in the first game I think the sheep monos (at least the first one) weren't actually terrible since it did hinder you a lot. Maybe it was still a waste and waiting would have yielded a better mono (for the second one definitely) but if that first mono didn't happen you would have gotten the 3:1 way sooner

I think you have a wrong intuition about dice rolls. If a certain number was not rolled for a long time there is not a higher chance it will be rolled in the next roll, so it is better to not rely on it. You can only make optimistic bets on the distribution of dice rolls for the whole game.
There is a specific dice set that is coded for 1v1 called “balance dice” which they have written about. This is why he is making assumptions based on the rolls. It is factual but specifically only for 1v1 and this balanced dice code. Shouldn’t be translated to regular games as you are mentioning
