    Thanks for watching. This cheap Weedeater brand blower stopped working while being used and unfortunately it wouldn't start again. The problem was not good news which requires us to disassemble most of the blower.

    I love the Weedeater Featherlite blowers and trimmers because they're so light. They don't seem to make them anymore. It's usually the carburetor and fuel lines that causes problems. With the curved shaft trimmers, the bushing at the trimmer head gets hot and the engine stalls.

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE

      that makes sense and yes, I like them for how light they are as well.

    I think that to determine if something isn't worth fixing it depends on the situation. I have an industrial vanguard v twin that had several problems and was going to cost about 2k to fix. A brand new engine cost about $1500. To most it would make more sense to replace it but the new one would take a week to get there and I would lose about 2k a day in revenue. So it was worth just fixing the problem. Not everyone is making $ tho.

    Awesome fix. If it’s something as simple as a part swap that’s fairly cheap I think it’s worth fixing. If the part cost more than the whole engine than not worth it.

      @Ashurii Im not sure where you are buying your coils but they sell decent coils on amazon for less than $20. As far as labor im not adding a labor cost bc i would try and fix the issue myself since thats kind of the point of the videos is to help people tear apart and fix the issue them self. $20 dollar fix well worth the time rather than spending $200 on a new blower. for a home owner that mows once a week i would spend the $20.

    Coil replacement repairs can be costly. they may be worth it if the equipment is relatively expensive or over 120 new otherwise depending on the price of the coil not sure if it's worth it. i did replace one on troy-bilt just for heck of it.I've noticed they seem to burn out more frequent on key start / drill start equipment.

    Everything is worth repairing in my book as that has been my life's journey in another scope but being I have been using battery operated lawn equipment with exception to the lawn mower for years. I think most even professionals are moving past gas powered devices. If it was in front of me I would repair it; maybe not for it's worth but for the fun of it. 🌐

    Omg thank god I found this video, I have a sears best craftsman blower same design as this one. Unfortunately when I got into tinkering I broke then compression ring and ruined it I place a new ring but now it doesn’t run. I’ve tried everything, it turns over but unfortunately pull rope spring jumped out when I was disassembling it and now doesn’t return properly. Carbs been cleaned out I assume it’s a tuning issue however there’s only one dial that goes 3/4 turns in any direction. Fueling system works with the primer bulb. Any ideas?

      @@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE yea gets a great compression reading didn’t use the pull string instead used a drill, got ~95 psi so I believe the compression readings show the engine being pretty healthy. Other variables are the spark plug was gapped to 0.030 of an inch and is clean, also used a spark checker and it glows with a great aura.

    I dislike the amount of times it took to start this blower. I've heard that there were design flaws that contributed to this including the lack of revolutions on the magneto as well as recoil mechanics. I also wonder if dumping some Startron fuel tank and engine cleaner would have improved performance. There's no reason why this blower should not start on a first pull given the newer carburetor and confirmed spark. Is it excessive sludge caked on the engine walls? 🤔 The more I dabble on these machines the more questions I have.

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
      @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE  2 роки тому +1

      unfortunately that's how this type of carb works. you have to pull to get fuel out of it, to get it start and stay running.

    I have a Leaf blower
    Poulan BVM200 Stoped working after 3 years of use so I kept it I purchased a new carb and it worked for a 3-4 few days then stoped again I open the carb I put in I noticed the round rubber piece inside the prime bulb was broken, so for 12.00 buck more I order another carb kit and installed it and wont work. Spark plug is sparking well fuel lines and filters have been changed, it has fresh gas, the carb primes gas well gasket between carb and plastic manifold are in place as well. I checked the screws on the piston head all are nice and tight, but the darn thing wont start. Any suggestions?

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
      @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE  4 роки тому

      Yes instead of rebuilding the carb I would suggest replacing it instead. When you order it make sure it comes with and adjustment tool. After reinstalling it you might have to make some adjustments to the carb to either get to run or start because they only come with a base tune on it. Have you done a compression test on the engine yet?
