- Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is streaming February 13 on Peacock: www.peacocktv....
Two-time Academy Award® winner Renée Zellweger returns to the role that established a romantic-comedy heroine for the ages, a woman whose inimitable approach to life and love redefined an entire film genre.
Bridget Jones first blasted onto bookshelves in Helen Fielding’s literary phenomenon Bridget Jones’s Diary, which became a global bestseller and a blockbuster film. As a single career woman living in London, Bridget Jones not only introduced the world to her romantic adventures, but added “Singletons,” “Smug-Marrieds” and “f---wittage” into the global lexicon. Bridget’s ability to triumph despite adversity led her to finally marry top lawyer Mark Darcy and to become the mother of their baby boy. Happiness at last.
But in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Bridget is alone once again, widowed four years ago, when Mark (Oscar® winner Colin Firth) was killed on a humanitarian mission in the Sudan. She’s now a single mother to 9-year-old Billy and 4-year-old Mabel, and is stuck in a state of emotional limbo, raising her children with help from her loyal friends and even her former lover, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).
Pressured by her Urban Family -Shazzer, Jude and Tom, her work colleague Miranda, her mother, and her gynecologist Dr. Rawlings (Oscar® winner Emma Thompson) - to forge a new path toward life and love, Bridget goes back to work and even tries out the dating apps, where she’s soon pursued by a dreamy and enthusiastic younger man (White Lotus’s Leo Woodall). Now juggling work, home and romance, Bridget grapples with the judgment of the perfect mums at school, worries about Billy as he struggles with the absence of his father, and engages in a series of awkward interactions with her son’s rational-to-a-fault science teacher (Oscar® nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor). The returning cast includes Oscar® winner Jim Broadbent and BAFTA winner Gemma Jones as Bridget’s parents and, as a new character, Isla Fisher (Now You See Me, The Great Gatsby) as Rebecca, Bridget’s neighbor.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Michael Morris (To Leslie, Better Call Saul), from a screenplay by BAFTA nominee Helen Fielding, based on her novel, with contributions from Emmy winner Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady, Eric) and Oscar® nominee Dan Mazer (I Give it A Year, Bridget Jones’s Baby).
The film is produced for Working Title by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, whose films, including The Danish Girl, Darkest Hour, Fargo, Les Misérables and The Theory of Everything, among others, have earned 14 Academy Awards® and six Best Picture nominations. The film is also produced by Jo Wallett (Wicked Little Letters, Catherine Called Birdy). The film is executive produced by Helen Fielding, Renée Zellweger, Amelia Granger and Sarah-Jane Wright. Working Title has produced all the Bridget Jones films.
Universal Pictures and StudioCanal and Miramax present a Working Title production, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. The film will be released in theaters internationally by Universal Pictures and will stream exclusively on Peacock in the U.S.

ı am so happy to see bridget again but am ı the only one who is upset that mr darcy wont be in it?
Technically he's in it he shot scenes
Mark dies in the book, which sadly is inspired by the author's experience of becoming a widow.
I seen him in the trailer 👀 I'm more disappointed that it's not on at the cinema
@@Chrzs2cjIt will be. It’s already listed on my local cinemas website.
No I am glad he is gone
It's funny that during all this time Bridget went from spinster to married to separated to married again, had 2 children, became a widow and apparently is going to find a new love. In the meantime, I remained single 🤣 and I was the maid of honor at all my friends' weddings 😅Maybe it's time for Bridget to pass the title of spinster and the ice cream pot. I accept with honor 🤝🫡 ”All by myself…”😂😂😂😂
Haha that's funny 😂
same
I feel uuuuuu
Same here 😢
Too relatable. Bless us all gathered here today.
We can already guess the plot of the movie. She likes getting attention from the young guy, has a flirty relationship with him, probably sleeps with him. The black guy is the one who actually cares for her, she takes it for granted at first, there will be some argument and then she ends up with him. And of course I will still watch!
I just hope Daniel gets to be in it alot
Ive read the book 10 years ago and it is exactly like this. Hahahahah
i think there'll be a mandarin/ trevor slattery style twist and goes for Rebecca
I think the different thing in this sequel is that she can choose among THREE!
The black guy is Chiwetel Ejiofor. Very talented actor
My mind went from the shock that Mark is dead to being glad that Bridget's dad is alive
"Uncle Daniel" Mark will be rolling in his grave lmao
The book mentions they made amends before he died.
