I don’t think you’re asking too much if something feels wrong with the baby you should absolutely have the right to walk in and be seen. Idk what state your in but in NYC (at least under my insurance) you can be seen as soon as you feel you need to and I’m not sure but I heard that if you pay for insurance the state will give you free insurance for the duration of your pregnancy and childbirth so that you don’t have to worry if you need to be rushed to the ER
I also think that as someone who has had 2 miscarriages your file should label you as having a “high risk” pregnancy and that should absolutely allow you extra precautions and visits to make sure both you and baby are safe
As I’m sure you’re aware, it’s very common for first time mothers to miscarry before producing a viable embryo. (My mom had a pretty bad one before she got me.) As a disabled person, I understand that the medical system can be frustrating and expensive, but prenatal care is a drop in the bucket of raising an entire person. Please be honest with yourself about whether you’re at a stable enough place (finances, lifestyle) to be doing so right now? What’s the rush?
As I said, this is my 5th pregnancy. I don’t find that to be the most logical thought. One, I had two sisters with special needs who had to fight the medical system every step of the way… proving it’s the thing that’s broken. Two, I’m already pregnant, it’s not a question of whether it’s time to start trying.
