Without a doubt the most unique AC/DC song to me. The slow, bluesy feel to it with Bon’s lyrics and vocals make me think he’s talking about himself. Rip Bon, ride on.

    RIP, Bon Scott.
I fell in love with AC/DC back when I was 14 and screaming "I GOT BIG BALLS!" around the house, and Mom went crazy. It was this album that did it for me. EVERY song on "Dirty Deeds" was a hit to me. It solidified AC/DC. It put them on top and they've never looked back.
    Ride on.
    And just keep riding.

Ha! I was in 4th grade when that song came out and I would play the tape over n over. My dad was a songwriter, and heard what I didn’t ….amd decades later he would always say that of all the band I liked this was one the one he hated. With age, I’ve realized it freaked him out to have his 9yo daughter rock out to a song about big balls…🤣🤣🤣🤣🫣

@@audreym3777 The whole album, except for "Ride On", is pretty raunchy, if I'm honest. "Squealer" (She said she'd never been balled before / and i don't think she'll ever ball no more) especially was a little risque, so I hid it from my mom and sang, "Never had BOWLED before" so it was more of a bowling date. 😂🤣😂🤣 AC/DC is the kind of rock band you listen to and want to cringe to the lyrics, but the music is so damned GOOD. :D

Angus is one of the finest blues guitarists ever and he's rarely acknowledged as a blues guitarist. Sure, everyone knows AC/DC is a blues-based rock n roll band, but damn Angus has a talent for putting soul into his solos. They always compliment the song and they're not just an exercise in self-indulgence like a Van Halen solo. I bet Stevie Ray Vaughan himself would've appreciated this song.

Angus is brilliant. He said they made the same album.. however many times. Do what you are best at and make it better. You never hear AC/DC and say .. who is that? What kind of music is it? AC/DC .. What genre? AC/DC .. Simple and precise .. Still miss Bon but Brian filled in well. They all knew each other and the band has been in good hands even while Axl Rose joined in for a bit .. Amazing how life goes along .. "Ride On" ...

    It's another lonely evening
    And another lonely town
But I ain't too young to worry
And I ain't too old to cry
When a woman gets me down
    Got another empty bottle
    And another empty bed
Ain't too young to admit it
And I'm not too old to lie
    I'm just another empty head
    That's why I'm lonely
    I'm so lonely
But I know what I'm gonna do
    I'm gonna ride on
    Ride on
Ride on, standing on the edge of the road
Ride on, thumb in the air
Ride on, one of these days I'm gonna
Ride on, change my evil ways
Till then I'll just keep dragging on
    Broke another promise
    And I broke another heart
But I ain't too young to realize
That I ain't too old to try
Try to get back to the start
And it's another red light nightmare
    Another red light street
And I ain't too old to hurry
Cause I ain't too old to die
But I sure am hard to beat
    But I'm lonely
    Lord I'm lonely
    What am I gonna do
    Ride on
Ride on, got myself a one-way ticket
    Ride on
Ride on, going the wrong way
Ride on, gonna change my evil ways
Ride on, one of these days
    One of these days
    Ride on

The way Angus dials down at 1.54 is so beautiful, coupled with Bon's excruciating, painful and glorious rendition is perfect. I wish AC/DC had done more ballads. Who knows what we would have heard?

And hit us harder than a bullet ...timeless and a wonderment of an age passed .... of musicians standing strong with nothing but booze, babes, drugs , and a hole lot of love from us hearing what's being sent and the love to send it .. , representing what he wanted to do..in life ...total respect BON .. no questions asked just sent it as he saw it heard it ... . where are the men like this today in music hey... Bon Scott was one of a kind! I still miss him. This song is a testament of his great songwriter capabilities. I feel blessed that I watched him live twice, once with AC/DC as the opening act for Rainbow and a few years later as the headliner with Judas Priest as the opening act. What a great time.

There are still dudes who send it vocally, just not in the huge pop acts. All of these poseurs today sing through so much electronic processing that they sound like robots, and many don't sing, they just yell dumb sounding spoken words. The really sad part is that a certain demographic eats it right up as being great music! Barf!
Bon Scott was a man apart, and a perfect fit with his band mates. These guys had chemistry, and Angus!

Highway To Hell talked about the life of a legendary rockstar on the road touring whereas ride on poetically and beautifully talks about how being on the road touring has effected the legendary rockstar's that's singing life. Ride on is a prime example of why Bon Scott is my idol because when he's singing I feel every word he's singing and I fell his pain and it makes me cry a little. No other singer has made me feel their emotions through their music other than Bon Scott and that's why he's my favorite frontman of all-time and the greatest frontman in rock history.
