Thank you for keeping on going. You are blessed to be able to have a Christian family and friends to help you through the grief. After 5 years of my wife's illness that eventually took her life 3 years ago, I have found all "so called friends" we used to have have died off. I have no one BUT GOD. Like you I have to enjoy GOD'S presence, He has showed me to enjoy and stand on HIS WORD to overcome my loneliness and grief. We were married 42 years. She was my best friend and my companion. I enjoy seeing your genuine smile and GOD'S SPIRIT shining through. Be Blessed.
There are some really good spiritual speakers that have helped me alot for the past several years. Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Priscilla Shirer and Dr. Wayne Dyer (he's deceased but has great tapes and videos). They r on utube and have helpful books. My father passed away 20 yrs ago but I miss him alot. When he passed, hospital chaplain said it'll be like a hole in ur heart but you'll have good days and some sad times will come over you like a wave. That is exactly how it's been for me. I pray for you that you'll find comfort and peace 🕊️ in ur life. God bless you!!
I can't even cook anymore, I'm an incomplete quadriplegic. Becky, you are a gift from God, I'm just here for the fellowship and your wonderful recipes that bring back so many fantastic memories of family born and raised in the Smoky Mountains and Appalachia. My mom grew up in the hills between Kentucky and West Virginia, and was born in 1922. She was 1 of 6 kids,and her daddy was shot and killed running moonshine in those hills, and her step dad (God bless him) raised all 6 of those children on a coalminer's pay. She went to school with Hatfields and McCoy's and never mentioned any fued? Patches on their clothes and hand-me-downs worked wonders, along with cardboard in their shoes. Everyone went to church on Sunday morning to thank God for providing them with a roof over their heads, food for the table (they butchered a chicken on Sundays), the clothes on their backs, and the coal to keep them warm. My Memaw still had a coal burning stove in the 80's, and we grandkids got $2 for our birthday every year, and still went to a pentecostal church with the pastor running up and down the isles with rattlesnakes in his hands. I love the Lord, but I really have to pass on the venomous snakes. Sorry about rambling on, you just bring back so many great memories. The different versions of the Bible say it different ways and he liked the New English version that says, "Don't worry about anything but pray about everything....." My little family lost our Baby girl,Samantha forever 32 while she was waiting for transplant surgery. Her mommy her older brother and her younger brother and me her aunt TT are lost without her.
