Team weren't seriously game planning and focused on Poole in 2022. After the championship when pressure and expectations picked up, Poole regressed and couldn't adapt.

    • @ItIsYouAreNotYour

WHEN teams started game planning for him, he couldn't play. It's a typical pro sports story. Someone has an insane year, and the following year they fall. Because teams are taking him seriously now. He no longer has Steph and Klay drawing the whole team for him, which is why he was atrocious off the bench.

    • @dwhitemyman

He lost faith in the organization on how they handled the Draymond issue. That's why he started playing more for himself. Doesn't make it right, but that's my opinion. The Warriors are still suffering from that punch. I think the other teammates for the most part are tuning him out. One of Draymonds job is to motivate. Wiggins seems on motivated when he plays. Sure, much of this is Wiggins fault. You shouldn't need someone to motivated you, but some people do, to keep them locked in night and night out. Draymond has not done his job in that department. Jordan had to go because if you don't trust the team and the organization, you can't stay. I hope he gets back on track. He's probably getting in his own head instead of just playing.

It's easier to look really good when you're paired next to two all-time great scorers. Teams planned mostly for Steph and Klay, even post-injury, is a very strong distraction as well. Add into that Wiggins and the fact that Poole came off the bench a fair amount and you have a recipe to look really good. The difference is that in Washington, teams are game-planning for him and he's seeing top defenders more often. Combine that with a bit of resting on his laurels and it's a recipe for regression.

“Essentially everything that needed to be done in Golden State got done. I got a ring. Made sure my family is straight. A good situation to come in [to Washington] and just kind of have my own team, play my own type of basketball.” - Jordan Poole during the Wizards media day.
Pretty much says it ALL. Dude got a chip and got paid so now he's just going out there and clowning around. And the Wizards are probably encouraging him, because they're in the basement of the league, tanking for a draft pick. They don't care if he plays losing basketball, hell his game is just flashy enough that people might still buy tickets. Poole probably isn't going to get another contract after this, maybe he'll play in Taiwan or Guangdong or something, or maybe he'll just retire. When his contract is up in 2027, dude will be 28 years old, with 140M in the bank and a championship ring. Dude's probably just gonna move on and feel like he doesn't have to accomplish anything else.

Honestly he's not wrong though. Set for life after 3 years in the league and he's like what, 25 now. That kind of money changes most people and only the most obsessed players, like Kobe, can overlook that and keep working hard. I'm not saying that's a good thing but it's reality when 20 something years olds are given more money than like 90% of people make in their life time.

Literally 24 & already has a ring he greatly contributed to. He hasn’t even played a MONTH with his new team, how can you call the szn a disappointment? Dame even had a less than ideal start with the Bucks. People don’t truly realize what a major adjustment going from GSW, a championship mentality contender, to DC, a bottom tier rebuilding team with no vision, is. The media has constantly flamed this man and attacks him whenever they get the chance. He plays well, he is called a selfish player, he plays bad, he is vilified 🤷🏽‍♀️ Y’all need to cut him some slack, stop blowing things wildly out of proportion! What, your claims for his supposed “ego” are taking a random 5-second clip with no context/audio & accusing him of every possible thing in the book? That's all invalid when Stephen Curry literally called the claims of his attitude change post bag “absolute B.S,” and said he was so upset to see the narrative flipped on him, saying he has been nothing but great and did nothing to warrant the situation. I am taking Stephs word over the media's anyday! Steph, Klay, Iggy, and Coach Kerr all defended JP, his character, and work ethic. That speaks volumes. The Draymond incident obv affected him more than we all thought, which is totally understandable, hes been through a lot. Of course, you failed to provide any context behind the 🎒 statement. Gilbert Arenas released the WHOLE story per GSW players. The story LITERALLY PROVED JP did nothing to warrant the situation and Gil reiterated that! And then the way the franchise dealt with the situation after? Just like how they did KD? The mental effect that must have on a 22 year old is dangerous. Damn, are people brutal, and do they switch up quick. Wishing him all the success and can’t wait till he proves the haters wrong, as he has done before 🗣️ The media doesn't realize how easily they destroy these young, talented people. Please be softer in your approach and critique of others.

The contract was because gsw expected him to at least be the same, if not better.
And in his defense, I mean, id choose to leave too if my coworker assaulted me and 100% got away with it

His ego grew way too much. You can see that on the court and off the court.
He takes shots he shouldn't take, and overall acts like he's the best player on the court, at the expense of his team and teammates.
I guess winning a championship helped making him that way, and getting paid.

As much as Jordan pool destroyed his career, the warriors destroyed their chances. In getting another ring... Regardless what anybody says jordan pool is an excellent player... And I guarantee you in the end. Somebody's gonna try to bring this guy back to the warriors... Because right now they chose to stick it out with draymond Green and nothing good is happening....

The guy literally had a good guy and a villain story arc within a span of a few years. Those numbers are nice but do remember he played with Steph Curry drawing a ridiculous amount of defensive attention.
He wanted to be "The Man" of a team and now he is that with the Wizards, it's not as prosperous. You no longer have the luxury of Curry drawing away the defense and teams can now focus more on Poole. Being a star and face of a franchise in a professional sports team isn't easy because teams will give you due attention.
Did Poole ruin things for himself? Yes. Does he care about it? I don't think so, he got his payday. Can he learn and recover from this? He's 24 years old. It's *possible* he can realize what's going on and be a man and change his ways. But I doubt it. Arrogance makes a person too proud to admit to himself he screwed up and change for the better.

both wizards and gsw took a loss, the problem with jp is he got used to warriors's system thats why hes been struggling and for the warriors they been horrible lately no one can score 20 or more points other than curry, the reason i said that both of 'em took a lost is the wizards doesnt know how to use jp like kerr did when he was still with warriors and the warriors traded jp their scorer off the bench and now they got no one to score when curry is hurt or when hes not playing good, but i know both teams will figure it out HOPEFULLY.

Warriors can't seem to catch a break. Aside from Steph, Dray and Klay. They draft or trade for talented guys but they are too emotionally soft. Their not so talented guys are the ones with heart. Meanwhile you see other teams pick up young talented guys with a lot of heart year after year.

Look at what happened to Jah Morant who's the same age, ...and why are we even mentioning their age, people twice as old win the Lotto and fall apart. I'm a Warrior fan and he looked like the real deal when got that extension.

Draymond's hit tore apart his confidence. I believe GSW made another huge mistake, not trading Pool or Draymond after that. Both declined in their form since then, and their value was the lowest this year. the same mistake as with Wiseman. Or do you support 100% or trade right away. In my opinion, they should trade him (Poole) when his value is high. Also, Draymond is way more overrated, a good center such as Sabonis with somebody like Auser Thompson will do the job.
