About SIREN:
“Siren” takes us inside Bristol Cove-a coastal town known for its legend of once being home to mermaids. When the arrival of a mysterious girl proves this folklore all too true, the battle between man and sea takes a very vicious turn as these predatory beings return to reclaim their right to the ocean. The series stars Alex Roe (“The 5th Wave”) as Ben, a bright marine biologist who finds himself drawn to a mysterious new girl in town, Ryn, played by Eline Powell (“Game of Thrones”), who is a strange young woman with a deep dark secret. I think one of my favorite parts in this scene is when Eline drops her shoulders at 1:48, as if she let out an actual breath in the water. Just makes it all the more convincing that Ryn and her people are real 😵

That is exactly what is happening here. That song screws with his head. He can't help it and Ryn didn't know this effect of her song either. I hope he snapped out of it again soon. It's becomming more and more obsessive. I don't like it..

Ben didn't want sweet Ryn to get hurt. I would've done the same. Ryn still did beat Katrina at her weakest point. Though he still could've let them do their own thing at the same time.
I would not have intervened if I were in Bens shoes, period. If someone he suposedly loves so much explicetely asks you to NOT intervene, you should not intervene. That is much braver and showing love to someone if you respect their wishes than to intervene. Ryn beat her before, they both went into the water so the skin issue stopped then and there so she could do it again. It also is survival of the fittest, honor and an important ritual for Ryns animal-side. Ben should have trusted her judgement. I'm sorry to pook the love bubble for you and many other Ben x Ryn shippers but this specific scene, only makes me go more to the obsession than true love for Ryn by the siren song.. If it was love, he should have respected his beloved persons wishes.. But that's just my rational reasoning and opinion :)

I think Ben and Ryn already love each other and have that “Great Destiny/Love” connection that their ancestors had. I don’t necessarily think Ben’s actions were completely compelled by the song, I just think he couldn’t bear to stand there helpless and do nothing while he perceived her life to be in danger or risk of injury. I think Ben’s “instinct” is to protect those he loves, no matter how foolish or dangerous it might seem.

Edwin Garcia I have a feeling that Maddie either heard Ryn’s song, or was still effected by it regardless. I know that there is a lot of speculation that there will be some sort of romantic interaction with all three of them very soon(which I am neutral to), but I don’t think that is going to last. Eventually everyone is going to sort their feelings out, whether they are romantic, or platonic.
I’m not sure if Maddie is going to become more of a stereotypical jealous ex girlfriend who wants Ben back, or maybe she wants Ryn, or both(?) I do feel like Maddie is eventually going to be headed for disappointment eventually though, and probably other not so pleasant side effects of the siren song, which sucks because she really deserves to be happy. I’m hoping she’ll eventually end up with Levi 💕, rather than sourpuss Xander.

Edwin Garcia Levi is the bald merman 🧜♂️ who killed Xander’s father, but otherwise seems like a likable guy. He was just protecting his home and family.
I agree that Ryn and Maddie love each other as sisters. I’m hopeful that whatever the three of them do together will help them all sort out their feelings for one another. Ryn is probably going to have to learn about romantic love through Ben and Maddie before she can engage in it herself with Ben. But I see all signs pointing towards Ben and Ryn. Here are my observations and analysis:
After the tank fight, Ben went outside to the dock to clear his head. The scene then shows Maddie and Ryn come outside. Ben is on the right, Ryn on the left, and Maddie in between them in the middle. I’d like to think this was deliberate perhaps? Despite Maddie being closer, Ben seems to look past Maddie and at Ryn, and then apologizes.
Then later on when Ben’s outside while Maddie records Ryn’s song, he is absolutely morose. Then they come out and Ben lights up like a Christmas tree. He speaks to them both but seems to focus on Ryn. Once again Maddie stands in between them. Then Ryn leaves, and it’s just Ben and Maddie, Ben’s expression has again turned somber and troubled.
Then finally the scene early on at the cabin, who Ben and Ryn both stare at each other from opposite ends of the room. This time the pile of sleeping merpeople are between them.
I might simply be seeing what I want to see(lol), but I think these are examples of how they’re both drawn to one other, despite other circumstances and people coming between them at the moment.
"Great love to a some", I think he was in love with her from day one. The song just amplified it, remember what his mother said the maddie is season one
It's sad because I really like the concept of the sirens but I cannot, for the life of me, like Ben...
Ryn smacked the hell out of her!! But she deserved it :) and Honestly Ben was never gonna stay out of the fight if it happened. He feels too much for Ryn to not get involved despite her warning him to stay out of it
Ben should've stayed out of it and let them fight those type of mermaids are no joke when it comes to them fighting or rivalries.

Ok, for some believe Ben and Ryn already like/love each other, that it has nothing to do with being compelled or obsession about the song in his head.
I know some of u want to see it that way. But u gotta put that aside and look it this way. What IF its the song that got him that way, we all know someone who hears the song can become love or obsession.
If they somehow remove the song and he got a clear mind as to who he loves, it's clear who he will choose.
Right now he is in a state of mind all he wants is to hear the song. Example at the end of the episode, his reaction says it all
I'm also thinking of what Helen said according to legends, great love to some or a euphemism for obsession. Judging from how Ben has been acting, I think it's more obsession then true love.. If you truely love someone, you'd let them fight their own battles and just offer support, not intervene. But that's just my way of looking at it from a rational point of view :)
I too want to see him clear his mind and see how he act, THEN I'll look at it another time and change my mind IF I see enough 'proof'. But I'm not seeing romantic love her at the moment..

But then the last scene of the episode proved to me he is obsessed with the song he went a bit crazy wanting to hear it.

They should eject Katrina from the group and leave her on her own if she can't get a hold of herself. If she wants to do something crazy and end up on the receiving end of a nationwide manhunt, she should do it by herself. Ben, Maddie, and Ryn are trying to make change and understanding happen for their sake and for the sake of well intentioned humans that could be powerful advocates and protectors for sirens and their world. She's gonna end up bringing a horribly one sided armed conflict on everybody and making things very bad for the rest of them if she goes after innocent humans that had nothing to do with those involved in donna's ordeal.
I love how Katrina and Ryn both transform (into mermaid forms) the way they're fighting, and Ryn stabs Katrina with her fin sword. Is Katrina dead or just injured?

the fight was so short i was like yes girl get it but then ben intervene but i was more in awwe everytime ben jumps out with nothing just his life and heart, for ryn to save is the best of all in this series and ill keep going with this series for that,tho im beggining to like how rin in action and have fight scenes the show is more cooler with that, maybe add some other group of mermaid in land being terretorial and all and more fight scene in water its just so cool and whats it makes so different in other mermaid movie.
I guess that explains why sirens have those spikes on their tails and bodies

Ben should have not interfered there was nothing he could have done. I understand Ben is hooked on the song if that the reason he did what he did, but Ryn said it was her fight. Ben can't always fight Ryn's battles.

i'm secretly hoping that the woman who owns the mermaid shop is ryn's mother and ben's father is ryn's father. that's why he paid her that secret money. ben's father thinks that the woman of the shop got rid of her baby. but because she was already part mermaid and gave birth to ryn underwater. ryn became a full mermaid. so ryn and ben couldn't have an affair because they are brother and sister. that's why the attraction is so strong between them. that opens the door for ben to get back with his girlfriend
