Aww bless you 🥺I teared up for you being brave and considerate enough to share this. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we all have to experience these things to learn from them. I think given that most horses are usually so sure footed that when they do trip and fall over it is such a shock to the system. Open fields still remain my underlying fear out hacking after a sideways spook that ended in me breaking my leg and dislocating my ankle. I’m in awe of your determination to stay strong and put it behind you. You are so kind to share this wishing you a good recovery xxx
When a horse breaks a leg sometimes the bone can cut their blood vessels so Down the rest of the leg there would be no blood supply the leg and the tissue can die
I love how sweet they were and the guy got a hold of Woody for you. Love seeing people helping people out. We need more people like that in this world.
This is very true. I was in a very bad jumping accident ( I wascrolled on) and I know the horse tried everything he could to avoid me. I tried to roll out of the way, causing him to trip over me and then he rolled back over me. I’m not sure who was more traumatised. Me or the horse
The dizzy and nauseous feeling is just shock and the distribution of excess blood to your vital organs. It’s just your bodies survival mode kicking in automatically. It passes after ten minutes or so. Always give yourself those ten or more minutes for your body to come back to normal.
Thanks. I was confused about that & the fainting. I presumed feeling sick and going into shock was a sign of a broken bone or head injury so I've learnt something new. 😀
I mean I know what u r saying but don’t think it’s wise to give medical advice unless u r a medical professional. You don’t know she could have epilepsy, diabetes and the sugar was very low, a broken bone or a head injury can cause that. I’m just saying this because I am a nurse practitioner and I have several chronic illnesses. I do have epilepsy, gastroparesis, lupus and diabetes. My fear is that I’ll have an issue with sugar or a seizure as I don’t take my medical service dog riding. I guess I’m too sensitive to the subject. I’m sure that the people she’s riding with also know if there’s any medical issues.
@@guardiansanimalrescuestate7289 It sounds like you have a large amount of medical issues alright. My advice is borne out of medical training and is relevant in the above case.

Thanks for sharing the good and the bad! Most people do not, I’m even guilty of this oops. Glad you are both okay and what a kind man who got a hold of Woody for you!💞
Oh my god. It wasn't the fall that made my heart stop for you - it was you passing out. 😭 I hope you went to the hospital! Woody was such a good boy trying not to step on you. Sending hugs from down under x
Thank you for sharing the fall. Horse's tripping over is one of my biggest fears after my horse tripping and rolling on top of me and no one ever really talks about falling off. People make it seem like its no big deal and if you get a bit worried or think you aren't 100% afterwards you are being silly, and should instantly jump back on with no issues. So thank you for sharing it in such a sympathetic and realistic light, and being able to take from the situation afterwards x
I've been following you for a little while now and I love how down to earth and truthful you are about everything. The good and the bad. So glad you are both ok and what a good boy woody was to do everything to not stand on you when you fell.
Firstly, thank you for sharing this! It’s so brave to share this in a world full of critics but really insanely helpful to see a real situation & you taking ownership to help teach other ☺️ I’m so glad you & woody are both ok, I could feel that fall from your camera... that was hard!
I love how he kept reassuring that is is okay to take your time, that it is more important to make sure you are ok than rushing things and that there is nothing to worry about going on or anyone throwing around any blame towards you/your horse for the fall. Great couple, amazing amazing amazing reassuring of a rider after a fall who is in shock and just "wants to get back on and keep going" in the back of the head. :D
So glad you and Woody are okay after that, hindsight is a wonderful thing. Thank you for sharing this, it’s not easy but you handled it well he looked like he was such a saint throughout the whole thing! This goes to show you never stop learning with horses 💕💕
I love that you went back and said what you would’ve done before, it’s an amazing example to be giving beginner/novice riders. you could definitely be saving a few people falling off, you’re an amazing rider. Glad you are both okay 💞
You did the right thing taking the car ride back. This reminded me of a fall many years ago where I was knocked unconscious and woke up in an ambulance. Surely a bad feeling but one that I learned from.
Thank you for sharing this! You managed this all very well, and Woody was a very good boy for not taking off for parts unknown and for standing so quietly while you recovered. I'm personally not a very brave rider, and I appreciate your willingness to share moments like this.
