People that do t understand that horses have different degrees of stress because of past experiences should not be working with horses…and I think you’re doing wonderful job with all your horses
I'm 62 years old now and thirty years of it all I spent with horses and teaching children equestrian. I loved my trail horses the most. Trust me, you my Clever Cowgirl are doing a wonderful job with your horses. If someone watching doesn't agree, they can go watch another channel. Horse phycology is super important in training difficult horses.
Your four-wheeler sometimes tapping the starter will help at least get you by and home I know I've done it and taught my daughter that trick and it got her home one night.
My 2 favourite things that CC has taught me: Grass has different levels of sugar depending on the time of day and horses wear glued on Crocs! So interesting!
I half leased a horse and when the owner went away on holidays, I was feeding him good quality alfalfa/mix by mistake. He was the most miserable, angry horse ever. When she returned, she asked me what I did with him as he was calm and manageable. I showed her what I was feeding him and it was-oops-someone else's hay (!). She put him back on the cheap junk and her went back to being a rotten horse. I stopped leasing him.
I can't help it! I just love Ziggy''s little fuzzy Arab face. He's not too dished out like some but just right. And then there's mr. Nigel! Oh those spots and his "Fabio face" with his hair in his eyes. Scarlet and Prim are BEAUTIFUL. But I feel so bad for Studman. He doesn't know the love of a human. He's always so tense and expecting the worst. And everyone else is all so kind of "take me as I am" kind of guys". Most of the time it's the little steps that are the most important. Thank you for taking your time with them all.
I knew she would end up loving Ziggy. Arabians have charmed me since I was a child, and I was fortunate to own two, Smoke and Sunny Dee. It was a pleasure just to watch them graze behind the house, so beautiful.

Another aspect of life with horses is the slapping versus stroking debate. Can you clarify for us how hearty pats are okay? Thank you for your entertaining and educational channel. ❤️
I've rarely seen people explain signs of stress in the horse's face, that was super interesting! ❤️ very nice to see that you give him the time that he needs to be calm ❤️
Watching Scarlett today, reminded me of my Oldest Son, when he was little around 3, if we were in a hurry he LOVED to play, "na nana na na,you can't catch me". He would get right up to me and Id go to grab onto him to put his shoes or coat on and that little booger would laugh this deep, mischievous belly laugh and JET! He would come back over close and stand there when Id move he would move just out of my reach, and take off, come back and so it again. So as I watched Scarlett, I couldnt help but giggle to my Momma self, cause I KNOW THAT FEELING! I guess it doesn't matter, human, fur, feathered, they all have moments of BIG personality, being a jokster and picking on their Mom's. I could imagine Scarlett saying to you, " na na, you cant touch meeeee " ..lol As always, EXCELLENT video! You are TRULY a joy to watch, I swear, its like Im standing there listening to a friend talk! I wiped my tears, just snuggled up in my bed and watched you and your babies while I waited on my meds to kick in, and I had a distraction for my mind, it was so peaceful listening to you talk and even a couple giggles from Ms Scarlett and her game and as you can see, meds are working quite well, (I get chatty.) I feel better and relaxed! So Thank you kindly! Thank You Again. Be Blessed!!

I hear you, friend, and I feel you. Tears serve a medical as well as emotional purpose. I'm finding them near at hand, for really no reason, last few days. [I got 'health' too] Maybe change of season, maybe unusual weather systems, maybe politics straining us all out. I do believe it will be OK in a bit. Maybe a day, a week, but we must just know that, as so many times before, over little things or big things or over nothing at all, we will be "sunny side up" in a while. We have been thru as bad a time as you/I/we/they are having before, and we will be ok again (or at least "good enough") soon. Remember, HOLIDAYS are truly the SADDEST times of the year! Fact! While you were training Scarlett that scenic background of the blue mountains, pink skies turning into purple was a majestic sight! You did a great job framing that scene…
It is beautiful isn't it? I was thinking the same thing, what a rare thing she has got to experience, she knows love and care, it's been beautiful to watch her journey and I'm so excited to watch her continue to thrive!
This is a great video contrasting Studman and Scarlet, as well as showing just how Tiny contributes to their training. I love these training videos and rewatch them sometimes to see if I can spot more in the horses on a second watch!

Some horse folks just do not "read" horses! You do, and that is a gift! Even Tiny knows that you are engaged with your animals! Always enjoyable to watch each horse and their differences and level in their training!
I was wondering how much CC actually talks vs observing and body language she uses. Almost like body language communicating with body language vs verbal.

