Seeing "UPDATE" when I launched vMix was exciting! I have been creating borders using GT Designer. Import them as PNG with no issues. I do appreciate the many updates they've done. Thanks for the video. It surely helped to identify the many changes made.
Great stuff! Q: If you're using a calls machine and bringing callers over to your main mixing machine via NDI. Is there a way to still use the disconnect/connect trigger on the main machine despite the input is now NDI instead of a vMix call?
Valid question. Only way that I can think of at the moment is to use my rtp mini trick. On call disconnect, momentarily overlay a transparent input. on that trans input, have an activator that sends a midi command to the other vmix machine to run a shortcut to enable the image overlay.
Around the 6:35 mark, what software are you using? Thanks so much for this vid, I love my workflow and the call disconnect trigger is something I have wanted for a while. Martin sandbagged me with it's just a replay update! LOL!
Thank you for the video this is absolutely great. I do have a question. When you mention that Vmix crashes because of NDI can you explain what the crash looks like? For instance I have had my vMix crash on me a few times and I cannot figure out why. When it crashed on me it closed down vmix instantly. Is this the same crash experience that you perhaps have experienced?
We had the same experience. We are using BirdDog Mini NDI converters and before converter firmware version 3.4/3.6, they used to send corrupted/partial frame when HDMI cable was disconnected or so.. And when converter sent this partial frame, NDI Tools (NDI Studio Monitor and even vMix crashed immediately - program was closed). BirdDog fixed this issue in 3.4/3.6 firmware and now it's rock solid. But yes, this FEIM option would help us in a number of events back then. :D
That’s exactly what happened to us in a show. It turned out that a MacBook running Desktop Capture had a fault and would either stop Desktop Capture from running on it or crash our vMix machine that it was connected to over NDI. It took a while to find the issue, which we did by systematically adding and removing inputs until the fault reproduced. This was tricky, as sometimes the MacBook would close Desktop Capture and vMix carried on just fine. We will absolutely be turning on this new feature for every NDI input!

Thanks for the awesome videos, very helpful
Excellent video Jon, many thanks indeed. Will be updating this weekend.
Much appreciate your videos Jon. Thanks
Some night time watching with a cuppa tea tonight
Great Video, the borders feature is going to save a whole lot of time pre programming shows
Thanks for this. Very helpful👍
for a full circle border you need to crop your layer to a 1:1 aspect ratio
Yeh, released that as soon as I finished. Restricted to the aspect ration of the input :)
Tnx for your video. at 5:44 How did you crop between 3 sides with effect?
Awesome! Love your videos!
Great video.. Do you mind sharing your system I am in search to upgrade mines thanks!
Thank you!
Keep doing this!
Great stuff!

Which control surface do you use?
Any thoughts on the Skaarhoj air fly pro?
Currently use stream decks, though have used xkeys. Used to pro surfaces and have an air fly pro on order :)
What represent a yellow cube with two different times?

That sounds like it. I have not experienced it myself, but its documented by vmix.