He was such a star. I felt so incredibly guilty afterwards ... he got so many carrots and cuddles 😂 its funny... even when I speak to riders I consider brave, they all tell me they are just as frightened, they just hide it better 😆
Wow. Super scary to see it happen as it did. Especially seeing you go down fainting. You poor thing but so self aware and such a great experience to learn from - that thankfully both of you are ok from. Thanks for sharing!
This is came up after I was researching bucking horses while licking my wound and broken collar bone . Thankyou for sharing your vulnerable moment . I cried for you and released my own fears with this .
Thank you for sharing ! Woody is so well behaved, standing there and waiting after the fall. He really is a very nice horse ! I am glad you are both fine :)
Rhi, thank you so much for sharing the footage from the fall. It happens to all of us! I appreciated that it is a very brave thing to do but will help others (including me) know what to do if faced with a simillar situation. I hope you are alright! xxx
Your horse is amazing, he took so care that he would not step on you!!! You will gebt it, you are a good team. I know falling with a horse gives you a big shock and shock's often get underestimated!!! Thank you for the video!!!
This is such a good video! The countryside is lovely , nice horses and people. It’s very helpful to watch videos from regular folks like so many of us are! It’s been a few years since I have done any serious riding, and my up and coming youngster is only 15 months, so I know the trepidation of those first rides out. I get nervous just watching these! Plus, the only people who don’t fall are the ones who don’t get on in the first place..so don’t feel bad ! Just happy that horse and rider are ok and can chalk that up to experience! Good job!😁
Oh Rhi, you are an absolute legend, and I so admire you for posting this! Firstly, I can see that you had really built your confidence round that course, by the time you got to that point there didn’t seem much to worry about. I would have done exactly the same thing, avoided the dog walkers. There was no reason for you to think that was a trip hazard there, that was a succession of things that happened and you can’t possibly predict all those things all of the time. Like you say, it’s horses. But this just shows what a brilliant, responsible rider you are. Thank you for showing us the not so glamours but oh so important part, that teaches us mere novices how accidents happen.. it’s invaluable learning for us all, and you are amazing for not being too proud and sharing this with us. You’re amazing! Woodys amazing! Glad you’re both ok xxxx
Thank you Nikki.. that was exactly it, by the time we got there i was so relaxed i wasn't really thinking about much but having fun 😂 I hope I'm never too proud to show the mess ups, they are the best learning experiences (and the most entertaining for you, let's be honest)
Glad both you and Woody are safe - It has happened to everyone , we are only humans destined to make mistakes. Take care and we are waiting for your next video ☺
Wow that was a fall , glad you are ok both of you . And no , no judgement here . There is no one who can judge us worse than ourselves. Just the very best of luck to you both .🫶👍🐾❤️
That fall was definitely a scary one. Im just soo happie that you and your horses are both ok. Can i also just say that (I could be wrong) thoes dog walkers where amazing on helping you and from what i could see helping your horse.❤❤ so happie you and ur horse are both ok, and thank you for showing this and explaining what happend and what whent wrong.❤❤❤
Well done for being so sensible about not getting back on, it is not nice when you fall off especially with that sick dizzy feeling after. Thanks for having the bravery to share! Xxx
What a beautiful fun ride. Such lovely scenery...we all make mistakes. .we all fall off.. all part of the learning journey of riding horses.. you know many riders never hack out. As too scared. Just stay in arena. Very boring.😅😅 i have always loved hacking. Had young horses. Getting them used to seeing the big wide world. Used to all the scary things. Then its an absolute joy to hack. But there will always be something horses have neved seen. Like that statue...!! Glad you are both ok. Woody is a lovely horse. You are such an refreshingly honest lovely person. Enjoy watching yoyr journey together your so right. Not everyone is super confident jumping.. Takes time to build up that confidence trust and bond with horse and rider....for just ruding woody fir a month. I think you are both doung great together.❤❤
Glad you are both ok. Also very informative to look at how you handled the situation and your thought processes and how you would have handled it differently. Very brave to share thank you xx
oh wow!! I hope you are okay!! My first ever fall on a horse(and only fall😅) I fell(I landed on my feet) but it was still very scary and I started shaking uncontrolebly and it was my 3rd ever Canter aswell😂😢
I love that you mention you try and get things second hand too - it’s so true you can get such good quality things for a lot cheaper ! So interesting to watch even though was awful to watch you fall! Hope your feeling better now. Love watching your vlogs x
So glad you are okay. Woody was such a good boy, too. Thank you for sharing your ups and downs with us. I’ve been out of horses for many years now, and I dread falling once I return, so seeing your perseverance and transparency are such confidence-boosters. 💜
Thankyou for sharing this fall as I really appreciated it and helped realise its OK to fall off. These things happen and its not a judgement of you or your riding. Which is how I always feel and why falling is a big fear for me as unfortunately I am my biggest critic and my own thoughts are the most judgemental ❤❤ Hope you weren't to sore xx
So wonderful that you were both ok and I always think that you can tell the caliber of a horse in what they do once their rider is down such a sweet gentleman. 💜
Yes, but it also says a lot about how much the horse cares about their rider. The fact that Woody & Rhi are so new each other - yet he stood guard told me that he knew he is with someone who cares for him, and returned the favor. Such a good boy. Was so worried when she fainted afterwards.