Part 2:

Mark would love it. Daniel and Mark's friendship is legendary.
u can't just kill Mr.Darcy like that nooooooooo
That's what happened in the book ;(
I was also sad that Darcy isn't here but someone said that the book/ story is inspired by the author's experience of being a widow. 😢
Yea his character dies in the book also so this is exactly what I expected unfortunately.
have you seen the sex and the city’s spin off ‘and just like that’
@@MargoD-v6t Yeah but Chris Noth is a disgusting POS, Colin Firth is a lovely man. So idc about Big dying.
Although I'm thrilled to see Bridget again, am I the only one who is disappointed that Mr. Darcy won't be attending?
yess, I wouldn't mind another lady fight between Mr Darcy and Daniel 🤣
We were single together with Bridget Jones, we were happy, heartbroken, confused, and even pregnant. I have watched these movies throughout all stages of my life.❤❤❤
I was engaged in the first movie, married with kids in the second movie and third movie. Now divorced with two young adult kids and looking forward to this one.
Hearing These words by Natasha Bedingfield in the trailer is the 2000s throwback I did not know I needed 😀
So glad it’s not Unwritten again! Love Natasha tho
What’s the name of the song?
@@thehopefuledwardian These words
Hugh Grant definitely has 10,000 hours to achieving true expertise in his chosen craft. He just keeps getting better with each new role.
Well, he pretty much just plays himself, which is likely not that hard for him to do 😅
@@emjay_mcri Truth
Omg the emotion this movie is going to bringgg
OMG YES! The greatest Rom-Com Storyline of All Time. This couldn't of been a better time. Considering what's happening in these times, These hidden gems does make 2025 optimistic.
Not anymore.
LET'S GOOOO! MOTHER IS BACK
We all need BFFs like Shazzer, Tom and Jude
The Bridget Jones movies have always warmed my heart when I needed it and given me a good laugh. Glad to see we're in for one last ride. I'm curious to see how Daniel comes out from hiding after faking his death. LOL
Why did you do this to me?😢 you shouldn't have killed Mark😢 Bridget and Mark should be the end game.❤ I hope at least Bridget and Daniel find their way towards each other, they had a fun history together and I'm sure that Daniel would be the best choice among these 3 guys that we've encountered in this trailer.
I hope not Daniel sucks
someone said he died in the book
He died in the book. They follow the book 😉. The whole point about it is not the happy ending story. Thats not real life anyway
@@lizterbeek1019 Yeah, although I haven't read the book, I read somewhere that Mark died in it, and that's why they killed off the character in the movie as well. I get that life can suck and bad things always happen in real life, but come on, I'd love to watch movies to escape from the crappy things in reality. I'd love to see happy endings in movies, even though happy endings are rare in real life.
@@elinasalvatore1521 Bridget and Mark had their happy ending. Even in real life when someone has a happy ending, if you keep going long enough one of them will eventually die. It's not an "unhappy" ending. It's literally how every story ends if you kept going.
Ok!! I’ll do a Bridget Jones Marathon before watching! Twist my arm why don’t you!
My mom and I have always gone to the theatre to watch every Bridget Jones movie so far! We will be watching this one but it will be weird not watching it at the movie theatre.
Times change
Im literally tearing up. Im so excited because I've loved the Bridget Jones storyline from the start, I've read all the books and original columns and have adored all the characters but this one is going to be a tough one to sit thru. Im going to be bawling my eyes out, not only because of Mark Darcy's death but that it'll be the final chapter of the Bridget Jones saga.
Just speaking as someone of Ms. Zellweger's generation; I have zero interest in ever dating someone in their 20s or 30s. Doesn't matter how fit or well preserved I am, there's just a certain "ick" factor in dating someone young enough to be your kid! There are loads of very attractive 40 and 50-something actors out there to choose from, so I don't understand the desire for these romances with massive age and generational gaps.
YOU KILLED MARK?!?!?!?!?!
He had to die. For the plot 😢
Apparently they did. Why do people love this so much? I watched the first one and thought 🙄🤮
Yep, apparently inspired by the author’s experiences of being a widow.
The auther actually wrote in 2015 this part- mad about the boy, and she herself killed Mark Darcy. But when producers reacted badly on a published book and said that's a no go for a movie - she had to write another script. But movies are made in correct order of plot action
@@АлександраНиколаева-ь2ь then what exactly did she change for the script? he is still dead in the movie
Bridget Jones without Mark Darcy is a travesty 😭
I can't read this. I can't accept Marc's death. 😭
Nooo😭Why did they kill Me Darsy. For 3 films it wasn't enough of him and Bridget😥Their love line wasn't fully disclosed😭😭😭
I'd so much rather see it in the cinema than stream it!
