    I'm a young man from another country, your videos are very sincere. As you said in the video, I teach someone who knows less than me, and I learn from someone who knows more. What you said was very nice. It is nice to see people who know that knowledge increases as they share. I hope you will be very successful and happy.

      @johnny06488…. What a refreshingly positive comment you made here. I’d say, for a young man you show a great deal of wisdom and grace. And we all could certainly stand to learn from and emulate that. Blessings to you, sir from Indiana USA.

    Great video, man! I appreciate a lot of what you said. I've been saved for a little over six years now. This week has been a very trying week for myself and my family and I was not taking it so well. Your words really meant a lot to me. Thanks! God bless!

    Greetings , It looks to me like you're on the right path , some good equipment and your head and heart are in the right place . I would give 1 caution though , try to avoid breaking limbs on your knee as you were , that being your patella it can pop and trying to walk even a short distance becomes very difficult . A fork in a tree or use your saw is much safer , not trying to be a safety Sally , just speaking from experience . Otherwise...thanks for your kind words of faith and stay on your path , it's a good path !

    Growing up in the city I was fortunate to have a father who always took us outdoors every 4 to 6 weeks, and travel to other countries- thankful my dad made me rough it out on the outdoors. He was a veteran who grew up very poor and served in Vietnam. One ice chest, one blanket, just the grill alone not the whole setup, one knife, some water, all season salt, one extra pair of clothing and we were gone!

    I'm a big fan of the Campcraft products as well. I also like to camp with a minimun setup. I try to fit every thing in my haversack and bed roll. Bedroll is larger than I would like at this point.

    Who did you say that poncho was from? I'm not finding anything googling what I think I'm hearing from ya (Opossum Gear?). Looks sweet. Good video, subbed.

      Hey! It’s an older piece of kit. Not sure if he makes them anymore but the company is called opossum pouch soft goods. If you search that you should find it. Thank so much for stopping by. God bless

      I looked too. I don’t see them offered on their site. Would you consider Bushcraft Spains oil cloth poncho comparable? Great video by the way. I love bedrolls and haversacks!

    • @jds0406
      @jds0406 5 місяців тому

      @@deaconfaith Hey, just letting you know that in lieu of Opossum's offering, I shopped around and went with the oilcloth poncho from Coalcracker Bushcraft. It just arrived today. Idk how it compares to the Opossum one obviously, but overall quality seems great. It's roughly the dimensions of civilian market military-style ponchos like Helikon-Tex. Seems like it would be suitable for pretty much anything you would use a military poncho for. One caveat is that only the corners have grommets for tie outs, if you would ever want to use it for shelter. Not a problem for plough-points or lean-to's (my go-to's), but other configurations might need to be supplemented with tie out clips.
      Since I have a problem with "collecting" different ponchos (just ask my wife), I will eventually be getting Bushcraft Spain's as well. It seems like a direct upgrade from Coalcracker's just based on specs and brand reputation.

    • @deaconfaith
      @deaconfaith 5 місяців тому

      @@jds0406 thank you for the suggestion! I believe the bushcraft Spain is a bit bigger is why I would probably go with that one. Coalcracker has nice tarps and I’m sure the poncho is nice as well. Let us know how yours does and how you like it as a shelter and bedroll setup.