So glad you are both ok, it's so good the way you analyzed the fall to learn something from it for another day!! You'll have many wonderful fun rides in the future that will be problem free!! 😍
Sometimes when something happens to you so suddenly it can cause minor shock. The best thing you can do next time is sit down until it passes, because you'll most likely pass out (what happened). It's hard to remember that in the moment though, when you're disoriented and all you wanna do it just get back to what you were doing. We all make mistakes, things happen, we are all human. You and your horse make a great team!
No shame there. You've only had your new partner for 1 month. No way to know everything he has or has not been exposed to. I do hope you got Woody Vet checked... and you - checked for concussion. Anytime you pass out from a fall, very good chance of concussion. Proud of you for not being stupid/stubborn & getting back on. 👏👏👏 So nice of that man to walk Woody back. Extra 🥕🥕🥕 for Woody, hot bath 🛀 for you. If anyone writes a mean comment, do ignore their ignorance.
I really needed to see this today. I’ve been beating myself up because I’m scared of jumping. I’ve done fun rides and done little jumps but yet I still beat myself up, thanks for sharing
Glad you are both ok! Thank you for sharing - this is the reality of riding, and we all make mistakes. Thanks for sharing your learning and what you would have done differently. 🥰❤️🥰
The first fall frightened the life out of me, so no wonder you were so wobbly when you tried to get up! I’m so glad you didn’t try to ride back and that you had some wonderfully kind people nearby to help. I am also glad that you were brave enough to share the whole thing. It just goes to show that it can (and does!!) happen, but I’m really happy that you and Woody were okay x
I just started riding about 6 months ago, i ride twice a week and supplement the off days with youtube video learning. Last week the horse i was riding was spooked by a For Sale sign in someones yard. The horse had a similar reaction to what happened to you. i did a one rein pull, did a few circles, came to a stop and gave her some positive reinforcement. Thank you for sharing your experience.
I AM GOING TO JUDGE! Because I've been there! You & your horse did nothing wrong. He tripped, you fell. And that sick feeling, yeah, I remember that too. I didn't have the pass out though. Don't be embarrassed, it's good to show people that it happens to everyone, at anytime. Hope you & he recovered ok. P.s. He was a darling, made sure to avoid standing on you too, when trying to gather himself.
Oh my goodness Rhi, I cried when I saw that. I didn't expect you to faint. What a superstar sharing this for all riders to see and take lessons from. I am so glad you are both ok ❤️
Hay don't feel embarrassed We've all done the same thing at some stage with our horses Sorry that you fall. looks like you and Woody come out from it fine .You turned it into a very informative educational video.
The fall I had on my horse was down to me and my failure to give clear instruction to her, it is easy for us in the spur of the moment to make a bad judgement but I applaud you for sharing your own mistake on camera. Hindsight is a wonderful thing which we all learn from. Glad you and Woody are okay, thank you for sharing and showing how we learn from our mistakes.
I really appreciate your sharing such a delicate moment. As horse riders this has probably happened to most of us. The fact that your are willing to share and help other riders learn as well is commendable. Thank-you and good boy Woody!
Absolutely love your films! I miss my lovely treks in the beautiful English countryside. I have always find the kindness of the British people so assuring. Thank you for bringing back all those memories.