Only on streaming? I want to see this in a movie theatre!
depending on where you live, you might be able to watch it at the theatre as Peacock isn't available in Europe ... we'll be getting in in cinemas in Denmark for instance 😊
@@ImmortalSparrowpeacock is available in the UK?
@thomasfy4 I think UK (and possibly Ireland) is an exception - probably due to the language 🤷🏻♀️
Bridget Jones Is Back, And She More Than Ever.
They killed off Mr Darcy!!!!???
someone said he died in the book
It is in the book, so it is in the movie also
How else do you create a new story line!
god in heaven READ THE DAMN BOOK. THIS IS NOT NEWS. it’s based on a damn book and he does in fact die in the book - this film is about her life as a widow. happily ever after ain’t real life. the fact that this series was willing to embrace that reality (to an extent, anyway) elevates it above other romances. deal with it, and enjoy the film. or don’t watch. but don’t complain when the films are literally adapting books that have existed for YEARS.
@@sethd6485 Calm down, I didn't know there was books before the movie so others probably don't know either.
Thank fucj they have Daniel Clever back! Hugh Grant is hilarious 😂
WHY DO THEY KEEP KILLING THESE MEN?!?
to not cheat on them, as men would... at least, no one is cheating 😂 it's the perfect loophole
Its keeping true to the book.
Streaming only on Peacock? So they won’t be getting a cinema release?
We already miss Mr Darcy so much! 😭😭😭
Yessssssssssssss Bridget Jones is back.. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Why is this streaming on Peacock? Rather than going to cinema like the other three instalments…
I'm so happy that Renee is able to keep returning to that role, aging gracefully and owning that character
She's had botox
@starshipdreamer484 so that's bad? Or not graceful? Up to decide for everyone themselves, isn't it?
Killing Mr. Darcy makes sense in this, the darkest of timelines. 😭
Why are so many people upset at Mark's death? The book has been out for a good few years now, so its not exactly news. And if you do read the book, its not like Mark's prescence isn't felt throughout (🦉).
yaaas
I've not read any of the books so it is a shock to hear he's been bumped off
Because it deprives Bridget of her happy ending.
And yet is so wrong!!!
I skipped the book when I heard she killed him off. F that noise, and this movie or series or whatever it is as well.
They killed Mark? No, thank you but I'm gonna give this one a pass a remember Briget Jones the way I like it.
the red penguin pyjamas 😍 can't wait for this 😊 welcome back bridget!!
Miniature Darcy. Hahaha. So cute.
Uhm... Still love the first one but excited about this one!
I love fact that it's so natural how the characters are still here but aged gracefully. ❤❤
Streaming in US on Peacock, Universal Pictures releasing in cinemas for the rest of us. Valentines 💝 2025, will definitely watching all 3 in the lead up.
Straight to streaming?
Great, so where can people who don't get peacock watch it?
probably Disney+
She looks exactly the same and aging so beautifully. Can't wait to see it.
I read this novel years ago and has been waiting for it to be a movie again !
So happy and anticipation is...YeAH!!
finally my teenage favourite movie is back
😮 Almost every Christmas I watch Bridget Jones.... Now I'm not so sure. I will treasure the first 2 ❤
Leo Woodall is ❤... Seriously when I saw him in that Netflix show One Day, I feel in love lol.... And, then White Lotus. Minus the butt stuff lol. That man can act!!! Seriously two totally opposite characters & movie! It doesn't hurt how very goodlooking he is. But, when it comes down to his acting skills! He's great. Can't wait to see this movie. And see what happens...??? I guarantee this is only the beginning for him & his career! And, I will wait patiently until the day comes and he knockes in my door. Or, by some miracle I'd bump into him here in Wisconsin. Cause they're filming a movie here lol😂😂❤❤😊😊" he's on my list for a hall pass"😅 I mean his eyes, his shoulders, Now he's a man!
Oh dear god no. Can't hollywood just leave a good thing alone...
I started reading this book years ago, and as soon as I knew Darcy has died, I closed that book and never opened it again 😂
I have seen all the Bridget movies multiple times. Can't wait for this.