Love Nigel's bravery to give his stamp of approval on his new tiny house! Studman is in the right hands now with you and Scarlett gets prettier every day! The red mountains in the sunset reflextion was stunning!!
I loved the way, near the end of the video after Scarlet scared herself by stepping on her lead rope, you walked up to her and she side stepped to get closer to you. Made me get misty eyed. She trusts and loves you, her gentle mom ❤
A joy to watch - thank you. Such a difference in the two horses. Thank you for taking your kind time with Studman (sending him hugs), and Scarlett of course, who I am really getting attached to. I love them all, but she is just such a joy to watch developing through all the steps of friendship with a human - you in this case. Gorgeous sunset on the mountains, in the background.

Great idea. Free Spirit Equestrian just put out a horse calender of her horses and to her surprise it sold out within days. With the beautiful backdrop of the mountains etc and the horses, a great calender could be done.
I love that you are teaching us how to recognize fear and other emotions in a horses demeanor. This is so important and probably what Studman's former trainer missed completely. I could see the difference in his face very clearly when he was stressed and when he was calm. I wouldn't have noticed without you showing it. Thank you!

I really loved this video. Thank you for going over all the signs of fear/stress the obvious and subtle signs Stewy and Scarlet have. It was so intersting to me how you were able to let them settle after being very close to reacting. Amost letting their fear get the best of them. You are really good with these horses. It seems other trainers do a lot more damage when training them leaving them with fear instead of confidence. Pushing them when a lighter touch can accomplish much more. thank you again for the education. (:
Love your channel!! I enjoy watching you engage with all your horses, Tiny and Huckleberry. Your patience, understanding and dedication should be the model for many to follow.
Very interesting to see the contrast between these two highly sensitive horses -- one having had a rough start. LOVE it when you run awkward or funny moments on high speed with cartoon music! (And that you're not shy about showing that normal and sometimes frustrating part of "life with horses.")
It's really interesting to me that when you are working with horses that have had traumatic experiences that there's parallels in working children with traumatic experiences in childhood . I never associated the expression tight lipped with the same state in children were they want to talk about their pain they just can't. It's too much . Love how you do the same thing with your horses just letting Studman be until the stress dissipated. Interestingly this young person, when riding ,was at age . most sensitive rider . The process of riding helped him, too . Thanks for the masterclass . No wonder so many of us feel so relaxed watching your video .
Beautiful horses...Beautiful scenery....loved the last shots of Scarlet in the roundpen with the mountains silhouetted against the setting sun and the geese flying overhead ...sheer bliss...💜🐎
❤BOY......THE MOUNTAINS & THE HORSES BOTH LOOK FANTASTIC! Studman, Whiplash & Stewie , even though they are not tall are built like "Sherman Tanks"......nice neck & shoulder, great chest & haunches.......PERFECT FOR WORKING CATTLE!! (if only younger & better feet & legs). Conformation & Condition are A++❤. So glad to see Nigel enjoying his new shed.......getting it broken before the cold weather & snow starts! Pete says, "No Way Jose" for being worked with today, oh well. Goose looks absolutely gorgeous......plump, shiny & happy! Prim, Frisco Bill & Ziggy look happy too. I think maybe they are happy about the alfalfa hay - their favorite! Thanks for the updates and GOD BLESS.......😊❤😮❤😊
It takes a lot of time and patience to wait out Studman's fears til he's calm. People want instant results and it creates the false calm you were talking about. Enjoyed watching you take time with him. I hope one day he can overcome his fear and trust your intentions. Poor guy.
I was always told that when you are working your horse, you shouldn’t wear sunglasses. They like to see your eyes, and will connect with you better. Not a criticism, I love your videos and have learned a lot.
Studman is so handsome, even with his extra winter weight on. So glad to see you work him and that he benefits from the extra attention and exercise. I see he's huffing and puffing. I know dogs pant when stressed and wondering if the same is true for horses? Again, they all get better with regular attention. He's a real sweetie. Thank you for sharing him today! Love Scarlet!
This is great! I love how you show the clear contrast between Scarlett and Studman; the difference between a horse that's just naturally very reactive, vs. one that is actually reacting to past trauma that still has to be worked through.
26:28 You shouldn’t have to justify your excellent work ethic around horses. The gentle, respectful training you do with your beloved horses is what people should be aspiring to and will pay off long term. Reactive horses like that need the time and space. No one knows what happened to him. Trauma takes time to heal in all creatures
He is so hyper-aware, that was so good to see how you work him through his stress, and show us what you look for. I cant believe how much sense you are making, CC! 💖💖 Ps when you told Tiny she was gross, she clearly replied 'pretty' 💖💖😂
Interesting and fun as usual! Your camera and editing skills are really getting good. The geese honking over in front of those beautiful mountains was the perfect ending. Thank you. 🙏🕊️♥️
I have to say that I really enjoy the combination of voice over and hearing you chatting to the animals in your vids. The way that Stewie came running up from way back there when you called out was so cute🥰🐎😍edited to say that I loved the shot with the geese honking in a flock above you and Scarlett with the mountains in the background☺️
Another great video! Scarlett is starting to look so good. It is amazing what good training with understanding and care can do for a wild horse. With your compassionate training I hope Studman can come around eventually and learn to regulate his fear. Those mountains in the distance are magnificent! What a lovely part of the country! Poor Frisco, his love life is so complicated.
It was cool to see Studman's fears eventually subside and his face relax. Will he ever be rideable? Tiny is quite the character kitty. Love all your beautiful animals. I had a giggle over your haltering routine with Scarlet--lol!
I’m getting nowhere fast; I keep having to rewind to watch each gorgeous moment! Stewy & Whiplash together, doing the nose dance…..beautiful day; and I love your music!
We had a 4 wheeler just like yours and it got to where we had to push start it. That required running down the street, popping the clutch, and she goes! Worked every time.
You are the horse whisperer of today. You should hire yourself out as a horse therapist, showing people where the problem with the horse can be mitigated by how they are treated. Really enjoyed this video.
So many great moments in this video. The Studman and Scarlett comparison was very interesting: amazing that the younger, wilder horse was able to assess and self-regulate much quicker than the older, more “experienced” horse (makes me sad for Studman). I appreciated you pointing out the tension in his eyes, brows and mouth - I saw a lot more with your eyes. The music with you trying to halter the reluctant Scarlett made it very comical along with it sped up made me laugh and smile. Thank you for your expert care and training of these horses and your evolving videography :)

