There's definitely important data missing from this simulation. The biggest issue is that there's clearly no accounting for terrain, which played a big role historically in Nagasaki not suffering as much damage as intended because the bomb was off target and parts of the city were shielded by hills. Similarly, Echo Park and Griffith Park will do a LOT of shielding - even the downtown hills might blunt some of the effect on Central LA. And of course, tons of other factors like what side of a building you're on, what kind of building, and so on. The Page Museum is a good place to be. Hollywood and Burbank will be almost unscathed from a downtown strike.
did i miss where the yield of the weapon was mentions? the Soviet Union had missiles with one large 25mt warhead (they had trouble making the fission trigger, so one large warhead was easier than a missile with lots of smaller ones) now that problem seems solved and when i check Russia now has missiles with 6 or more warheads, that are much smaller (100-200KT) for the stated radius of the fireball, the warhead is about 8-9 mt
