This lady needs a reality check. 1.5 million in the bank, husband has stable 100k/year job, she makes 50k/year PART TIME, house is paid off, etc.
Talk to someone who is actually burnt out working 60+ hours/week and can’t take time off just to keep food on the table and a roof above their heads.

Not everything is about money. I’m a nurse and financially secure but I can’t express to you the type of stress I feel this period. I’m on my feet all day in the icu. I know I need time off to recoup but inside I feel like if I took that time off, I’ll be like a soldier deserting his men on the battlefield. It’s hard. I understand her call but if all you’re focus is on the money she has, then you have no idea what she’s talking about

Maggie H some people are genuinely overly selfless. It sounds like she doesn’t have much experience with managing wealth. She wants to help others too much, because like the guy said, she placed too much of her identity and self worth in helping others. If you ask me, she should get into investing and nonprofit entrepreneurship, she’ll go way farther to help people that way and capitalize on a strength she has that others typically don’t: money.

As a paramedic I quickly learned to regulate my emotions. 1# Compassion: See suffering try to help lesson it. Sympathy 2# Feeling bad for the Pt but not quite empathy. Empathy # 3 Emotionally and mentality putting yourself in the position of the one suffering. 100% of my Pts get compassion (because it's my job), a few get sympathy because it helps them in the process, only rarely does someone get my empathy. Sympathy and Empathy drain us of vital emotional energy that family and close friends deserves from us. If we spend our emotional energy reserve on all our patients we won't be able to give to our family. It's like spending your money on junk food and not being able to pay for rent

If she is fatigued then she better sit down before she fall down or end up being in the hospital herself. I've heard too many hard-working folk who believe in God having to go into the hospital while talking about "God had to lay me down".
