A kid in my elementary school had a dad who was a crab fisher captain, and her favourite memory is when she had her dad babysit her baby doll during one of his seasons, she had him change its clothes, feed it a bottle and he found it fun when he called over Skype and was able to play with his daughter miles away, the doll even had a home made life jacket made by her mom and on clear storm free days he would have his crew take photos with his daughters doll and send them to her

That sounds good. If you're a 5 year old little girl 🤣
It just goes to show, that mankind has gone against the natural use of ourselve. A young girls only concern from birth is practicing being a wife and raising babys, and her only desire is to choose a mate when she becomes a woman during puberty.
As a boy, My favrite memory would have been dad coming home with king crabs😊

@Caramel Honey G Calm down there friend. No need to get so hostile.
Joke is Nick wasn't even a member of the Brenna A, so the title is even more wrong. He was just giving them a hand in tying up.
Good job on Zach for testing the pump before leaving dock, can't complain about 5k when it could ha e been your entire ship.

Seriously. I work with dudes that have lost fingers, toes, and a leg at work. Uk people are really missing out not having the show narrated by Mike Rowe.
It's not narrated by mike rowe anymore is it?
I can't see the point of a UK narrator, may as well been a snorkeling sponge diver from Fiji.
I'd rather listen to Mike Rowe than that Scottish bloke.
No their not. We’re missing out and UK is enjoying every second of deadliest catch uncensored. America censors every fucking word on this show while this show in other countries including Bulgaria and UK air it completely uncensored
This narrator is lame. Rowe is better
Better title, “Twisted Ankle after Malfunction”
Don't run. It's simple. I worked in a steel plant for years and one of the rules the foreman had was never for run for any reason. Same goes for crabbing. Don't run on the deck, don't run on the wharf. Now having said that there are time when you feel pressure to get somewhere in a hurry and it wasn't his fault. Was just an accident.
My formans rules were that we had to drink beer with him after work he didn't have to twist are arms

That was a close one! It's a damn good thing you guys tested the bilge pump before leaving port. Like the captain said, that could have been a major disaster. 👍
He seized the pump by running it dry...
Those are definitely torn ligaments. When I tore my acl and meniscus I heard it pop and I swear to God it hurt so bad I went blind for a second

Boat fire in the morning, twisted ankle in the evening...totally related, fix the title
Two different ships. The accident happened in front Brenna A.
Idk why people think Nick's ankle injury is fake. U can clearly see his ankle move side to side and roll. Sprains are painful.
Description makes it seem it was someone on the Brenna A that was injured but it was a Summer Bay crewmember that got injured.

I just had surgery to repair my Achilles’ tendon for the fourth time. Seriously, suck it up buttercup!
in all fairness that tendon is a total bastard when it wants to be. never really goes back right either. hope you get it sorted though.
Can you imagine what would have happened if it would have blown out at sea?
They would of had to come in lol
must have been watching a different video to that in the title?
Wait , Nick is from Summers Bay , the fire was on Brenna A
I waited through all that to see a fully grown man fall over like a grandmother? 🤔
Did he run it dry? Ive never seen a bilge pump heat up unless there’s no water running through it. maybe at the start of those fifteen minutes it was pumping and then the water ran out and the pump ran dry until it burned up?
Never run side 😂
Yall saying this wasn't severe, and yeah they should have used different wording, but remember in this job if you make a mistake you could easily die. People fall in the water at the dock and freeze to death before people can rescue them.
I was expecting someone to get smashed 🤔
Brenna A Crew Member Twists Ankle In Accident Completely Unrelated To The Boat That Sets Alight | Deadliest Catch
Nice clickbait Discovery
This narrator's voice is super cool
Can someone explain how A this is severe, B a fisherman on an entirely different ship is injured after a fire that involved a different crew and ship?
A small drop in bucket indead but aslong it doesn't overflow the bucket then it should be OK.
What happened to the F/V determined?
Pain killers are not the gateway to addiction...mental illness is....
High dramatide
Bit of bait never hurt nobody
Why is it 12k a month? I don't understand?....
It is the go getters that keep the deck operational and they get beat up the most. And how did it do? Bill said if there is a way Nick could come back, he would. It is this kind of treatment that lead Nick to end it permanently. Struggling to hustle with 3 green deck hands. Not the best executive decision.
.
My sister twisted her ankle and thought she would be fine and walking after about two weeks. But that didn’t happen because her (twisted ankle) really was a ripped tendon and unaligned bone. So 5 years later just started to walk without much of a limp.
Twisted Sister???
@@thanos9846 you can say it’s a twisted sister lol
Everything in this show is "unforgiving" lol. "On the unforgiving dock"
That twisted ankle may have been the match that started the addiction fire that ended up taking Nick's life. RIP Nick. You epitomized Alaska crab fishermen. A true hard working man.
I have a hard time seeing Mahlon’s death and Nick’s relapse into drugs, as something that is unrelated. Together in heaven!
Yeah. I was (and still am) a recovering cocaine addict, and I had my problem under control until I broke my wrist. I stopped weightlifting, started drinking every day, which led to cocaine, and totally ruined my life. I still am in the thick of the fight, trying to recover.
$5,000 for that little POS pump? I think I'll load a truck full of Crab boat parts and head there next season, I can retire after a good season of old boats!!!!
That's what I was thinking. No way 5k for that .
You need to remember that Dutch Harbor is 2k miles from the nearest land road and 6k miles away from Seattle. Everything is flown into there if it is fresh food or takes a ship in.
Nick was probably drinking.
Or smoking black tar heroin
No Running by the pool
discovery really knows how to pull you into a video that isnt anything like the title describes, totally misleading
So if a twisted ankle is a serious injury on this show, does the broken wrist I had a few years back mean i'm dead? 🤔

If there's no water in the bilge, the pump will burn out.
Sucks he has since passed away...his ankle probably just finished healing.
I would not want Zach as my engineer. He was sketchy on his dads boat too!
so do they rent those pots or what? didnt think there was a whole dock of them just sitting out there for whoever to get.
A twisted ankle isn't severe. Cool click bait. Outta here
Also the wrong boat. The injured deckhands was with the Summer Bay. S15 had a bad start northwestern, Brenna A, Summer Bay, all had medical and/or mechanical probllems
Wow he was my uber driver today I didn't believe he was on here thts so cool

So, the boat is a lemon? Who didn't do the test drive?
Nick can still work, just get him a wheel chair and some percs and call it a day. See him on the deck wheeling around hahahhaaaa
I watched a man on this show lose half of his finger in an instant simply because he lightly stumbled at the wrong time near a crab pot. Come back with something thats actually "severe"
You are acting like they forced you to watch this. Quit crying
15 mins was a bit too long to test run any pump no ? The reason the testing span is short is because chances are you could screw up and dry run a pump which would instantly fry em
Ya know I watched this just now and was wondering the same. I've had to replace Baldor motors in previous jobs in heat induction (quench pumps) and machining (coolant pumps) and was always told never to run the pump/motor dry. These were high pressure pumps, which I'm sure bilge pumps are the same, no?
That pump was not 5 grand dude maybe $500 max.
Sure is severally injured after the ship caught fire....
Since when is Nick a Brenna A crew member?