Really glad both of you are OK and safe. It's awful when you fall but everyone does it and you move on. He truly is a gorgeous boy and looks after you too. Yr bond is still growing but tbh you can tell he's loving your calm way with him. Please don't listen to any negative rubbish that may come as people always think they know better but at the end of the day it was you riding Woody that day and no one else ha. Look forward to Yr next vlog and stay safe xx
I know exactly what you mean by the sick feeling. I do believe that you should have slowed down when he started spooking at the statue, but everybody makes mistakes. I make mistakes all of the time. The dog walkers were so sweet and polite, God bless them.
So glad you are both okay! Thank you for sharing, this happens to all of us that share a passion for horses! It can shake your confidence for sure. I love how you revisited the fall and broke it down. Great advice! Thank you again, you and Woody are superstars! 😍🐎

It's hard to remember that in the moment though, when you're disoriented and all you wanna do it just get back to what you were doing. We all make mistakes, things happen, we are all human. You and your horse make a great team!
Bless you, well done, it’s not great falling off, you’re doing a great job xx
No shame there. You've only had your new partner for 1 month. No way to know everything he has or has not been exposed to. I do hope you got Woody Vet checked... and you - checked for concussion. Anytime you pass out from a fall, very good chance of concussion. Proud of you for not being stupid/stubborn & getting back on. 👏👏👏
So nice of that man to walk Woody back.
I love this, thank you.😊
I hope you're okay😊but you have to fall to be a good rider😂 btw you're really sweet and pretty and so your horse!!!😊
Hi, I love your calm and sensible approach. I'm glad that you are ok. Thanks for sharing xxx
Awwww woody is adorable 🥰
Awwww, gosh, I am super glad youre both alright! And thank goodness for Woody being so great!
I admire you so much. This is a great training video. Falling is a reality. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad your both okay!
Thank you ❤️
The first fall frightened the life out of me, so no wonder you were so wobbly when you tried to get up!
Thank you for sharing your experience.
im so glad you were both ok xx
I AM GOING TO JUDGE!
Because I've been there!
You & your horse did nothing wrong. He tripped, you fell. And that sick feeling, yeah, I remember that too. I didn't have the pass out though.
Don't be embarrassed, it's good to show people that it happens to everyone, at anytime. Hope you & he recovered ok.
P.s. He was a darling, made sure to avoid standing on you too, when trying to gather himself.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness Rhi, I cried when I saw that. I didn't expect you to faint. What a superstar sharing this for all riders to see and take lessons from. I am so glad you are both ok ❤️
Hay don't feel embarrassed We've all done the same thing at some stage with our horses Sorry that you fall. looks like you and Woody come out from it fine .You turned it into a very informative educational video.
You did fine!! At least you learned something. Hope you feel better!
Thank you!
Gosh! Thank-you for sharing, I hope you’re ok and what a good boy he was!
He's a darling ☺️❤️
Love how you handled your fall! You looked at it as a learning experience! Things happen, but it’s super awesome that you learned from it!
You are incredible, so well spoken and positive. Thank you for your honesty and allowing us to learn from your experience.
You must be a very mature person for admitting this, that is a rare skill to have and we should all appreciate that. Glad to hear your ok.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I really appreciate your sharing such a delicate moment. As horse riders this has probably happened to most of us. The fact that your are willing to share and help other riders learn as well is commendable. Thank-you and good boy Woody!
Im so glad your okay!
Oh bless ya, thank you for sharing, so sorry about the extra shock of then passing out bless ya, that probably hurt more! Hope you're all good now xx
So glad you're okay and it's lovely that you're so open and honest about these things! ❤️
O girl glad you guys are ok!
Absolutely love your films! I miss my lovely treks in the beautiful English countryside. I have always find the kindness of the British people so assuring. Thank you for bringing back all those memories.
oof that looked like a wicked fall, glad your okay
We all have falls, glad you and Woody are okay, thanks for showing your ride. Ride on girl.
So glad you are both okay! Thank you for sharing, this happens to all of us that share a passion for horses! It can shake your confidence for sure. I love how you revisited the fall and broke it down. Great advice! Thank you again, you and Woody are superstars! 😍🐎
