- On the 15th anniversary of its launch, this documentary follows Father Ted creators Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews as they return to Craggy Island on a road trip across Ireland, taking them back to some of the key filming locations from the series.
Father Ted captured a specific Irish humour rarely seen on screen and its impact doesn't seem to have faded. The show is revealed as a product of a pair of ambitious writers, a brilliant cast and the gently confident producer Geoffrey Perkins, whose suggestion of turning a one-off mock documentary into a sitcom helped make it the much-loved show it is today.
Ardal O'Hanlon, Frank Kelly, Graham Norton and many others pitch in with their reminiscences of the show, the passion it inspired and their memories of the late, great Dermot Morgan.
RIP Dermot and Frank, comedy genius at its finest. Thank you for the laughs guys.
The small, far away joke was featured in one of my philosophy lectures last year. All the love for Father Ted and R.I.P Dermot Morgan.
There is something about these characters so humbled and effortless. It is magic.
So hilarious to see the young girl in front of the two brilliant writers of the show saying "I don't watch it I don't get it " and when the writers were outside Graham Linehan said that he had just ignored her comment, that actually felt like a new line from The show, brilliant.
The bit on the inclusion of women felt similar
Been there, done that, did a video of my wife and I singing 'My Lovely Horse.' There were 2 cars there as we approached, and 2 more showed up as we set up the camera and I de-tuned my guitar. It reminded me of the crossing at 'Abbey Road.' I can't imagine people showing up all day, every day, as weather permits, to stand about in front of my place to have their pictures taken. Next year, we'll make an appointment for tea.

OMG!! How can that little girl not like Father Ted... my daughter loved it from when she first saw it.. Aged 9!!
Its so sad he died he had a great future in comedy and acting but its great he left a legacy.

I'm an American but when I heard him mention The Young Ones, The Blackadder, and Fawlty Towers along with Father Ted I thought, WOW, that's at least 1 hour and 12 minutes of great comedy! Your pushing 2 hours if you add Monty Python and The Comic Strip!
steve Humphrey Because a classic British comedy doesn't need 24 episodes a season and a decade long contract to maybe be funny. It is funny right from the off.
