I have loved this piece since it was the first BASIC program I ran on my C128 back in the 80s. Since then I enjoy learning about it and this lady makes me wish I majored in music.
3:18 I don't think you can definitively say that those green notes belong in the bottom voice, nor even in the top voice. I think the little 5-note runs between hands just transcend the entire 2-voice structure. It could actually be seen as the alignment of mind and body culminating into spirit. It's the most comical part of this piece! So I disagree with putting a pause in there. That just makes it sound hesitant. Thanks for posting such a thought-provoking analysis!
You can play it any way you want. Slow , medium, fast, soft , hard etc... A 7 year old who is musically inclined and knows no music theory can play this piece better than someone who spends hours of time listening to analysis.