So it’s not creepy for a 50 something woman to date a 29 year-old but if the roles were reversed, y’all be losing your mind. Got it.
her dad lives, wanker Cleaver lives, and Darcy doesn't???? beats me
I don't like that they make her find someone else again. Mosy women at this age don't want to marry anymore. Being alone is amazing
What's the name of the song in the second part of this trailer?
Why am I still so invested in this? Could it be people used to say I reminded them of Bridget? Probably. Lol.
❤ have such a fondness for the Bridget Jones’ movies. So happy to see them all (well, of cos, Mark too obviously!, he will be missed)
The thought of Mr..Darcy being dead makes me cry 😢
good lord this slop really didn't need a revival. absolute husk of a franchise.
Seeing this after binging Bridget Jones Diaries, recently be like OMG ❤😍 And it's soooo good to see Hugh Grant!
Streaming on Peacock?? Wtf is PEACOCK?
Bridgett Jones: Retirement Home
Welp! Looks like the preview is the whole movie!! 😂❤
I can’t wait. But I am a bit confused why Daniel clever is in it as he died in the last movie. They had a funeral for him at the beginning.
In the last movie they showed at the end that they have found Clever alive
@ oh I didn’t realise that. Thanks. Well at least he is in it. He was always funny!
We didn't watch three movies and follow the story for 20+ years only for Mr Darcy to end up dead... Why can't Hollywood just let some movies be done. We don't need another part if it's ruining the original story. Haven't they learn anything from the disaster that was My Big Fat Greek Wedding part 3?
It’s a book the Author who created Bridget took it in this direction and the book is pretty beautiful
HELL NAW THEY JUST KILLED HIM OFF?!
I love that Bridget Jones is back, fabulous! 😊😄🎉 ❤
Damn I was hoping they wouldn’t follow the book😫 mark Darcy should’ve lived
Please tell me it’s going to be in theaters
I'm not watching the trailer as I don't want any spoilers... but I am so looking forward to seeing this 🥰
Oh can't wait...sad that Darcy has passed but love that Bridgit's back with her fun shenanigans.
I'm bummed they're going the straight to Peacock route. I would have gone to see this.
Why do I still care so much about this? Could it be people used to say I reminded them of Bridget? Probably. Lol.Why am I still so invested in this? Could it be people used to say I reminded them of Bridget? Probably. Lol.
Wait it’s not going to be in cinema?! Nooooo!
@nadiam2853 It's not in the US. It could be in other countries.
So what marketing director decided that women’s fantasy after age 45 is to have a fling with a much younger man?? Eeww. Seriously.
It has been a trend lately in romance films to pair up older women with younger men.
No kidding. There are so many attractive actors in their 40s, 50s and 60s out there...this definitely has an "ick" factor to it.
Natasha Bedingfield is wracking up… she doesn’t even have to record a single… her songs are still used as the theme songs to movies about life lessons, love that… and love that this movie looks amazing
Such an underrated artist. She walked so P!nk could run.
We spent that whole trilogy to see him die? No… that doesn’t make sense.
After three movies of Bridget Jones navigating love and self-discovery, it’s time to show her truly settled with Mr. Darcy - no more new dramas with new boys. Just a story that follows her journey from single to happily growing old with her one true love, complete with family moments, kids, and a joyful Christmas dinner. A final chapter of lasting happiness and stability.
So, I am gonna pretend this movie doesn’t exist.(Killing of Mr. Darcy) Movie ended before it started.
There is something so uplifting about this trailer
Juhuuuu!!! Bridget is back!!! 🎉🤩🥳
It's about " bloody " time!!! I'm so excited to see this!!! Bridget Jones is my Soooo my life!!!!❤😂
Now I have to watch the previous ones all over again for the 154th time before going to the cinema 😁💛
I want Hugh grant to be in in a lot
Streaming??? Surely deserves a cinema release
And it will
Maybe outside the US?
@@JamesLawner Yeah. Apparently so.
Leo Woodall went from The White Lotus to a
Bridget Jones movie!
Talk about killing the entire franchise … literally. This was like killing Mr Big in SATC
Wait, they killed Daniel in the previous movie, she attended the funeral, how come he's alive now
At the end of the last movie it was reported Daniel survived the plane crash.
@@einezcrespo2107 I can't believe so many people missed that😂

It's so crazy to see some scenes are filmed in my favorite park 🥺
Enough already. I couldn't even watch the whole trailer 🙈
The first two were good fun, then not so much really..
All of a sudden, I’m starting to understand Bates’ character in Misery…
