I noticed that this is something we (Hmong People) need work on. We need to support each other and praise one another when we see a Hmong person/Hmong business being successful. We need more Hmong role models for our youth and for our community! It goes both ways as well. Successful Hmong people need to give back to the Hmong community if they are able. Hmong business need to see Hmong customers as customers too and treat them with respect as well. I hate to say this, but I am guilt of not supporting some Hmong business, not because they are Hmong, but the way they treat their customers. For example: 10 years ago, I went a Hmong grocery store and there was a very long line (4 ahead of me and 4 behind me) with just one check out line opened. There was one cashier and a someone bagging the groceries. After 10 minutes of waiting in line, I noticed a non-Hmong person came to line (last person in line). The bag person took that non-Hmong person to another check out line to check out their groceries. Afterwards, bag person return to the long line and continued bagging groceries. Everyone in line was in shock! Due to this, I never came back to that Hmong grocery store ever again even though it was closer to my home. It was a new huge store with Hmong clothes/movie section/mini café/groceries and I went there 2-3 times a month. Witnessing this made me very sad to see how this Hmong business saw their Hmong customers. It shouldn't be that way! I try to support Hmong business as much as I can, but if the service is bad...I rather take my money somewhere else. I do hope that this Hmong grocery store has changed and is still in business.

It's a cat and mouse game with these toxic relatives. In order for a marriage to work, there has to be trust. Once you have that, nothing outside can break it. You can't control what others do but you can control only what you can do. Life is too short and time is too precious, spend it with people who supports and appreciates you. Greedy family members even after reincarnation, their behaviors will not change. Stop supporting and giving to selfish and greedy relatives. There's one or a few in every family. I have learned myself @ 19 that no one cares about your worth or accomplishments until they need something from you. After they get what they need or want they remover you from their VIP list again.
