A lot of people need to hear this. It is great to get your world in order and get out of debt but you need the why involved and also a purpose for getting up every morning outside of paying bills. Those kids will be gone soon enough. You aren't missing out. 10 years from now you will not care about that time you didn't go out with friends, or you missed out on going to a movie, but you will be kicking yourself for putting things off for so long when it could have been taken care of years ago. When you put things off you just are condemning yourself to a lifetime of disappointment and frustration, but if you take charge of things now and just take a year to get it all done then you will have a lifetime of happiness. And this goes beyond finances. You need to lose weight or get into shape, do it now. You are unhappy with your job and want to start a new career, do it now. Want to ask out a girl, do it now. There is no point in waiting around for things to magically work out. Get working on things now and in a couple years you will wonder why you ever considered dragging your feet.

They grow up so fast and you will realize how much time you lost working too much. Within a few years, your children will start hanging out with their friends more and not wanting to do fun things with the parents. Do all those things now while they still think

So when Dave tells ppl their spouse needs to get off their butts and pitch in to pay down debt, that isn't what the mighty Ramsey's did. Dave worked himself very hard after the bankruptsy.
