what a wonderful painting..amazing work on light and shadows ..hi.. i am a beginner...i want to ask you that you make first sketch ...did you apply gesso ...can arcylic painting be done on sketchbook 150 gsm ...i have one and it's give impression on back what shoud i do?? please help ...thank u ..😍😍

gesso can be used to prime the canvas before the sketch and yes, acrylic painting can be done on sketchbook.. you should use thicker paper so that you wont get an impression.

Why do you paint shades of grey first then paint blue on top ? Why not just paint blue to start with ? Genuine learner question .

You can quickly establish values in grayscale. Then, you add color over the top to match the subject. Just another method that offers a lot of layering, which can add depth. Probably other reasons too, but that's why I do it.

Painterly is a term.used to say that an item is made to looked painted instead of realistic or like a photo.
