She is literally my favourite gymnast ever. I hope y'all know that if Olympics wasn't held in her home country, the pressure wouldn't have been there, and she would have UNDOUBTEDLY won VT and FX gold.
It was a great routine, but I wouldn't go that far! I love Cheng Fei too, but Pavlova deserved the bronze over her on beam. Absolutely no question about that. Cheng Fei had way too many instances where she lacked control on that event final beam routine. She had the home quart advantage in that instance.

I don't think she would have been upset if she didn't medal on beam, but she was crushed that she messed up on her strongest events on her event finals. She could have easily taken gold on those,

not only is this masterful athletic gymnastics but the artistry is stunning too. cheng fei doesn't get included in enough discussions about artistry for my liking. her floor exercises were always so beautiful, musical and delicate and understated, like her athens team final performance, her 2006 worlds event final performance, and this legendary masterpiece. truly the greatest chinese gymnast in my book.

Back in 2008 every girl can do a DTY vault in the Chinese team, even He Kexin. Now in Tokyo Olympics, none of the girl from Chinese team can do that skill.

Sorry, can someone explain me how did not cheng fei advance to the all around final? she qualified for three event finals so she surely had a really high qualification score, if we compare to yang yilin and jiang yuyuan, who made the aa final but qualified only for one event final...I'm a bit confused
All those China girls legends compare to 2020 girls. 2020 gymnasts so low trained. I don’t even wanna watch 2021 Olympic Games. I’ll just watch Biles and Komova, no one else.

Omg Cheng is one of my all time favs. Her form, difficulty still stands out. She was such an innovator but 2008 really wasn't her year.
