Hi Oward and Katelyn, my name is Luca and I'm from Bari. The dessert that you actually ate in the streets of the city is a typical Christmas sweet called 'Cartellate' or 'Carteddàte' in the local dialect. They are made of thin pasta while the sauce is cooked grape must. Hope you enjoyed spending time here!

I was dying with the ladies walking in the street with all the cars! That is so typical and leaves ya shaking your head! And you can't beat delicious 'Italian fast food' at the rest stops! So good! And the welcoming spread from your host is a beautiful example of the warm hospitality of the southern Italians. The people of this region are amazing!!!

I have been eagerly awaiting your Puglia adventures! Bari is amazing! I love this region. I will say that Bari, along with the region as a whole gets very busy with crowds slowly returning around Easter (sort of the kick off to the season) and hits its tourist highs in the summer months with the beautiful weather, outdoor dining and beach clubs opening again. This region is visited by mostly Italians and Germans although it is becoming more widely visited. October is the season coming to a close and is very peaceful. I'm so happy you toured at that time because the weather is lovely and things were still open. I can't wait for your next stop! I'm loving this so much!

help us !! ... in Italy we have a great and serious problem rooted for a long time, there is a structural difference between north and south due to a policy that has brought well-being to the north because it is highly structured and industrialized, in the south too little has been done and in this video you can see that the high-speed train ends in Naples because it is the largest city in the south, unlike in the north it has already existed for several years, in Italy there is not a single nation and Berlusconi is the BOSS

I would like to see a video with more references to the city. With places and restaurants.
I think that's why we all watch these kind of videos, to find inspiration to plan our own trip.
For future reference, 14.5º is not strong for a red wine, the alcohol content of a red wine should be around 14º according to most standards around the world. For reference too, Limoncello is a drink from southern Italy, not Cinque Terre. It should be drunk on the Amalfi Coast where it is more typical. And believe me, there is no Limoncello like the one from the Amalfi coast, ironically the red wine from this region is also very good.
But if you want good red and white wines...come to Portugal.
Keep up the good trips, it's the best we can do in life.
    arrivederci

What a lovely city indeed! Ah Sinterklaas ( Saint Nicholas), my childhood memories are so sweet. In the Netherlands it was traditional to have gifts ont he eve of the 5th December, the name day of St Nicholas being the 6th. With the modern world now there are presents under the Christmas tree as well now. Kinda sad the tradition is losing ground. My most delicious gnocchi meal was in Italy. I'd go back just for that. Happy travels. 👍 💖 🇳🇿 🙋‍♀️ 🇳🇱

Excited for you! We went with Avis/Budget which was a balance of lower cost but not with some of the local companies who carry mixed reviews (there are plenty of stories of people getting charged thousands of dollars for "tire rim damage" because that's NOT covered by the mandatory insurance, etc). The drive is actually quite easy and beautiful once you weave your way out of Naples. The route takes you along a toll road, but the machines happily take credit cards. Please keep us posted on your trip in January and do check out the rest of our Italy series for more places around Bari! Thanks for watching! 👍 -Howard

For anyone travelling to Italy, please be careful of theft and pocket theft. They prawl on tourists. Very beautiful and glad you enjoyed. Those little yellow things you were eating looked like lupini. Not nuts. They're actually a bean. You're supposed to push it out and it pops out. You can buy them in America too, at ethnic specialty stores. Or you can make them yourself, just a pain in the culo.

Ah GREAT question! So if you come from the train platforms, go immediately to your left and go as far as you can. Keep following the left wall until you reach the stairwell nthay leads down to the lower level. Follow that downstairs, make a left at the bottom and then continue walking and the rental offices will be there. Then they'll explain where to go to get your car, because that's in an entirely separate area 😅 hope that helps!

@@NewstateNomads Perhaps because I spent many years in television in the US. I formed my opinion from a food critic who once worked at the NBC station in NY. His name was Robert Potts, and he refused to eat on camera. He explained the viewer would only see him chomping and could not possibly taste food. If he were to eat on camera, the reaction would typically be, "Mmmmmmm." He said that would be smug. And that reaction would be the same for every report he did. Better to explain the elements of a particular dish: ingredients, techniques, histories, and traditions.