Sun shining. . . Nigel is in his bespoke dome of happiness. Snowstorm. . . FUGGEDABOUTIT!! 😂😂😂
Your background music is always so peaceful. Love it!
Love it when they come when called!
Whatever it is that you do, you do it well. The horses are absolutely beautiful. Awesome demeanors.
Ya, Stewie is just fine by himself until mommy calls. Then it's pedal to the metal to get some scratches and love! :)
Very interesting to see the contrast between these two highly sensitive horses -- one having had a rough start. LOVE it when you run awkward or funny moments on high speed with cartoon music! (And that you're not shy about showing that normal and sometimes frustrating part of "life with horses.")
I love how you have the gift to read your horses❤
As a human with anxiety, I can relate Studman. It's okay, buddy
Hugs to Studman
I'm so impressed with your giving each horse a solid foundation by taking into consideration their individual personalities and needs!
Thanks for the updates and GOD BLESS.......😊❤😮❤😊
yes, more training type videos, lots of commentary on body language, please 🙂
Studman. Mr. Pucker lip goes limp😂
Scarlett is THAT girl with her halter😂
Nigel the mud puppy us still a mud puppy 😂
The rest are earing popcorn 🍿 😂
Hey from central NC.
Not ridiculous, who knows what he's been through. You are helping him work it out. Love that about your methods ❤️
Your are doing right by Stud man your assessment of what he needs is spot on !
I love it when he comes running when you call him 💕
Texas here!! Loving ALL your vids!
Calm, wholesome, peaceful. Thank you for your videos. They are a much needed grounding in these times.
This channel is exploding!!
💥 ❤
He is so hyper-aware, that was so good to see how you work him through his stress, and show us what you look for. I cant believe how much sense you are making, CC! 💖💖
Ps when you told Tiny she was gross, she clearly replied 'pretty' 💖💖😂
I had a horse that did that breath holding thing. Great job have a great day
I love seeing you work the horses in such a gentle way
Interesting and fun as usual!
I love this video of her working for you ❤️ 💕 💗. She is smart
Thank you so much for the horse education! You do a great job with your explanations. I could absolutely see the change in Studman’s level of anxiety!
I’m getting nowhere fast; I keep having to rewind to watch each gorgeous moment! Stewy & Whiplash together, doing the nose dance…..beautiful day; and I love your music!
Thanks! Hope you can get your gator soon! You deserve a helping hand!
Thank you!
I am glad to see you working the horses!
I’m glad that King Nigel has deigned to try his new shed❤
Amazing,knowledgeable, training👍
I especially love Ziggy! Thanks for sharing.💜😊💜
