Firoza Begum was one of the best singers of Nazrulgeeti. She had an awesome voice who used to sing the lyrics with utmost passion that differentiated her from any other singers of this genre melodies. She was one of the favourite students of the legendary poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam. And most importantly, it would be unfair to compare Firoza Begum with other renowned singers of different genres music. Though I listen to numerous genres of music from around the world, but Nazrulgeeti and Firoza Begum became an integral part of our family among others from childhood. My late parents were very fond of Firoza Begum. R.I.P.
i was born in Kolkata and i left Kolkata at the age of 21, i have never heard of Feroza Begum may be some Indians know about it, but i was fond of Kanan Devi. Geeta Dutta , Mohd.Rafi ,Talat Mahmood and Mukesh, although I know about Nazrul Islam abut i was more towards Rabindra Nath Tagore, every body knows about Tagore through out the worlds, so i can not give any comment about that singer Feroza Begum.
