen from far away.
Move your tent to attach it to your trailer and make it where they see that it’s one piece and also keep them out of the rain
Right, make the tent part of the trailer, no gap.I see you had a great day!! Love Sondra!! so happy for the both of you. K.C
Move the tent up against the trailer to make it look like one booth. I think your set up is awesome!
Another idea I came up with after my nap. Install a few cameras inside the trailer. One for UA-cam channel content and for security purposes.
Good luck
🎉🎉🎉 Congratulations!!!
My opinion on upgrades:
1) Move the tent closer to the trailer.
I love your new setup , god bless you ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Consider moving the tent directly next to the trailer, (as one unit) and add a rail to the side steps.
Maybe a sign on top of a red cooler at the bottom of the ramp that says “enter here to shop” and “pay under tent”
Find a 4th of July event !! Sell to BBQ and chefs they’ll buy it up
I’d put a banner across the top of the tent. Maybe some balloons for attention and just bigger signs
Use the floor of the drop down door for a sign that says “Enter Here”.
Lol!)
An idea we have for your "brand recognition" would be to put a huge logo on the walk up ramp to the trailer...and maybe wrap your new coolers with your signature red color.
I think your idea of an entrance sign is a good idea. Include some silly graphics to encourage the kids to pull mom and dad in. Signs on the wall above your coolers (chalk boards showing contents?) would help people know where to look. It looks like a great start!!
I don’t wear skinny jeans, and I love Saundra! I appreciate your videos.
Nice clean look inside the trailer.
I would recommend to install white boards above each cooler. You will be able to let your customers know what is in each freezer and the price. When you run out of an item you can just wipe it off the board.
Good luck
Loving the new setup, signs behind the freezers, BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN, as others have said meat side up, black side down
Emphasize that all your meat is PASTURE FED & RAISED
How about a red carpet on the ramp! 🥰
Also, signs above each cooler, saying what's in it. (beef, pork, chicken)
We are watching you two like a hawk. Fabulous!
Maybe try putting the tent up against the trailer there’s enough space in between the tent and the trailer in this video that I can see how people may have thought that it was a different booth. Also, I agree with the comment about putting a handrail on at least one side of the steps.
You should put a retractable red and white awning coming on the side of the trailer so it's all connected
Get a roll out canopy put on the trailer and you could get rid of the tent and join the 2 together better
Add a sign at the entrance of the trailer that prompts people to walk in the trailer. My suggestion is that it says “Walk In Store “ or your logo with “Walk In” below the logo.
You could use brightly colored tape to tape traffic flow arrows on the ground of the trailer and steps
Stack your coolers on the left and right side of the trailer with your sign and people will see the red coolers and know it’s you. Just a thought. Thank you for what you do.
I love it, wish you guys were over here in Washington
Get an awning the same print and color as your tent to hang oved the door. Put tent as close to tge trailer as possible. Set up your checkout stand right beside the trailer entrance.
Trailer would sit sideways and the side door would be entrance and y’all on the backside for the exit. Looks great
I think that if people are already confused and are looking for your red and white coolers it will only get worse if you change your colors to green and white.
Move the tent next to the exit of your trailer
Put a smaller tent up against the entrance to show it’s the same booth!!
Great looking set up with your Mobile Store! Love the idea!
Add a "welcome" or "come on in" sign at the entrance. Something bright and noticeable. Definitely add a handrail to your stairs!
I would look into putting a roll out canopy above the right side of the trailer and consider placing your check out area under that.
Id look into a large jackery or similar product. The generator is going to work but a battery generator is perfectly quiet.
Hand rails and big bold signs. Your farm logo on the ramp in a skateboard tape and beer, pork and chicken over every cooler
I would recommend putting some no slip tape on the back and the stairs.
It looks great and even more professional than you already were. I believe once you get everything tweeked and more efficient, your sales will go through the roof. If Oregon was closer, I would deffinetly come see yawll. I do have a large number of relatives your way. I will let them know to check you out
I love it. Ditto what everyone else said. Congratulations ❤
