It’s sad that a lovely genuine horse had to end his career early. At least you know where he is and you know Andrew very well so in a way it’s worked out where he’s living the rest of his days and telling his freinds all the fun adventures he’s had over the ridden years etc. You did what most people wouldn’t of done , you put him first and you never treated him like a machine. Lucy your seriously amazing and you did a very good job with him. 💚
I recently made the decision to put down my top horse due to the fact she had a unknown undiagnosed neurological condition, she took and turn and she became a danger to herself and everyone else, we made the decision and it will always be the right one. You and his owner know what is best and he'll get to spend his time in the field enjoying himself for the rest of his days.
Oh, Lucy. I'm so sorry that things have turned out this way, but props to you for doing what you think is best for him. It's never an easy decision - mad respect to you
Your most special hard working horse and done so much made so many memories in life and accomplished so much Harry and most greatest horse happy retirement 🐴 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Lucy you have been so brave sharing Harry’s health issues, you have always put your horses first and I’m so sorry that Harry had to leave you. He will love having the winter out with his lady friend, don’t tell Your girls they will get jealous. 💕💕
So sorry to hear you have retired Harry. The good part is he can retire at a beautiful place. Take care. I enjoy your blogs. Especially the "fox hunting" with bloodhounds. That is so amazing to watch horses and dogs working together. Take care.
I'm so sorry, Lucy!! There really aren't any words, that will make this better, I'm sure. I'm glad Harry has a good home where he can live out the remainder of his days being taken care of, and loved, and I'm glad you can still see him.❣️
Putting the horse first is always the right decision, even it it's hard. You are so sweet to have taken such good care of him and he is probably happy living out with his friend now :)
God, Harry is such a beauty, inside and out, and was built to event, just not forever. Mad props to you, Miss Lucy, for making the right and safe decision for both of you. Harry will be as happy as can be in his retirement in excellent care. "Better to have evented and lost than never to have evented at all", I think the bard said. And, its not like you are left horseless, with plenty still on your plate to distract you. Clearly hard, but with buddies and turnout and plenty to eat and someone still to love and another to visit, Harry will be just fine :) Thank you for all you share.
You’ve had a rough time coming to the spot where you can say good luck to Harry and let him go. What a lovely video remembrance of him jumping. You are such a lovely rider with such giving and soft hands.
You have such a huge heart and it shows your first regard is for the horse and what is best. We are so sorry to hear of the hard decision but you know in your gut it was the right decision. Omg the music is beautiful brought tears to my eyes😢
Oh Lucy I’m sooo heartbroken for you. Sometimes the best decisions are the hardest to make. Harry is an epic boy and I hope he has a very happy retirement! He’s definitely earned it 💖
The best decision is often the hardest, you consulted with Harry's owner and vet and sometimes the outcome is not what you would like, very brave, very sensible and happy retirement Harry xx
It is always hard to retire a horse. And your Harry is such a lovely horse. How lovely he has a wonderful owner who can let him live out and have a nice retirement. Good decision all round. 💝

Oh Lucy I'm so sorry this has happened to Harry. You were so happy to have him back too, such a shame that a horse as genuine as him had to get this condition hun. But you have definitely made the right decision both for Harry and yourself. Like you said, it wasn't safe for you as a rider and we sure as heck don't want anything to happen to you hun! At least he will go and live out his days in a relaxed way, living his best life getting fat and fluffy in huge paddocks where it is stress free for him hun. Bye bye sweet Harry, til we see you again! Big hugs to you Lucy, I know how hard this must have been sweetheart, take care 🥰😘
